Man I just used my wife's sidekick 4g and boy that phone felt slow I think g2x has spoiled me I love this phone. I think after a while the speed just feels natural so you don't really realize how fast the phone is moving even with everything running in the background

Haha, I know what you mean dude. I was just using my friend's Epic 4G and it's so slow! Heck, I even tried out my old MyTouch 3G the other day... Don't even get me started...
My kids have a G1 with the CM 6 and they wanted me to show them how to do updates to the apps.
I used a few Android phones of people at work and they're do seem slow compares to this phone.

My friend is about to purchase an Inspire 4G. How is everyone's experience with it? I don't think my friend will do any sort of heaving modding with it such as rooting and custom ROMs. Is there lag such as the Captivate that requires the so called "Lagfix"? How is the phone overall? Feedback will be appreciated!

awesome phone, can be lagfix'd if you so choose, it is pretty snappy out of the box but lagfix is a common mod. I'd Odin flash the community kernel if i were him and call it a day, later he can use CWM included in the kernel to flash the upcoming gingerbread based rom that make it feel like a new phone. there is a world.of difference between the included firmware and gingerbread.
infuse 4g is literally the best phone ive ever had, especially if you like youtube and netflix as much as i do
Best phone I've used to date, kicked my G2x to the curb for it. The screen size and color is beastly. Dual core is overrated, you wont be disappointed with this phone.

The phone looks gorgeous although I find myself swapping back and forth from my atrix lately after the latest update from att. He won't regret it though the phone looks super sexy which is why I had to get it. No regrets!

Its an awesome phone its my first smartphone and my sister has iPhone 4 and is constantly bragging on my phone. Just awesome. Advice tho at fry's electronics it is only 119 so skip the att store and go to fry's

I'm really torn if I shoukd keep my g2x or keep my g2. The g2x is obviously smoother with scrolling, application launch and etc. The reason I got the g2 is almost every app supports it. While I feel the g2x is dead and won't be supported. I rooted, custom rom'd my g2 and overclocked it. But it's still not smooth as the g2x?

If anyone has a chance to switch to the sgsII skyrocket do it...I love this phone...so fast and smooth and reaches faster speeds on my hspa+ network than the infuse did. on the infuse i was lucky to reach 3 mbps now i reach almost 6 mbps and 1.5 up.

Agreed. The Infuse is an awesome phone, but if you are thinking about upgrading/have the upgrade/funds, do it. You won't regret it.
The phone is faster and smoother, has a better feel in your hands, the speaker is even louder and clearer, and battery life (somehow) is even better.
I am in love with this phone just like I was the Infuse when I got it.
I'll possibly be getting it soon, hopefully.
I can't wait to get it honestly, I've wanted it since it was announced, and I'm going to an AT&T store to play with it today, and hell, if I had $150 right now, I'd open a new line, get it, pop my SIM in there, and have a new phone. xD
I'm running 12.47 down 1.46 up on infuse running bigs Max rom. Also have skyrocket and with tweaked infuse they run neck and neck but the skyrocket is a awesome phone to say the least.

With cm7 on my phone, its faster and more stable then my friends gs2 on tmobile, lol. Skyrocket seems good, but if the galaxy nexus is lte on att then I'm going with that for some quick updates lol and the best development.

Pick up a free Atrix4g over the weekend. So far the increase in speed its just amazing over the Captivate. Hope it doesnt slow down as I slowly add back the apps.

Agree... real cool. Not sure if they realize that the cappy can be blazing fast with some tweaks. In fact, mine runs much better than my daughter's atrix 4g that she purchased before the holidays.

Agreed. I'm a firm believer that my Cappy is running faster than some of my friend's dual core phones when I have MIUI installed on it.
Long live the Captivate. I'm gonna rock this baby out until it NEEDS to get replaced.

I thought the same - as in there wasn't really any bad lag. After switching to a SGSII, I'll say that's not exactly true
But the Cappy was an awesome phone.
Sometimes these posts hurt my feelings

Alright let me start off by saying i.love my g2x i guess i got lucky i never had a issue like some of the other horror stories ive reae here but i recently broke my screen and decided to try this galaxy s i had i was wondering if anyone has had one before how are the roms and kernels im busy with work i wont have time to really try any out and flash for a while so any advice would be nice

G2x is soooo much better. My younger brother has a Galaxy S 4G, and it's a nice phone and all, but there is literally no development going on for it anymore. No Vanilla, MIUI, or ICS. G2x is wayyy faster although I really like the Galaxy S 4G's Camera.

I had galaxy s4g development there its horrible just rehashes diffirent themes with ROMs. Although music player is really good and can take advantage of full voodoo

I actually just got my Samsung Galaxy S 4g replaced from Tmobile with the G2X. I used the SGS4G for awhile.
I don't regret it one bit, this phone is a beast in comparison. I'm not even using ICS yet, and I'm so happy with my new device. Significant upgrade in my opinion, and as others have said ROM development is much more active.
The devs are trying to work out ICS, but nothing close to even "kind of" functional.
IMO the screen was a little better and voodoo sound is cool, but a majority of the ROMs are customized versions of a stable base. MIUI is also being worked on, however the significant gains in just about every other area out shine 2 perks. Can't comment on battery life yet, my G2X has "new toy syndrome" at the moment.
Bottom line, stuck my SGS4G in the box and sent it back this morning.
G2X > SGS4G
