I'm loving these G2X love threads. It's about time we heard some of the positives of this phone over all the complaints. Not to say there aren't some legit issues for some people, but not all of us got lemons.

I hope that devs come over to G2x land. LG can't work out its problems, T-Mobile can't work out its problems. Maybe the smart developers can work it out.

I think it would be a mistake for anyone to jump ship unless they just really wanted something else. The G2x has an awesome screen (despite screen bleed), great hardware, and great form factor. The only thing wrong with it is software related, which is fixable. You can't fix poor hardware, which some newer phones do have.

I believe I did say "thinking" in the OP. I was only trying to point out that it seems as though a lot of people are switching to the sensation... And your update didn't say "thinking of selling one of my seven devices" it said "thinking of selling my g2x".

CM7 already has the battery driver ironed out and a pretty stable release of 2.3.4. The phone itself is awesome and I'm loving the Tegra games.
I think I would be seriously disappointed if I were to switch to another phone right now.
I think my next phone won't be until Tegra 3's are out.

u hit it on the head player911, im effin loving my phone it is a beautiful piece i actually took my screen protector off and wow this screen is amazingly beautiful, ill tell u what those tmobile anti smear protectors suck! anyways the screen doesnt have one scratch id figure i would just keep one off because of the gorilla glass it has been about a week and not one scratch, and i think im just gonna stay with this phone for a while, i love the way this phone plays games, u have to check out galaxy on fire 2. great game....and now that cm7 is on its way to stable im not even worried about that official gingerbread release because it really wont do nothing special to our phones, we need the drivers from nvidia! as far as battery and etc., but like i said cm handled that......sorry a little off subject

I've owned every device T-Mobile has to offer and for such a powerhouse not to have any backing was a deal breaker for me. I went back to the Nexus S and now I have the Sensation. I'm staying with HTC until the new Nexus launches.
How do you guys feel about LG & T-Mobile now after petitioning and emailing them? They are basically not looking to improve the device. The G2x may be a epic fail. I enjoyed it while I had it but it clearly lacks support.
I havent seen any issues on my Sensations behalf. I think that unless you have tested it or owned one you can't go by hear say. The issues people addressed as far as the G2x only some have experienced but those who have them might want to make the jump while the G2x still holds some value.

Yes 3 of them. The g2x is easily the least buggy of the two. And I've had 4 g2xs. (Exchanged from other reasons, dust, glue seal and retardidism) .

Oh but listen to what your saying. You have exchanged the G2X 5 times and you still have the same issues? That means it is not going to magically get fixed by doing even more exchanges. The reason they stopped doing exchanges is because they know the phone has problems on ALL the phones and until it gets updated it wont do any good to swap it out for another. Makes sense to me. I understand switching it for a sensation if you cant handle the issues but I completely understand why tmobile is doing this. Makes sense to me. Personally I chose this phone because I knew it would be supported by cyannogen and im pretty happy I went that route rather than the sensation because who knows how long it will take to get updates for that. I have absolutely no issues except a little screen bleed. Obviously the nexus phones are going to get support first and then followed by any phone supported by CM. This phone is already leaps and bounds better than the sensation when you consider the custom rom community.
HOWEVER... I will say that t-mobile AND LG need to speak up and let us know what is going on. Admitting they have issues is ok as long as they are working to fix it but leaving us in the dark is kinda crappy.
Frankly this is still an unconfirmed newsletter. Hopefully well see something about this soon

Leaving anyone in the dark is not cool. Announce something. Email Twitter fb whatever. Of course the g2x is ahead in Roms the Sensation isn't even a month old. It took 2 months to get a rom for it and it was great. When the Sensation gets s off it will be a monster more than what it is now. I liked the g2x don't get me wrong but somethings I couldn't ignore and for someone who pays full price for phones I don't think it was worth my money. The Sensation feels more of a solid device
And also people have reported that some exchanges for a device have solved most of their issues. Some just chose to deal with it.

I missed the announcement canceling the GB update. Can you provide a link?
If they did not cancel the update, will everyone just calm down and wait for the fix. If the GB update does not fix the issues, I will be right next to you banging on Tmo doors.
I guess we really did need another thread devoted to a "rumor-alert". I call "first" on posting this link tomorrow in a new thread.

I was under the impression the the update would contain more than just GB. It has been rumored to contain better drivers and other fixes as well. Hopefully we will know before September.
You people need to understand something: this phone does NOT need a gB update nor did tmo ever say that this mysterious update was going to be gb. What we are waiting for is a FIRMWARE update from LG, distributed through tmo. This what the Rep who told me they were pulling the g2x, ( which they temp. did a few weeks later) said. He told me the firmware update would be first, then if all goes well they MAYBE will release gb for us. Yeah could be BS, but he's been right so far.

Actually t-mobile and LG both promised updates to Gingerbread claiming it would be right after initial release. T-mobile claimed before summer. LG boasted how they decided to leave it stock android in specifically so they would be able to quickly update the device right after release. Its not been quite a while and I am pretty sure they should have had at least something by now.
Man this whole thing with LG/ tmo giving us totally different versions/BS promises with every Rep is just BS. I hate to say it but IMO the only thing that's gonna make these corporate douchbags give us the truth is through a class action lawsuit. This is just so uncooked of them to play this game. I personally hope my Guy is right ... first firmware update, then gb, or maybe released together in a single update....I'm dreaming I know :/

My phone is pretty awesome I got lucky no issues other than a few reboots over the months, no screen bleed. BUT STILL ...lol... what about the peeps with issues? IMO it's bs and constitutes deceptive buisness practices

Sorry this is general chit chat but I went to best buy to get my nexus and had cm7 on my evo. Here is the deal:
Me:evo getting nexus s
wife:evo
son:bb tour getting my evo
When they did the swap on the lines my evo with cm7 wasn't working so my son handed it to the salesman w/out me knowing about it. And the salesman was practically jumping saying how did you get 2.3 when its not even released? I was red in the face and told my wife why did he give that to him. I got home put .ruu on it and fixed it for him. WOW never again will i give a salesman a rooted cell; well actually my son did. What an experience. I love my nexus s but starting to want the 3d now.

I have the Evo, the 3D, and the Nexus S 4G. The 3D has a better screen (yes, actually better than AMOLED! More accurate colors, no blue-tint, and brighter) and is dual-core and 1.2 GHz and has double the RAM. It feels just as snappy as the NS4G. I'd say stick with the NS4G until they root the 3D, unless you love Sense.
The Evo is kind of like a Nexus One, a ton of ROMs and mods.

It got it very recently so the idiot salesman probably didn't know about the update. Also, he probably was baffled by lack of Sense.

They tend to not care but some wont service it until it returns to stock. Most sprint employees use roms as well

I flashed this rom and my Nexus grew arms and legs and started moonwalking and grabbing itself...
It just arrived through ups.
Its the LG G2X, and I'm extremely jealous looking at all the cool features it has, not to mention it's dual core.
I just took it out of the box, and looked at it.
Didn't turn it on or anything, because, well, its her Christmas present...
So i am pleading to you guys to give me some good reasons why I shouldn't stick my phone in that box, and pretend that's the new phone she got, while I sneakly keep the g2x as if it has been my phone all along.
Octane 3.0 themed version. Gotta wait until its available and you've tried it before jumping ship Other than that, umm I moved to a G2X myself. But I still have the SGS4G. Umm reasons to stay with it..... battery lasts noticeably longer, screens brighter, speakers alot louder! Other than that I love my G2X
Yeah, the g2x does look pretty badass.
Oh well, guess I'll just have to be satisfied with modding and hacking it for her, lol.
Best of all is, it was free, just by adding it to my family plan.

Nah, I think there's still some life to come onto this phone yet.
I have been around since the kb5 enhanced days, and i know we go through slow periods here, but there is always something new on the horizon.

I mean it would be kind of stupid getting a lesser quality phone for the same price ($0), just so my phone would be better.
My dad gave me a g1 when he had a blackberry pearl that was old and my mom had a verizon pay phone. Yes, he payed contract price for it. So ya, you should be as kind as that. Also, my dad also gave me the SGS4g, but my whole family has an SGS4g

Plus, she's been a good kid.
She just got her from Brazil this year, and has made tremendous progress in learning English, and getting good grades in school.
And ill be happy with modding the phone to her taste.
