Vibrant 4g or G2x

Since I couldn't get my wife a nexus s with the upgrade. I decided to go with the vibrant 4g.
She got it on Friday via ups.
My questions is should I return the vibrant 4g and get the G2x since I can still return the phone

I'm also interested in the g2x. I work in the wireless industry and I got a chance to play with it and its amazing. Only issue is.....what's the resale value of the ns.

G2X no doubt. It has everything I've been looking for in a phone. Vanilla Android for faster update, nVidia Tegra 2 for exclusive games, HDMI mirroring and a good camera with flash.

G2 was said to be "stock" Android but it was nothing like stock. It looks like stock, but it's not 100% stock.

I think you should wait for Galaxy S 2.
The G2x is simply not worth it, its so bugged :S
I'll never touch that thing again...

Actually this question was moved from the Nexus s forum to vibrant 4g forum.
I have the Nexus s and my wife has a less then a week old vibrant 4g.!

im in the same boat i got a replacement because my vibrant3g was stolen so they sent me a 4g i kicked and screamed and they re sent me a regulare vibrant i have a few days to return and keep either one im at a loss i dont know what to do anyone out there in the same experience as mee with so suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I'd go with the G2X. Reviews are insanely good for it.

I got the G2x... my wife got the new Samsung 4G... both are so awesome!
The 2Gx is faster since it has the dual cores... but either way, you'll love it. Go for the G2x tho if you're a gamer.

I just got the G2X and love it, I have the Vibrant T959 and then the Galaxy S 4G T959V (too many variance in names for the Galaxy S, Vibrant - sure you know can understand). Anyways not even rooted yest the G2X is an awesome phone! If I didn't get that I would have seriously gotten the 1st Vibrant T-Mobile came out with but not being 4G would have sucked but for the moment I would have been pleased.
Hope I didn't make anyone mad or offend anyone either. As you can see I did keep the T959V (4G) just to try to see if I could learn on how to improve it and help add to the positive and not negative. Hope that counts for something when reading this.

Then you should totally go with the G2X. I was disappointed with not having the internal extra memory and capabilities that go along with that and in fact was going to return the 4g but kept it and then got the G2X on Saturday, haven't even rooted it yet or really played on it and love it!
It's fun to because it is a totally different setup being LG and the 4g is to a naked eye JUST LIKE the Vibrant 3g without the space and internal memory features.
Post what you decided on and let me know what you think. You can always get the 4g to be sure and then return it. You will know the day you get it if you want it or not coming for the T959. Let me know what you do, I'm curious if it was just me or anyone else who did the same (thinking it was an upgrade) and was really disappointed with it. I didn't plan on buying it, just a impulse purchase I am so bad with those.
Do not regret for a moment the 2nd impulse purchase for a phone I don't even really need which was the G2X, that phone is awesome and there is a lot already out there for it (including flashing CWM). Good luck.

The cm7 was supposed to be ironed out in this build but it want..
Now my favorite vibrant dev is leaving...

I hope that devs come over to G2x land. LG can't work out its problems, T-Mobile can't work out its problems. Maybe the smart developers can work it out.

I think it would be a mistake for anyone to jump ship unless they just really wanted something else. The G2x has an awesome screen (despite screen bleed), great hardware, and great form factor. The only thing wrong with it is software related, which is fixable. You can't fix poor hardware, which some newer phones do have.

Thinking and doing are 2 different things. I could easily sell one of my 7 devices and get the sense and still keep the g2x. Some people read to far into things.

I believe I did say "thinking" in the OP. I was only trying to point out that it seems as though a lot of people are switching to the sensation... And your update didn't say "thinking of selling one of my seven devices" it said "thinking of selling my g2x".
I wasn't trying to read too much into things. Just don't want a mass exodus...

Me too.
CM7 already has the battery driver ironed out and a pretty stable release of 2.3.4. The phone itself is awesome and I'm loving the Tegra games.
I think I would be seriously disappointed if I were to switch to another phone right now.
I think my next phone won't be until Tegra 3's are out.

u hit it on the head player911, im effin loving my phone it is a beautiful piece i actually took my screen protector off and wow this screen is amazingly beautiful, ill tell u what those tmobile anti smear protectors suck! anyways the screen doesnt have one scratch id figure i would just keep one off because of the gorilla glass it has been about a week and not one scratch, and i think im just gonna stay with this phone for a while, i love the way this phone plays games, u have to check out galaxy on fire 2. great game....and now that cm7 is on its way to stable im not even worried about that official gingerbread release because it really wont do nothing special to our phones, we need the drivers from nvidia! as far as battery and etc., but like i said cm handled that......sorry a little off subject

Don't think anyone knows but i hope they get it.

Don't know either but my fingers are crossed. My guess is that aosp is a little too "open" for Verizon's likes.

They bent over backwards for Apple because they have been kicking themselves since they passed on the iPhone the first time. They saw the chance to steal a big amount of AT&T iPhone users and jumped. Now if they actually stole a lot of AT&T iPhone users is a different matter. I don't think they stole that many so far. I think when the next iPhone comes out, they will see a big influx.

What do you mean? Google phones are MADE for rooting and flashing custom ROMs.... and in fact the Nexus 1 and Nexus S both have CM7.

I said what I said because Verizon changed their closed ways for a iphone... Not sure why they wouldn't do it for an Android phone. The nexus phones are sellers as well and if they really want to take away users from all carriers (not just at&t) they need to have one in their line up.
They will be able to take advantage of having the fastest network (while they still can) with a 4G nexus phone.
Talk about killing it! They would rape the competition having an iPhone and a 4G nexus phone.
The time is now if they are smart.

xoom was only stock because they didnt have time to mess it up, not because moto was trying to be ambivalent. They wanted to rush it out before the ipad2.

Why. I had a nexus one running cm7 and now I have a Tbolt running cm7. Yes there's a lot of development support for the device but im happy with the tbolt.

Hello sensation

So yes another one of these threads. I'm not bashing on the g2x at all it is a great phone... However since I upgraded to it and had hardware issues software issues even after the gb update I did what any upset customer would do. Called tmobile and complained then filed a bbb complaint after recieving 4 replacement phones. They then responded by offering me the sensation. YES it was worth it. This phone imo is truely better it functions flawlessly no lag no dropped signal no WiFi issues and great data connections.
So if any of you are in the process of deciding to keep or swap. Take my word for it and just get rid of your headache and get the sensation. It's 100% worth it.
Best decision made so far regarding phones.
And yes I know this is one giant run-on my phone typing and grammar skills with autocorrect and the new keyboard is a little shakey.

So, my teen daughter is getting a phone for x-mas.

It just arrived through ups.
Its the LG G2X, and I'm extremely jealous looking at all the cool features it has, not to mention it's dual core.
I just took it out of the box, and looked at it.
Didn't turn it on or anything, because, well, its her Christmas present...
So i am pleading to you guys to give me some good reasons why I shouldn't stick my phone in that box, and pretend that's the new phone she got, while I sneakly keep the g2x as if it has been my phone all along.

Octane 3.0 themed version. Gotta wait until its available and you've tried it before jumping ship Other than that, umm I moved to a G2X myself. But I still have the SGS4G. Umm reasons to stay with it..... battery lasts noticeably longer, screens brighter, speakers alot louder! Other than that I love my G2X

Yeah, the g2x does look pretty badass.
Oh well, guess I'll just have to be satisfied with modding and hacking it for her, lol.
Best of all is, it was free, just by adding it to my family plan.

I wouldn't. I had a g2x and it had massive problems. They may have worked them all out by now but if its still the same quality as when it first came out then it is some garbage.

Software, or hardware?

Nah, I think there's still some life to come onto this phone yet.
I have been around since the kb5 enhanced days, and i know we go through slow periods here, but there is always something new on the horizon.

Well, she got lucky they are giving them away for free.
I mean it would be kind of stupid getting a lesser quality phone for the same price ($0), just so my phone would be better.

My dad gave me a g1 when he had a blackberry pearl that was old and my mom had a verizon pay phone. Yes, he payed contract price for it. So ya, you should be as kind as that. Also, my dad also gave me the SGS4g, but my whole family has an SGS4g

Plus, she's been a good kid.
She just got her from Brazil this year, and has made tremendous progress in learning English, and getting good grades in school.
And ill be happy with modding the phone to her taste.
Just likei do to my wife.
In a way, this is still a present for me, because the most enjoyment i get of a phone is modding it.
