Since there is no quit option for browser, there are only two ways to close the browser: back button or home button.
Now here is the problem: if I clicked a link from an app, say twitter, and the link was automatically redirected several times (for example, redirecting to a mobile site). After I finished reading on the browser, it is hard to go back to the original app.
If I clicked back button, it will go back one page and then redirect me again to the webpage. I have to hit back three times quickly.
If I hit the home button, I will be at the home screen...
What is the best solution?
Hold down the home button to bring up a list off recently used apps.

Whilst still in the browser, tap the menu button then tap the windows option. From there you can close any and all browser windows.

This its how you do it. Personally though,i go the quick back button route, so I don't have a bunch of windows open.

I've been having an issue lately with the stock browser's search feature. The issue only occurs while I am already on a website that is not my homepage. If I click on the search Magnifier icon or start typing in the browser my screen automatically jumps to my homepage. As well, when I'm trying to type in a website and press enter it will go to the website momentarily and jump back to my iGoogle search homepage. Lastly, I used to be able to copy a pictures URL by long pressing the pic, selecting View Image and copying the address in the Address Bar. Now on the other hand, when I long press to highlight the address I get the pop-up with view image, save image and set as wallpaper.
Has anyone heard of this issue? Would there be any way to fix it, short of a factory wipe?
anyone else since updating to JB get the constant 'abt:blank' tab open with another tab whenever you click an internet bookmark??
on the pics below the first one is where ive pressed my facebook bookmark and so the browser has opened up with the other tab there, and then second pic is where ive hit the x to close facebook but hitting x to close the blank tab doesnt shut that......
ALSO clicking my 'internet' icon\app will not load a window with my home screen!! only an about:blank window!!!
Come on guys someone please tell me they have got the same problem?
If you set a custom homepage then you choose default it sets custom as homepage and doesnt do blank page anymore. Atleast thats what worked for me
I upgraded to the ver5.0.2 build 7sqr-uer0 and after the phone rebooted itself all of my home screen web page shortcuts were deleted. I created the web page shortcut using chromes add to home screen menu located on chromes browser over flow menu. Second part. When I now use add to home screen to save a web page the screen goes dark for ±10 seconds and recovers to my homee screen no short cut created. I have done a hard reboot and uninstalled all browser updates . At first I wanted to uninstall chrome the system said no. I do not want to do a reset. Suggestions to this noob is appreciated.
I'm trying to get used to the new Android 10 gestures. So far I've figured out how to do most things, but there's one thing that's eluding me...
With the old navigation, if I was on, say, the 5th page of my home screen (I have a lot of home screens), I could quickly jump back to the first (main) home screen page by hitting the home button. I have all of my most important stuff on my main page (obviously), so I need to be able to get back there quickly.
With the new navigation, I can't seem to find a way to pop back to the first page (other than by swiping back through the pages one by one). Does anyone know of a quick way to get back there?
