[Q] Factory VMobile US APN Settings - Motorola Triumph

May I please ask a few of you xda members to post your apn settings?
Free app APNBackupRestore on the market will dump the settings to the sd card.
What came on my phone out of the box is full of foreign telcos and cannot be the correct settings .

The folks over at howard forums said APN is for GSM phones, not CDMA when I asked if they might have something to do with the inability to wifi-tether. Are you sure they are relevant to the Triumph?

No, I'm not sure. Just trying to diagnose why my mms's don't work. I didin't know they were specific to GSM networks.

...because the developers haven't written it in the software... it doesn't remember settings on reboot
i was hoping the dev's would further develop this app, but it has been at 3.0.8 for months now... so i think it has been deserted.
does the job though...

This Android application emulates the SIM card of the chosen operator and makes paid apps accessible in the Android Market. You need it if you want to buy apps and games from Market, but Market is not (yet) available in your country or for your operator.

Thank you for doing this! I have a stupid question, but I have to ask it, because I don't know how MarketAccess works.
Can you (or anybody) confirm that only the market is fooled? By this, I mean, I want to be sure that neither my telco nor the telco I'm spoofing will charge me for roaming and that any data I actually download while spoofing my location will still go through my normal APNs?
Thanks for your answer.
MarketAccess emulates SIM numeric of the chosen operator. My local provider APNs continue to work fine with no extra charges when I have T-Mobile emulated.
However, it may affect other applications which also depend on the SIM numeric. For example, the APN Settings dialog will start to show the APNs valid for the emulated provider (SIM numeric = MCC+MNC in the APN settings). To be on the safe side remove the APNs for the emulated provider or change the APN server to your local one, but with the MCC/MNC of the emulated provider.
In theory it may alert such application as WaveSecure and SIM Checker. But I have WaveSecure installed and it seems to live fine with the emulated SIM numeric. One user reported that SIM Checker also works fine.
If you feel paranoid, then just disable the GPRS/EDGE/3G using APNdroid or Toggle Data and buy/download the applications via WiFi. Once downloaded, restore your original SIM numeric and enable data transfer.
Thank you for your comprehensive answer!
SIM Checker dev here. I can confirm that there are no problems with MarketAccess, since the SIM numeric value is not used to determine if the SIM card has been changed.
ok i get what it does but what special apps do you need this to get?

You need MarketAccess to buy any application from Market in the countries where paid applications are not listed in the Market. Is that the answer you were looking for?
so being in the us there is really no need for it? or are there specific apps that can only be seen using this

Developers can choose where to distribute their applications. So we can guess that there are some apps limited to certain countries. I don't know of any specific examples.
thats more of what i was looking for was specifics

you need to run the connection setup wizard, or add the Nokia APN directly
not sure if the wizard is available to Nokia given its an HTC app but adding the APN is dead easy
what network you on?
If you go to your marketplace and under nokia collections, there is a nokia app called Network Setup. Install that so everytime you put in asim, it'll automatically download the APN settings for your carrier.

yeah they couldnt help cuz windows devices are not supported by them. Funny thing i noticed even though i cant access the internet every now and then i would get emails or notifications from facebook or whatsapp. wifi off, also the 4g icon is always there.
That's odd, those settings are from their own website for proper WP device, the HD7, sounds like something else is wrong here, consider changing radio rom or reflashing

[Q] Net10 MMS Settings

Hello everyone! I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, this is my first time posting on the forums for my own thread. currently, I'm running Randomblame's amazing Jelly Bean ROM for my Inspire 4G. I recently got it on Net10, and have updated my APN settings alreayldy to what I was given by them. I'm on AT&T and I have internet working, texting, calling, and can send things. However, everytime anyone sends me anything via MMS, I don't get it. It just says message not downloaded, or says nothing at all. When I tap on the notification, it takes me to send a brand new text. I don't know what is wrong, and I've tried a bunch of things.
Can anyone please help me? maybe someone has Net10 and working MMS data and can please post their APN settings.
Thank you everyone for reading. sorry if this is in the wrong section, if it is, could a mod please move it?
Thank you again everyone! ^_^

[Q] Add APNs (access point names) to android system database

I have made a custom ROM based on 4.1.2, but Android misses many APNs, including my network operator. I would like to add it.
Where does Android store APNs?
Is there an updated database with almost every provider that I could integrate into the system?

What is your carrier?
Please elaborate. Actually Android automatically gets all your network settings by default. Give a try by sending SMS to your network operator for network settings.

If I factory reset the phone, I can put a Three or Vodafone SIM card in, the APN will set automatically. If I put a TalkMobile (TalkTalk) SIM in, the APN does not set automatically. There is no apparent SMS information reaching the phone.
I wonder where that APN information is coming from. I presume Android has the APN information in a database somewhere.

I have found a source of information for APNs.
See the Android source code here:
https://code.google.com/p/android-s...xml?repo=device--sample&name=android-4.2.2_r1
Now I need to discover where this information is stored, and find a way of changing it!

The access points database for Android 4.1 is in
/system/etc/apns-conf.xml
Talktalk / talk mobile provide information for APN here:
http://help2.talktalk.co.uk/settings/android-phone-settings#
However, the information they provide is false. Username and password must be unset.
I added the following before </apns> at the end
<apn carrier="TalkTalk"
mcc="234"
mnc="15"
apn="mobile.talktalk.co.uk"
mmsc="http://mms.talktalk.co.uk/servlets/mms"
mmsproxy="212.183.137.12"
mmsport="8799"
type="default,supl,mms"
/>
The phone will now give an option for TalkTalk APN, which I just need to select.
Now it is a matter of committing this entry to the official android repository. Of course, whilst I was at it, I replaced the whole apn database with the one from the Android repo.

Method to obtain MSL and clear details for Sprint devices?

I'm processing a large quantity of Sprint devices and need a way to clear the "Phone #" and "User ID" address that is always stored in the phone details. They are almost all older mobile platform before android, some are windows based. All of them still retain the info after a factory reset and RTN# and SCRTN# prompts me to enter the MSL. Normally they go through a drill press, but I've been trying to process them without destroying them lately. I ordered a Cellebrite UME-86 Pro because someone said it might have a way to read the MSL for different devices. I'm still waiting for it to arrive, but was wondering if there were any other solutions for this? I tried CDMA workshop, but the demo was essentially useless for my needs. The news page has the last post from 2013, is this software still supported or updated? Any alternatives to this also? Sprint phones are the only phones that I'm having trouble with, I checked with Sprint in-store, contacted via phone, and online chat, but the reps could not help me without an account to reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Which part in particular are you referring to? I don't believe the IOThiddenmenu applies since these aren't galaxy phones or even android based. I tried all of the codes listed in "dialer codes" in that thread. Some had no effect, others prompted me to enter the MSL code just like RTN and SCRTN did.
Thanks.
well,
CDMA workshop modded
will be a option but no legal.
Any other ideas or suggestions?
