i'm currently looking at the incredible s from virgin mobile (canada) and the nexus s from koodo.
i prefer koodo or virgin, but then again i like the incredible s better.. it has sense ui and also a better camera.
is it worth going to virgin for their phone, or would staying with koodo be better? i heard virgin's not that great.
I love my Incredible S, but just be aware that it's not getting an update to HTC Sense 3.0 (or at least not without rooting the thing). The HTC Sensation however ships with that onboard, if that's an option?
i heard that the incredible s and desire s were getting it though
and 4.3" is a little too big for my tastes
I'd double check that, and just something to be aware of.
HTC may decide to be kind in Canada and leave us Brits out in the cold!

Anyone heard any info if there will be an 850/1900mhz 3G version of the desire s? I have not seen anything to hint this, cause i really am thinking of picking this phone up as my next device. also I believe that HTC does not sell their phones thru retailers like other manufacturers. meaning i cant go to amazon and buy an unlocked HTC phone. is this correct? if so that kinda makes it difficult.
There definitely will be one. Telstra in Australia has announced they will be selling it once released. Just search "desire s Telstra"

that's awesome news. let's just hope it comes with both 850 AND 1900mhz, since telstra i think only needs 850mhz for 3g (2100 too i think). the hard part now, where do i buy it unlocked? i dont think HTC sells phones unlocked, only deal thru carriers. at least i think.
strangely the incredible s listed on HTC website lists tmobile USA bands AWS called out specifically. this is why i thought no ATT version was coming. i mean if they call out AWS specifically then they would do the same for the telstra version with 850/1900...thanks for the info!
Hopefully one of the Canadian carriers picks up this phone too! I'm itching to replace my HTC Legend.
I like the matte black, aluminum unibody design, and screen size.
For sure I hope so. I've been testing the huge screen inspire, and the slcd is insanely power efficient. It won't break 230mA on max brightness, even lower on auto around 150mA. Meanwhile my nexus one destroys power at 650mA showing a white page.
Add in the more efficient CPU at 45nm and the desire s is gonna get superb battery life with its rather large battery and perfect screen size. I can't wait.
Well, I bought my Desire S unlocked without branding, so....

I personally think the HTC Inspire 4G is the best Android device out there on the ATT network, but was curious what the consensus is (if there is one). My son is interested in getting an Android soon and wants to know what the current top model is on ATT. Slightly related, are there any new models coming down the pike for ATT that might be worth waiting for?
Imspire is your best bet. My buddy tried the atrix and ended up with the inspire. Like i told him in the first place.

The problem with the Inspire is that it is year behind. I bought one and ended up giving it to my son. It's not 4G. It's very slow browsing even slower than my Samsung Galaxy S. Also, it has no 2100 MHz band for Europe (if you travel there) and no front facing camera.
I'd wait for something better. I'm waiting for the Infuse which is due out any time.

Does anybody use this phone on Tmobile USA? I am looking to upgrade from my vibrant and get a HTC phone. Was thinking nexus one but I kind of like the looks of this phone better. Not really interested in the 4.3 Inch screen of the Sensation 4G.
I had a T-Mobile G2 from launch and just about killed it. I had to get a phone out of necessity and got the Samsung Galaxy nexus as a temporary replacement.
I really do not like this phone lol. I miss sense and was holding out in hopes of T-Mo getting the HTC one x+ but that didn't happen.
So I pose the question of should I get the T-Mobile one s or get an unlocked one from expansys or just wait it out. I live in an area that was refarmed to 1900mhz so I could get the one x+ or even a droid DNA if I manage to get an unlocked one.
But with those last two choices I'd have to be able to live with 3g instead of HSDPA.
I think I could probably get a free upgrade since I bought this phone unlocked from Google but I can't make up my mind. I also can't stand aosp anymore though. I really want sense lol.
Thanks in advance.

My wife's MyTouch 4G Slide has a dead microphone and is no longer available from T-mobile. This is one of the two approved replacement/upgrades from the phone insurance/warranty company. What do you like? What do you hate? What kind of problems do you have? The choice is between this and a HTC amaze 4g. Just looking for all the details before I pick a junk phone since I know nothing about either of these devices.

This phone is probably a lot better than the amaze 4g....htc's tend to get motherboard issues a lot...this is the best keyboarded phone available hands down
Not a fan of the amaze 4g, the doubleshot (mytouch 4g slide) was a great phone but this one beats it in most ways other than camera, your wife will be happy with it so long as you root it and get rid of touchwiz

Thanks for all your input everybody. She has been using my old Samsung gs2 for a day now as a spare phone and proclaimed today via text that he hates it and also Samsung as a result. I went with the HTC since that's what she is used to in a smartphone ui.
