Hi guys,
I'm not able to install some AOSP apps in a stock HTC Sensation RUU. I've cooked it in a ROM, but beyond that, changed nothing; just so I could flash it via CWM and not loose CWM Recovery.
But the app doesn't install. I've tried everything:
Installing it normally - application not installed
Installing it via Root Explorer in /system/app - app does not install, even when I reboot. I have set the correct permissions
Flashing it together in the ROM, both in /data/app and /system/app - does not install.
The only thing I haven't tried is flashing it after flashing the stock ROM in CWM. I'm going to try that now.
So, people, any solutions? Installing the app works fine in Android Revolution HD, so it must be a file in that ROM that is affecting this. Installing other AOSP apps (such as Browser or Calculator) in the stock ROM works fine.

I am running the FRG01B build that was manually updated and am rooted with rom manager. I want to install a new rom using rom manager so I can overclock my phone but really do not want to lose my data/apps or have to redownload the apps (I have 209 apps installed). I have MyBackUp Pro and tried to backup everything on the phone but after it has shown "backing up apps" and it is trying to upload my apps to the online servers I am always getting an error. Here is my question: If I don't wipe data when installing a new rom, will it work and if not what will happen? Basically what I want is to install a new rom and after everything installs, my phone is the exact same except the rom itself (app shortcuts are in the same place, ect. Is this possible? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
I just flashed cm7 through cwm and it's great, but it seems that cm7 installed rom manager, when i open rom manager, it shows that i have the option to flash cwm again. Why doesn't rom manager recognize that i already installed cwm? or is it a seperate copy?
Another question, where can i get more themes for cm7? [disregard this, just saw the themes and app subforum]
Last question, if i where to buy a game from the google market, would it forever permanently linked to my google accounts? so if i were to flash a new rom, it would allow to d/l my paid game again?

I'm trying to update my rom on my EVO from 2.3.2 to this new rom but when i initiate the install it reboots then aborts. I'm using rom manager to install it. Also is there anyway to install this new rom without clearing all of my apps and contacts ect..?
Try installing it through CWM. I'd download it on a computer then put it on your SD. Sometimes the roms don't download correctly so you can just try dling it again as well.

First of all thnx for the effort, I am really a fan of stock and lite ROMs.
However, recovery gets reset itself while flash this rom, and after reboot I find some essentials apps are missing, like LG Email. Can you confirm that is the case, I tried 2 times both times it gets crashed during flashing and restart the phone. I guess because of some essential apps that are missing during the flash procedure.

This apps are deleted and i dont know why f.e. lgmail is showing, but after some time problem is gone(missed apps not showing).
Good to see few new attempts on ROMs... Hope guys like you will be ready for the GB customised ROM once released by LG by the end of November

Using root explorer, I deleted the Calendar apk that was already there and I was even dumb enough to remove the other Calendar files (one of them was a .odex file and I can't remember the other one). Then I copied the Jellybean Calendar to system/app and set the permissions to r-w-r-r and then I tried to install but I get "Replace app?
This is a system app. All your user data will be saved." before installing, then I tap OK and install but I get "App not installed" every time. Is there a way that I can get any Calendar apk to install successfully?

stock rom? ICS i presume? well, just flash another set of gapps http://goo.im/gapps/ choose the ics one, and you should get your data back since it's synced with Google Calendar.
If you're using ics, unmodified jb gapps cannot be installed, because jb has api level 16, while ics has only level 15, so don't try this
I'm actually running a Jellybean ROM but I tried flashing the ICS gapps which only resulted in FC's and a JB gapps which I found on the internet didn't work either...

Reflash the ROM then

Well, reflashing the ROM made the Calendar app appear in the apps, but I can't open the app and get a force close as soon as I select Calendar. I now also have the other calendar files appear in root explorer but I just can't open it...

Clean install? If not, make a wipe, if you did, try another port, if you're using the SDK build, try the GN port, vice versa

...And now it works! I was hoping that I didn't need to do this, but a full wipe worked. Thanks
