I ment is does it vibrate in a pattern? Apps do 3 fast pulses when they are forced to close by the system when something goes wrong.

I'm having an issue with my nexus s 4g. When I'm on stock Tom non rooted eeverything works fine. When I root and put on different roms my phone acts weird. When I have a different rom on when I'm charging my phone everything is fine. As soon as I take the phone off and let the screen turn off for about 15+ seconds the screen won't turn back. The only way to turn the screen back on is removing the batteru and reinserting it. I've tried different roms but I'm having the same problem. I went back to stock in the meantime while I try to figure this out. Thanks in advance

R u using a different kernal that has deep idle...try turning that off...also...what roms r u trying??
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium App
I don't change any kernels. I do a lot of underclocking. I keep it at 1000 Max and 100 low on demand mode but when my screen is off I keep it at 100 max and low. I've tried different gingerbread roms. Today I tried the aosp rom and it did the same thing so I'm assuming its something with my phone

It's not the roms or the phone. You can't clock the processor down that low when screen is off. It will never wake up.

alright. Ill change it tomorrow and see wat happens. I was enjoying aosp rom. How low do you recoomend?

It's better to ask the kernel dev about clock speeds
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
I figured out that its set CPU which is affecting my phone. I'm on aosp ics from and its working great without it. As soon as I enable set CPU my phone starts acting weird.

Yeah, because you clocked it too low. When your remove setcpu, it returns to the kernels stock clock speeds. Don't blame the program....it's works just fine for everyone else.

when I did the adjustments to the setting it made my phone constantly reboot. I got rid of the app and my phone is fine. I never had an issue with it when I had it on my HTC evo 4g

Because you clocked it too low. I think anything below 800 while sleeping well prevent it from waking. You can't clock it at 100 max.

My Tbolt seems to have lost its ability to vibrate on calls, texts, notifications or whatever else would make it vibrate. Even when changing the ringer volume to vibrate it doesn't work like it used to. About 10% of the time it works. Also I noticed the back lights on the 4 capacitive buttons aren't lighting up when they should. They randomly come on and off sometimes. Is this a sign of some hardware issues and as a result do I need to get a replacement or can someone help me out? Thanks!

Assuming you're rooted, try another Rom. If it is still not working, then yeah it might be a hardware issue.
Also, WIPE everything. Format the system partition as well.
Oh and uh, GO CANES!!

I'm stock rooted. Might have to go back to liquid gingerbread like I was before. I'll give a reset a go. Thanks!

For some roms there are options to turn off the lights for the 4 soft keys and also disable vibrate. So thats another possibility

You need to reflash your kernel
I have had the exact thing happen and it was a bad kernel from dev or a bas flash

So I've noticed this strange bug ever since I've had the phone. Sometimes after turning the screen on, my screen won't register touch input properly - ill try to do my pattern unlock and it'll just jitter around and not work. After turning the screen off and on again its fixed. Anyone else have the same problem? It's happened on stock and every other rom I've used.

Sounds like a hardware issue.
Please post questions in the q&a section

Never had the home screen bug happen even once on my device... Its a bit irritating but not that bad. It never happens after the screen has been on, only right when you turn it on
Ah oke. We better pray for the jelly bean update then! Haha
