Samsung Galaxy S2 Camera.apk (tested) - Samsung Infuse 4G

Just thought that I should share this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1057653
It pretty much works.
I'm hoping that a dev such as Frooty would take a look at this and apply his modifications. There is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104051 but it doesn't work on the Infuse.
Edit: I just realized that it pretty much works ON Infused v2. I never tried it on other ROMs.

meh, it works ok. no flash though, i wonder if that could be fixed. i still have to see what mode actually work, on the captivate the modes above 5mp were actually saving in 3.2mp or something.

What ROM are you on Dani? Flash works, auto-flash doesn't on mine. 8mp works, I checked the resolution of the file and it's the correct resolution.
edit: turns out that anti-shake doesn't work with auto-flash. So you can have auto flash if you turn anti-shake off.

infused 2.0.0 stable.
I think the quickview app or lib messed up the flash, I couldn't even use the flash with a 3rd party flashlight app. I removed quickview and restored the infuaed camera app and the flash works again.
does the app work without quickview? i wonder why that app and lib are included in the .zip

I haven't tested without quickview. I have both the app and lib in my system.

odd, i wonder why it broke my flash and not yours?

Hmm i tried it and flash works even with anti shake for me... also i know its not meant for our devices so it should be glitchy/buggy, but is it only MY infuse? or your video is off-sync even on 720p, also 1080p recordind actually records it but the screen is black until you hit the record button?

It's auto flash that doesn't work with anti shake. Manual flash works. Also, 1080p records but the resulting file is in 720 p.

Its your audio off sync too? and im sure i cheked i got antishake and autoflash at same time and working :S idk

Skype Video for G2X - Works Now - Download from market :-)

Finally,
Its available now.
Update your skype and enable it from the settings.
By default the Video is "off". So you will need to go the skype settings and enable it from there.
The Quality of the video is not that great but well its a start
I tried it on my G2x running CM7 nightly 151 and couldn't get it to transmit any video -- wouldn't even display locally on my screen in the little window that comes up in the lower left corner. I tried front and back cameras and even disabled video and re-enabled it. Still nothing. It may work on stock and may even work on later nightlies, I dunno. Google Talk video chat works fine for me so maybe Skype requires some updated libs?
Just passing on my experience.
I see that the front camera orientation while video calling is upside down. Anyone to confirm my observation???

I have the same thing going on as you, except I'm on Weapon G2x (2.3.3 Rom), it said skype wasn't 'officially supported' on my phone though. Nice to see it's almost there though

True, but if you turn the phone in landscape mode the video will be in the correct position.

Not just landscape mode, you gotten disable rotation and zooming to make video work properly? Anyone receive a SMS through carrier while on video chat and and video get distorted? Mines did but MAYBE because I wasn't on wifi, my thought only..

realized that in a skype conversation. my Phone is now complete!
Just tried it on a Froyo rom and I saw my wife's video feed for like 3 seconds and then it made my phone reboot. So close ... yet so far.
I think one of the android blogs mentioned that it was only good for landscape.
I tested everything on Stock 2.3.3 and the only thing for video to show up correctly is in landscape mode. Leave the auto-rotate checked, it doesn't fix anything. Picture is so-so but at least FFC works which is better than nothing...
Interesting how they rolled it also out to the Nexus One (works and looks great) yet no FFC so what's the point? LOL
Nice! not great but something is better than nothing

Camera bug with ICS?

I and a coworker who also has a transformer have experienced an issue with the camera. When changing from normal camera mode to panorama mode the camera fails to initiate and doesn't turn on. It's just a black screen.
Anyone else run into this same issue ? It happens vice versa also, from panorama to camera or to video.

Hmm. Well glad me and my buddy aren't the only ones.
So how do we report this bug officially to Asus is the next question.....

Did you update using CWM? I don't have this bug and I updated from OTA.
Same here
Completely stock, B90, SBK2, OTA update. Panorama closes camera app.

Clearing the camera app's cache allowed me to actually use the camera again.
hope Asus (or devs) fix this, would really like to be able to use panorama mode
For the record, I flashed the rooted zip posted here.
It's fine for me. I used the Full CWM file along with a Format...not a wipe
Same issue here, stock unrooted, OTA update B50.

If the rest of the stuff works it's absolutely not worth it trying to fix it. The picture quality it makes is just crappy. Maybe it's the lighting or I am turning it too fast. This is how it looks like.
Same bug here.
B6O
CWM rooted ics.. wiped all
I never use the camera so happy to wait for fix from Asus..
think we need more detailed info to pin this down because i'm not having this issue with my tf. weird that several of you are.
Workaround Fix for Panorama Bug
The panorama camera bug is related to security>screen lock feature in ICS.
I did a full wipe to get the camera working and then I realized it only stopped working after I had set a pin on it.
Apparently if you set it as a pattern, pin, or password it will cause the panorama feature to lock up.
The only way to get it working is by setting your security>screen lock to "none" or "slide".

Wow, good diagnosis. I'll have to try that see if I can also replicate this fix. Unfortunately I need to use a pattern or some sort of lock code. Prying eyes lol. Oh well. I don't really use my tablet as a camera anyways. I just wanted to show off panorama to someone

confirmed.
I put a pattern and when switching to panorama the camera went black then crashed as I switched to normal.

I can confirm panorama worked after removing the PIN feature. I chose the security locksreeen option of None without issue. When I turned PIN back on, it was the same black screen. According to logcat, I didn't see much other than the camera activity being destroyed an activity pause timeout for the PanoramaActivity.
Such an odd thing to cause camera activity to cease. Why in the world is a lockscreen causing issues with switching camera modes? Oh well. Like I said. I can live with it, hopefully a fix is found and pushed to our devices

What version of CM9 are your on? Anythiny lower than Alpha 6 will have camera issues. There are two types of cameras for the DS. So there needs to be two kinds of drivers. The fix was implemented in A6. A simple reboot will work. If not just power off and do a battery pull. Count to 10, and power on.

i'm on alpha6, but i've changed to stock rom for a bit. i want to mess with all the camera functions it does. by any chance do you know how to disable the auto-cap function? there isn't a box to check or uncheck it.

MagicMod Camcorder not works.

Hello. Need some help. Flashed JellyBean MagicMod on my Atrix 2 MB865 (was on ICS leak#1). DEscription of the ROM says that face camcorder not work. OK. But I've encountered with back camcorder not working. It starts record normally, but when I press stop button it says that Camera error. There is video clip in gallery, but it can't be opened. Is there any solution? I have read all thread about this rom. Help.
a couple of lines below that clearly states that camera/camcorder is not working on any custom camera app , you need either go back to ics, wait till dev figure it out or live with it

You are right about custom app. But I'm trying to use system cam app and getting such error. Other people said about fully working rear camera video recording.
Camcorder not working is a known issue for CM10 and MagicMod. If camcorder or camera are important to your phone use, then you need to use a Moto Rom. You can try other apps and playing around with the included camcorder to try and get it to work (i think some have), but I wouldn't hold my breath or rely on the camera or camcorder working at 100%.
I got the camera working fairly well with CameraZoom FX although it takes very noisy pics. Camcorder never really worked for me on CM10 or MagicMod, but I never used it to begin with so I don't miss it and have not played around with trying to get it to work.

Problem with 3rd party camera apps when flash enabled (cameraNext is ok)

Hello,
I just noticed really weird effect on photos and it seems to be software issue. Look at this 2 images.
This one was taken using CameraNext, everything is fine:
This one was taken with GoogleCamera:
Most weird everything is ok if I don't use flash. But with flash, only stock camera is ok, any other app will make photo with this effect? Did you noticed the same??
Just to clarify...
I have one (broken screen) oneplus one with the same issue I just order the screen and charger plug, however was thinking about taking the phone to a camera repair center to get the issue fixed because was thinking about a flash sync issue or one of the 2 flashes is lighting more than the other... well, I've always used the default app. What you say is if I install a 3rd party camera app it's going to work fine? Yes, I should try it first before ask but my cell is not ready yet to be used and I just want to make sure. Thanks for advance....
