Carrier billing - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The option to bill to my Sprint account is gone, anyone else seeing this?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App

The app has to be in US dollars to bill to the carrier.... It converts it for you automatically but if it's not originally in dollars the option will not be there.... Also you can only carrier bill from your phone... It will not work for the web market

Well I had ATT and I left because of the lack of android phones. I went to sprint and found I had no signal at my house. So I used the prl hack do I could run on Verizon towers at sprints price and their phones. Just my 2 pennies. Plus you get real 4G.

Unlock the phone. Look into simple Mobile. The money you save is more than enough to make up the fees of breaking a contact.

Unlocking the phone will allow you to use sim cards from other networks. My phone is unlocked and allows me to use att. I also was able to use prepaid Sim cards when I was in Japan.

Look into simple mobile, great plans, unlimited everything 60 bucks flat no tax, 4g. If you can access Tmobile lines were you are you can use simple mobile.same towers.
I May be mistaken, but you should be able to use Tmobile prepaid without unlocking.

Need phone outta contract

How can I get my phone meid unlocked so that I can send it to beigephone and get it flashed to page plus. This DFB didn't pay her bill so I'm stuck with a bolt I can't do anything with but Wi-Fi use any ideas
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda app-developers app
I guess is that it's not possible fml
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda app-developers app
i have no intentions of flashing to another carrier, but several thunderbolt users i've seen have been able to flash to pageplus. you may need CDMA workshop if you want to do it yourself, i think CDMA workshop is around $100.00. there's a free demo version too, but i'm not sure that the demo would be sufficient to do this.
check this out:
http://www.beigephone.com/flash-htc-thunderbolt-to-page-plus/
and this one, probably the most useful:

Yea dude I know all that I need the meid freed from a contract

I'm not sure that you can 'unlock' an meid yourself, that's something the carrier has to do (with stolen phones and whatnot)
So if it's on her account, she'll have to get in touch with them herself and give her IMEI number and account details. They should then give an unlock code to make the phone usable again.
If that IMEI number has been flagged (as stolen or possibly delinquent) even an unlocking service won't be able to help you until the carrier clears it.

What you are looking for is to CLEAR the MEID/IMEI so that it can be used on another account.
You can't do that. Only the carrier can. Until the account is settled/paid with the carrier, that MEID/IMEI will be associated/assigned to that account and therefore can't be used on a different account.
Since PagePlus uses VZW towers/service (to my knowledge), you're stuck until the old account issues are settled.
Yup I'm stuck with Wi-Fi only thunderbolt this sux I guess she won in the long run although I have seen some nice prepaid phone's I seen an HTC one and some evo 4g's that have ics and are affordable virgin mobile and boost have unlimited data

So someone else didn't pay the bill for your phone and you're mad about it? Why don't you pay for your own phone?

[Q] Best alternative for text messaging?

We're currently paying $30 a month for unlimited text messaging, but pretty soon everyone in the family is going to have a smartphone. Once everyone is upgrade, we're planning on taking out the texting plan. What are some of the best alternatives for text messaging that also keeps my phone number? The only one I found on the Internet was WhatsApp and Google Voice, and I was wondering if I was missing any. I'd also appreciate it if you could tell me the pros and cons of each. Thank you ^^
U can try we chat

Not sure how you feel about it but I lowered my bill almost 50 bucks by going to the family shared plan. We have 5 smart phones so it made sense for us. Unlimited texting is included.

We thought about it, but since there are only 3 phones in our family, it was more expensive to use the family shared plan.

Does it keep my phone number?
Gosms has a go chat option. Looks like a text message but goes over the WiFi or network I believe. No sure if the recipient needs to use it too though. Also there's like a million themes for it.

Google voice. Its the best.
Best part is you can only hand out your Google voice number and have it ring to your cell phone so no one has your real number. You can change it anytime you want

Question about swapping phones (CDMA/Sprint)

If I threw my phone on Craigslist for a trade, and we met up at a Sprint store, and had the devices switched; is it possible for him to report his device stolen, even if it's transfered to my account?
