Does anybody know the best partition table for the TF? I'm using a used microsd but the partition tables are weird on it and im trying to optimize the card for maximum storage.
you mean best file system?

no, like the size of the partitions. Dont you need a certain size for the swap partition?
there's a TF kernel that supports using the microsd for swap.

Hi alls, I bought a Kingston (8GB class 4) microSD for my TF101.
what format should I format it? ExFat,FAT32,NTFS?
I'm using a rooted device with last Revolution ROM.
thank you very much.
FAT32
If u want to watch mkv 720p files without conversion u will nees NTFS format as it supports files bigger than 4GB. I am using same set up as you and it work without any problems.

The TF101 is missing the option to format the external sd. That way the right filesystem and blocksize would be applied automatically.

There are apps for that. And I think you can do it through shell/terminal too (not sure though)
@Mr.corny, what kind of files do you have ? I have no 720p movie thats over 4GB in size... 1080p is a different matter though...
edit: actually I just found one that was 4.5GB...
Hi.
I was wandering is there any way to format the microSD card on teh TF300T?
If so what is the filesystem used/permited?
I would like to put some home videos, that are bigger than 4Gb, and the Fat32 filesystem doesn't let it.
If you want to use the card in Windows computers as well as the tablet, format it with NTFS. If you're just using it in the tablet, ext4 is the best. Note that Windows doesn't support ext4 (or anything that isn't FAT or NTFS for that matter; it won't acknowledge the card at all), so be aware.
Edit: I don't think you can format the card in the tablet. It was removed from ICS. You'll need to use a computer or an Android phone (pre-ICS).
"I'm a PC." So I will format it to NTFS. Too bad i have to use the computer.
Thank you.
Just formated my microSD to NTFS and it works just fine.
Thank you for the advice.

Thing is, I have this 64gb sdcard which I need to create a 32gb or so ext4 partition on and leave the rest for fat32 but I have NO access to a pc whatsoever for two-three days and I really need to partition today, on the tablet.
Twrp doesn't have any partition option and rom manager does at most 512mb partitions. Help?

my rooted tf201 has fdisk and mkfs.ext2 on it. Perhaps you could use a combination of those to format your disk without using a pc.
Doesn't matter now. I've already sold that piece of metal crap and bought a wifi Nexus 7 32GB ^^

Yup, same concept as putting it into a digital camera or a phone. Sometimes they're better able to format the card and then it'll work in other devices as well.
I had the same problem with both Samsung and Transcend 32 GB microSD class 10 cards. Probably we need a community-driven list with supported flash cards...

Has anyone figured this out? i bought a 32gb sandisk microsd and I'm having the same issue. The tablet won't read it. I've tried to format it on my PC with both NTFS and FAT32 and neither makes a difference. :/

MiniTool partition wizard It can format ANYTHING just make sure to choose "Primary" when creating partitions on the SD card.
Hi,
I'd like to fill it up with some films but fat32 doesn't, as you know, support files above 4 GB.
Is it possible to create a second partition in f.ex. exFat or NTFS?
Cheers.

Internal memory is using ext4, which already supports 'unlimited' file size.
It's because of the MTP. Use PTP for big files.

Oh.. Didn't know it ran on ext4.. Thanks!
