First off, a note: yes we're still working on Caravel (and another game).
Now to the fun stuff:
We created an "exciting" new app this summer to help us out in calculations needed for some projects we are running.
The version attached to this post logs all score to a private special XDA scoreboard, and we would love to hear some feedback!
The description:
WARNING: This application is only for those among us who dare to risk it all to achieve eternal glory.
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, install this application unless you are willing to explore the very edge of your abilities.
Muster every grain of courage you have before starting this application, as only pure dare, strength and dexterity will stand between you and the abyss.
Simply put, we want you to throw your phone as high as you are physically capable of!
This simple, yet devious, goal statement will challenge you, your friends and those unwise enough to challenge you!
As you may have noticed, this app is not supported by either marketing or donations!
Instead the phone will accept calculations to help us solve problems related to the AI and Cryptography fields.
These will only take place when your phone is recharging and not in use. It will stop the instant you start using it again. So under no circumstances will you be inconvenienced by this.
You have our thanks in advance for helping our project!
Eg.: An excellent drinking-game; Height measurement tool; Reflexes; Throwing app
In essence, this app will measure how high you have thrown your phone and allow you to challenge others, achieve achievements, and maintain a global scorelist.
Keep in mind that you should really try to minimize the amount of spin in a throw, as the program cannot handle the added noise.
Features we couldn't include due to restrictions (but are ready, code-wise):
- Camera recording of throw (Minimum ASDK 2.3 for some semblance of stability)
- Rotation detection and compensation (Not fast enough / inaccurate)

I think its a joke, send it to one of your friends n they will try n throw their phone the furthest distance, itll damage their phone lmao good one

It was a study project for us on Signal processing on the accelerometer.
We did some research on trying to detect whether a phone is in freefall when it is spinning by trying to extrapolate 3 vs 2 vectors from the accelerometer using the compass etc.
In the end it worked relatively well, and now it's a small experiment on distributed calculations, made free in a fun app (challenges / achievements and all) to see how popular it could become.
So far 2 people have made it on the XDA highscore list (download the apk from the first post, I'll make an secret option in the market version later on).

For shame good sirs, a maximum of only ~2 meters so far? tsk!

Seriously guys! Apparently there are idiots out there who have already broken the 10+m barrier!

At the moment we're trying to add camera recording to the application, and should have it done in a couple of days!

We updated the program now to have some more extensive signal processing on the fall detection. If you guys could help out by benchmarking and telling is if the numbers are off, you would be helping us out a lot!

I am here to present our new free game, RainDrop!
In this game you are a drop trapped in a toxic rain. The goal is to stay alive as long as you can, and build combos to get the highest score! Avoid toxic drops as they will contaminate you, an don't let larger drops absorb you. You can destroy what's on your way by releasing droplets, but that will make you shrink. Replenish yourself by absorbing drops that are smaller than you.
Some features of the game:
- HD graphics
- Tilt your phone to control the drop
- 3 different game modes, each with its own online leaderboard
- Compete with your friends with Scoreloop!
- 800x480 screen resolution recommended
We've been using the awesome libgdx library to make this game. For those who don't know it, it allows you to write a game an run it on your PC completely independently from Android, and then with 1 extra line of code it's ported to your phone! It's great since you can also make an applet out of your game and people can play it in their browsers (a la Minecraft). I really encourage people that want to develop for Android to use it.

We just released v1.02, the main changes being:
- Added: double-speed button for those who want to avoid the lower speeds at the beginning
- Modified: tutorial is now even shorter
- Modified: combo points are now more visible
- Modified: slightly increased the delay before background transition
- Fixed: toggling HD on/off while in game now works correctly
- Fixed (v1.01): the preferences and local scores are now saved correctly
BTW, if you guys tried it on your phone, could you give a little feedback about the performances you get? We have a HD toggle that you can disable, as we're trying to have this working smoothly even on old phones, so that would be helpful!

This game is pretty fun! I would like for there to be an option to change difficulty. It starts off a bit slow but when it's fast it's really fun!

We've updated the game to version 1.05 to fix some problems with tablets, so again if there is anybody out there that tried it on a tablet we'd be happy to hear your feedback.
We also want to add new bonuses to the game, and are ready to listen to the suggestions of our players so shout if you have an idea
Interesting game. Two suggestions:
1) Allow to calibrate the tilt meter the first time I play. For some reason it was not centered for me correctly and I had to play with a slightly tilted screen.
2) Have a bonus that makes you invincible (like snowflake) but also move down very quickly. The more acid drops you destroy, the longer it lasts. It will add some action to the game I think.
3) As the tutorial is already quite long for a simple game, have some system of not showing ALL the bonuses immediately. Perhaps start with two bonuses, and as the player progresses add more possible bonuses.

My feelings :
- "how to play" at start is unreadable because low quality and actually the menu too.
- menu music is repetitive too much (i think), and engine's sound too ("vroom ... vroom... vroom... ad eternam, noisy).
- stop the "High score submited" for Openfeint when the actual score is not better than the Openfeint's one. (retrieve the openfeint user's score, and only if the new score is better than this one, submit it, and you won't have this notification at each game).
+ it's running totally well on Galaxy nexus (thank God) .
+ controls are OK.
+ addicting !
Works fine on a rooted thunderbolt. Hard to see the cones that are hidden in a row of coins. Also, I think the controls would be better if you could just tap to change lanes or jump and brake instead of swiping.

Once Grandpa Pecos decided to share a secret with his grandson — there's a hidden treasure buried somewhere on the former mine. But there's one problem. The treasure lies very deep underground at a depth of more than 100 yards! Then the grandson thought about his friend, the Mad Digger. He's the only one to get things done.
Your task is to dig deeper and deeper until you find the treasure. It's not as simple as it seems. The oxygen runs out with every descent, you need to extract minerals to improve your equipment and tools as well as to buy grenades and dynamite to make the descent faster. :fingers-crossed:

someone try play my game? I want hear your opinions

I've tried out your app/game! My initial thoughts are:
I've played quite a few miner games (which is one of my favourite genres!) And this one has taken a nice twist on it. I like that I don't have to climb back up to the top to sell my loot. I like that you've kept it simple, with 2 buttons for directions. And the graphics are nice as well.
Pros:
* Blocks that also kill you! Nice addition! Makes sure that the player doesn't just AFK straight down! (However I thought it was harsh that using dynamite (and I'm assuming grenades) result in death if they blow up a "death" block.)
* You've incorporated a few different versions in one game! The first being the "collect minerals and upgrade" and the second being an obstacle course.
Cons:
* I would like it if the black blocks could be destroyed by axe as well. Even if they required 10 hits. It really sucks being trapped and unable to continue on my path.
* Wish I could upgrade the items more than 3 times.
Suggestions:
* Provide a description of each item. Perhaps when you click on the image of it? For example: The Oxygen tank... does it slow the decrease of oxygen? Provide more oxygen tanks? or does it increase the amount of oxygen bonus when you collect a tank?
* Perhaps start the player with 2-3 Grenades/Dynamites/Radwaters so that the player can get "hooked" on these items early in the game and they will become interested in purchasing them!
* Can't see how many gems/minerals I have when I'm purchasing items since it is behind the "Disable Ads" button.
* Add more oxygen tanks below the wall of black blocks so that players can continue to descend into the ground.
Bugs Found:
* When you click the button for the Free 15 Grenades, the popup says 20 Free Grenades, and then you're rewarded with 15 Grenades.
Continue the great work! I'm looking forward to the future updates

This is my first app ever and I'm so happy to be releasing it to everyone finally! Thank you to any/all who help me try it out.
Want to play a game of Tag with anyone in the world? Want to do it without any of that annoying running? Then have I got the app for you!
iGOT - International Game of Tag, is a free game (has a bottom ad) that everyone in the world can play, no physical contact required (or recommended). The basic premise of the game is that you will see a list of those other players in a general vicinity of you (no exact locations given). If you're IT, you can TAG any of those users. However, be careful! They can use Buffs to thwart your incoming tag, or even use a Challenge Buff (within 5 minutes) to challenge you to a duel! Best out of 3 wins and the loser becomes IT! Don't like someone in particular? Maybe their banner annoys you? Use the Vampire Buff to steal points from them when you tag them!
Want to know how many bananas you are from someone? We've got that too! Go to your settings to change your distance units, location update interval, Banner and more!

The game is still very much in development, so I'm happy to receive feedback, bug reports, suggestions, etc. I also don't have very many users yet (~100) so everyone is spread fairly thin, so please don't be discouraged if there's no one in your general area; just spread the word to family/friends and you'll be having a blast in no time!

Fixed a bug in 8.6.2 where Android 10+ (SDK 30) first-time users were unable to initially login. Update 8.6.3 was pushed/approved in the store at 14:00 EST. Sorry to anyone who had any issues!

8.6.4 (Aphrodite) Released
I've just released a small update to the game that now includes an introduction/onboarding activity that gives players the gist of the game on first run. I've also updated the Radar Boost so that, after x32, it searches surrounding "zones" from your current location, giving you way more options for whom to tag.
Can't wait to keep seeing this app grow, since the more people we have the more fun it will be. Thank you so much to anyone who's already downloaded it!
Just released Version 8.7.0 over the weekend and we have started our first event!!! First 100 people to invite 3 friends to download the game, then verify they did by emailing/PMing me their Play Games usernames will get the Flag banners purchasable for free Event ends January 1st!
