So now that I have ICBINB Rom installed, am I limited to my Theme choices? I noticed in the theme section, themes are posted for specific Roms. Is this how it is with custom Roms? Do Themes have to be made custom for the Rom you are using?
I have Go Launcher and Go SMS with all the themes I purchased. Can I use go launcher and Go SMS and all the themes with the ICBINB Rom? I don't want to attempt to install anything that may cause conflict and screw up my phone.
you could use those themes those are just from the launcher am i correct? if so then dont worry you could use any of those without a problem as long as you could run the launcher on there then you could use any theme for that launcher

D1, I'm still a newb to all this, but I do know that some themes are written for specific ROMs, but the only way to know is to flash the theme, before you do, do a nand back-up prior to flashing the theme. That way if it doesn't work, you can go back to your prior working set-up. Hope this works for you.
Im new to this whole rooting rom thing. I just put gummycharged 1.8.5 on along with pbj oc and was wondering if I can install http://www.appbrain.com/app/minimalist-metal-adw-theme/com.david1171.minimalistmetal aswell. I tried and I cannot get it to work from the android market.
Thanks
It sounds like you don't have ADW launcher installed. Go to the Market and search "adw launcher" and download the free version. If you want to apply that theme you'll have to go to the ADW Launcher options and apply it through there.
Yup just install ADW Launcher and then apply. You'll be golden. I'm currently running the Honeycomb theme on ADW
Just be carefull applying system wide themes, unless they were made specifically for the rom your using, otherwise essentially you are changing the rom. For example, say the dev of yiur rom made some tweaks in the framework-res.apk to increase battery life, then you install a theme you found somewhere over the top, now you have lost the tweaks because you just overwrote the framework-res.apk with another one.
As said above though, you can apply any launcher themes without worrying about messing up your rom. hope this gives u a little insight.

+ to What others are saying it is a theme from the marketplace your good just have ADW
so.. basically, I'm looking for the stock sidekick launcher.. not the modded tw4 or HE launcher, but the stock launcher and wallpaper chooser. I miss my easy pet of portrait wallpapers.
Anyone able to pull the stock tw launcher from the stock app and post it? Does it require the framework from the tw rom or will it work with Gingerclone[AOSP]?

pretty sure it needs the tw framework. I can do it tomorrow night but if you want it now there is a dump of all the files on this board
Got it. It worked fine with gingerclone... just moved the stock launcher into "/system/app", rebooted to CWR, fixed permissions and it worked great. Ill attach the apk when I get to a pc

Shooting for the theme chooser next to see if it will work with gingerclone
I just set my phone back to Gingerbread stock and rooted it. I hate the fact that it doesn't show battery percentage. I don't want to put a Rom on my phone so is there any battery indicator mods that will change this on our phone?
search the theme and apps sections, and search the market for theme chooser themes.
one of those should be able to change that on stock ROM.

Theme chooser is only for cm7 based ROMs.
You'll have to find a flashable theme to change that... or use uot kitchen. It's very simple to use.
I have used Rom Toolbox, under Interface/Icon Changer.
UOT kitchen ftw, nothing like theming the rom your own way.

If you flash a theme from the download list in the development forum does it auto install without the ability to remove?
I would like to try some, but hoping they are options to choose similar to choosing a wallpaper.
If you're on a custom ROM then most have a theme chooser to change back and forth between default and whatever else. Also if you're on stock rooted in has to be de-odexed for you to apply themes. If your ROM doesn't have a theme chooser then you can download ROM Toolbox from the Play store and it has a theme chooser as part of it that should allow you to change back to default. I've only messed with themes from the play store but the one you flash shouldn't be too different

^^^Ok, that made it seem very difficult (no offense, poster)
You on stock TW or a TW ROM? No, it doesn't auto-install. Download a theme, go into recovery and flash it. If you're on an AOSP ROM, you have to install the apk then apply through theme chooser. Nothing is automatic.

Thanks guys.
I am on clean rom 4.5.
I'm assuming that if I flash the theme and do not have a theme chooser then the theme will be sitting on my phone somewhere unable to be applied...
I'll just make a backup and then flash it lol.

It really wasn't that bad was it? I just tried to cover all bases. Like he really has to be on a deodexed ROM for almost every theme. I have only seen a few themes for odexed ROMs. And then the rest of it was talkin about theme managers. I do tend to make long posts though and over explain things, only cause most of the newbies on here have to have it broken down like I did when I first started flashing, themeing, and modding......
Anyway
