I've been looking at these two devices, and I love both of their form factors. What does anyone have to say about which one I should get, the features each one has that the other doesn't, etc.? And, is the Iconia SBK-locked, like some of the Galaxy Tab's units?
Aconia
Been there, decided on Aconia A501 which I bought and is great
The USB port is big difference in the two. They all should have it.

Title says it...looking for Tegra 2 tablet...which one would you recommend ?
Dont mind a 7" or a 10".
USB port is also important to me. 2 tabs i have my sight on are galaxy 10.1 and acer iconia a100. galaxy doesnt have usb port but i believe an inexpensive adaptor does the job which i am fine with.
Also can someone tell me, for the top end HD games like asphalt 6 or samurai 2, is there any noticeable difference in the performance between a honeycomb tablet and ipad2 ?
TIA
A decent quality screen with a resolution of ~ 1024x600
Bluetooth
HDMI out (mini, micro, mhl)
and....well that's pretty much it. I seem to find a lot of one or the other. For example the Archos 70 has hdmi out but an 800x400 screen. The Ainol Novo 7(aurora/elf) has 1024x600 and hdmi out but no bluetooth. I thought I'd be allright without Bluetooth but the more I think about it, I use Torque to diagnose people's engine codes sometime and would like to continue doing that with whatever tablet I end up with.
I do like the Motorola Xyboard even though it's 8.2 inches however I can't get that without being tied to verizon for 2 years of their terrible data plan, so that's out =/
Hopefully I'm overlooking something and the answer is right in front of my face.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7
Both available in Wifi only so no need for contracts....

yeah samsung galaxy is a good bet.
I assume they both require a docking station to use HDMI?
Not the ideal solution, but certainly doable. Noted and thank you!
Having a hard time deciding. Options are: Asus TF300T, Acer Iconia A510, Acer Iconia A700 HD.
The main deciding factors are:
- will be used for gaming
- must have Tegra 3 Quad core cpu
- JellyBean
- under 400 euros
The A700 would be my first choice, but some reviews said it lags and it is a little slower then the others. Others said the screen might not be so great (not bright enough). This seems to be caused by the higher screen resolution. Thing is, I don't really need very high res as it may impact gaming performance. However most reviews I saw were old, so Acer may have pushed some updates since then. Also another point in favor of the Iconia is that I plan to use an external keyboard, not like the Asus which comes with its own keyboard/dock.
Another point is that I read that the A700 vs A510 is only about the screen resolution. Is this true? Therefore is the A510 faster because of lower screen res? Would this be a plus for gaming?
Sadly I would love the Nexus 7 as this would check all the boxes, but it's too small. The Nexus 10 is not available for me.
1. Which would be the fastest/lag-less, more swift in general?
2. Would the Iconia A700 be able to run all current 3D android games fluently?
3. Would there be any other choice? If anyone has the time to take a look, please make any suggestions from two stores: fnac and darty. Google for the full links; they are stores in France where I am currently stationed.
Edit: made a mistake in the model name of the Acer tablets, of course they are the A700 and A510. Could a mod please edit the poll, or is there a way for me to correct?
Hi Guys i want to get my son a tablet with out spending a small fortune.
I already have a Lenovo A10-70F and im really happy with it, but i was also looking at the new Acer A3-A40 and not sure which to buy as they are around $149-£179 in price which i want to spend
Specs
lenovo:
Mediatek MT8165 with MaliT760 MP2
Acer:
Mediatek MT8163A with Mali-T720 MP2
Both HD screens, and good speakers. Size wise there pretty much the same.
Is the Acer which is a new tablet worth the extra £30 or is the spec less than the Lenovo.
Can not find any real reviews on the Acer as i think its just recently out.
Any help would be great
Anyone know about the different chip sets? which is better? ie for games
another tablet i've found while cleaning out old stuff is the Acer Iconia Tab A500.
It's has an ok screen, but terribly slow.
Anyone can suggest a ROM i can flash?
or other usages I can do with this tablet?
I've thought of android auto since the screen is quite big, but it's too old and doesn't support it.
