[Q] ADW Launcher Ex icons doesn't change with theme

Hi
When I change the theme on ADW Launcher Ex, some of the icons does not change to the current theme, most notably the ones on the dock bar like the phone, contacts and messages icon. Weirdly though, others do change like the internet, calculator and maps icons.
I can manually create a new shortcut and choose the right icons from the theme icon packs. The missing icons is available in these theme packs but it will not change them automatically when I change the theme.
I also have GO Launcher Ex installed and when I change the theme on that, all the icons bow down to the power of my superiority and change to the current theme. No problems there...
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to fix this.
Not all ADW themers theme the same icons. So when you install a new theme some of the icons don't change.
I would think that the contacts icon would change though for instance because all the theme packs that I have installed have an icon for contacts but none of them updates it with their icon when I change the theme. I know that I'm not the only person with this problem but I can't find a solution. I found a similar thread on samsunggalaxysforum but with no solution.
for the app's icons that should change, i've had to delete the shortcut and put it back, then it changes. otherwise, the icon hasn't been themed.
ok thanks. it doesn't work for me though. if i have york's blue theme active for instance and i create a new icon for internet, it uses the internet icon from york's blue theme but when i create a new icon for messaging, it uses the default samsung touchwiz icon. i can manually change it to use york's blue icon but when i then change the theme again, it still shows the york's blue theme icon and not the new one.
i just installed the same theme on my DInc2 and i get the same results as you. i suppose the switch was overlooked by the author, or it wasn't themed. i do see a couple "message" looking icons, but they could be for other services. i don't really know. but i don't use themes, so i am unfamiliar with alt icons. i like my ADW plain-jane. sorry i couldn't be more help.
you can download icon packs from android market and change icons manualy by clicking on them..there are tons of them on market if i remember correctly.
click on app on your screen > edit > change icon > from adw pack > solved!
thanks guys. i guess thats my only option then. i think i'll use go launcher ex instead because there the themes automatically change the icons and as i like to change the phone theme to suit my mood, it's just too much hassle to change all the icons manually. it's a shame though because adw seems to be smoother and quicker.
adw is preety neat...but i had same problem even when i was trying to instal some themes...most of the icons normaly changed...but a few system apps havent :/ i can recomend MIUI if u're willing to try it
.
Thread moved to Q&A due to it being a question. Would advise you to read forum rules and post in correct section.

i have actually already downloaded cyanogenmod so i'll give that a try first and when i'm tired of it i'll try miui.
Thanks. I installed MIUI v 4 based on ICS and been playing around with it for a couple of days. I like it a lot.
ADW Launcher did exactly the same thing on MIUI so it seems to be something that the developer needs to address.

[QUESTION]CM9/AOKP theme chooser themes?

I want to implement my icons into a theme, and my questions are:
First question: Does the cm9/aokp (prev cm7 themes) have the capability of theming all application icons, including non-system apps?
Second question: Is there a way to make the theme only apply icons, and nothing else.
My goal is to create a theme that is just icons, due to the limitations of the theme chooser (my understanding is one can only have a single theme applied at once). This way someone could apply my icons, and then install a theme via flashing it, to have the best of both worlds.
Any help would be appreciated, I couldn't find an answer otherwise.

I Googled your question to find out that there's one theme in the play store that is a "cm9/aokp (previously cm7 theme)" they actually say they had to port it to cm9 (read the theme's info on play store), anyway the developer says that the icons come in a separate package -for the moment, IMHO and since these people have promised to have the third party apps in the coming weeks, then it is possible as long as there are people who have already been working on it.
Good luck.
Take a look at the Cobalt, Crimson Cobalt, and Purple Kush themes. They work really well and look good, they also theme 3rd party app icons (I noticed ES file explorer and Google Chrome were themed.) You can look through the apk to see the method of third party theming, i'm sure it isn't too hard with the theme chooser implemented.

Turning an icon pack into a CM11 theme.apk?

Could anyone help me make a theme apk that works with the CM11 theme engine out of an icon pack? This is for personal use ONLY and I was wondering how I would go about doing so because I want to have the Google Experience Launcher themed, WITH ART (so no Unicon because it uses Xposed). Thanks!
Anyone?

[Q] Need help coding an icon pack

I'm currently making an icon pack for Android and I'm really struggling getting them to work with the CyanogenMod theme engine. They work fine for Nova launcher, just whenever I apply them in the CM theme engine, they don't show up. Just the stock icons.
I'm using the a PaperBoard icon pack template (http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/material-dashboard-template-t3056580), and here is the appfilter.xml:
AppFilter.xml
I have no idea why it's not working, and I'm getting most of the package names from here:

Unfortunately icon packs can't be applied on a Samsung launcher. You can try theme galaxy app or some of the samsung themes (from envy and others) or download and apply icons within the samsung themes app.
Sorry but without changing launcher u cnt chnge icons.. many themes are availble in xda which have great icons
with Theme Galaxy you can create themes with the icon pack you want... i think is the only solution available without root or another launcher
