I'm looking for an app that is like a "do not disturb" option. On my old blackberry I had an app where you could choose certain apps that you didn't want to be interrupted during their use. For example, if you're playing a game and don't want your progress to be compromised, you could choose not to receive texts, or phone calls during the use of the game but once you exited the game everything was set back to normal.
I have searched for something like this but all I can find are apps that you can choose different times or other situations but nothing where you could isolate certain apps. If there is an app out there with this functionality, please let me know. If there's not anything, could it be done?
I appreciate any suggestions and/or help with this!

I am in desperate need of an app with a certain function; the ability to choose specific apps/games where you are not to be disturbed while the app/game is running. There's nothing more frustrating than if you're in the middle of a game or a download and a text/phone call comes through and screws up everything. I know with my old Blackberry, I had an app to do just this and it was awesome. I know there are apps where you can choose certain days/times not to be disturbed but not specific apps. It's kind of a hassle to open an app, set it to "Do not disturb" play your game and then remember to go back and undo the Do Not Disturb.
Anyone interested in taking on this task?
Why don't you just use the airplane mode? So you won't recib any sms or calls...its just an idea...
Or search for an app calls automate it!...I think you can trigger actions by time...

I was surfing through the android market days ago and found some interesting news, non pleasant ones i may say.
I took the applications Granny Smith and Big Great War Game to give it a go, installed them, and failed to check the onscreen advice, so install was successfull.
The applications were working properly, tested it, but i noticed my notification bar had an extra app going, ads mostly, regarding other available purchases. Yes i know some apps do this on a regular basics but this isn't the case. As one of the apps referred above asks for SU privileges, (both are games), and when i tried to uninstall them, i get always "Uninstallation not Successfull". Also, it appears two install apps for each one, example: Granny (240kb) and Granny (14mb). Either way you simply cannot uninstall them.
I then tried the root explorer to hunt these b*astards down manually, after a quick search, i did managed to delete every trace. But though it was done properly, the damn icon still appears on my apps list, and with various uninstall tools available, simply gives you error after error.
Down side is, so far you may think this is harmless, after all its publicity and there are a ton of apps doing the same. Right?
Well, not quite. You see, the apps run with the system constantly, with 3G or WIFI or not, not appearing on any task killer, and thus completely draining your battery in 1hr tops.
I would like to know if anyone encountered any issue relevant or similar to this case, as is critical to at least inform the customer the malware capabilities of such apps.
If needed or for experiment use, you can ask me for the apk files, i saved copies of it.

So I see a ton of cool looking free games in the play store, and am interested in mass downloading a bunch of them. However I know nothing comes without a price, and dont want to run the risk of infecting my cellphone with whatever crap is out there. If you uninstall an app that manages to spam your notification bar or place shortcuts on your homescreen, are you effectively clean? Does uninstalling the offending app basically rid you of its presence? Or is it like a PC and it can side-load all sorts of crap and you'll never be able to fix your phone without reflashing? Also, whats the risk with apps accessing things like email and your phone number? Do I have to worry about some freeware game sending spam to my gmail inbox? Or sending emails on my behalf? Or worse yet, getting my cellphone number and texting me or others? Are any of these things even possibilities, at least from apps on the play store with high ratings?

Before uninstall I recommend clearing any app data and force stop through settings. After uninstalling you can use Clean Master and/or SD Maid to clean up and remnant files and folders. As for privacy, you can use XPrivacy to restrict app access to anything and everything.

If you are still worried, you can run android emulators on your PC in an enclosed virtual machine before install on your device.

I use clean master from ks apps. Nothing can clean leftovers better than you.
You download something, app uninstall does the download disappear? Neither commonly used references like flash.
You are tge best judge when it comes to cleaning.
Privacy tools tries to disconnect wifi 3g etc which again you can do manually. Run your apps in flight mode.
Use firewall to control to fro traffic.

I have searched this forum and the web, still surprised about the poor integration of multiple devices in Google Play.
Can anybody tell me if there is any easy and fast way to transfer most of your app's to a new device?
I am amazed the lack of usability in this matter? Why is there not a column based page with all your registered devises from left to right and all the app's downwards, then a box to "tick" on each device to install or delete multiple app's in one go??? How hard can it be???
I know you can use Titanium but you need to be rooted and still go by each app individual or take all in one go, this do not make any sense since a newer device might not need all the app's.
On Google Play I can see all my app's and then install them one by one with a confirmation box for every one? long and boring task.
A column based set-up where you choose which app's to be installed on what device you have registered seems like a "no-brainer" to me but I have not been able to find anything that resembles that??
Does it exist and am I a knob or is this a major oversight by Google???

The key here is you need to tell Google to restore your phone once you install an OS. If you did this, the Play Store automatically downloads all your previously installed apps.
Also, in Titanium you have the checkboxes on the side as you're asking for, you just deselect the checkboxes besides the red apps pretty much...
I was hoping that someone knows of an app that can alert me when my son installs or deletes an app. There are certain apps that I don't want him having access to, and it seems the trend I'm hearing from other parents is that the kids will install the apps when they are away from home and delete them before they get back. I think I found a couple spy apps that will monitor installed and deleted apps, but they also track the text messages and gps location etc... but I'd rather not pay a monthly fee. I don't want to spy on him necessarily, I just want to make sure he's not installing apps that he's not supposed to. If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great!

Nah, I just pay the $5 a month for family base. Just tells me who my son is talking to, what apps he installs, and allows me to put time/data type restrictions when I feel it's appropriate. Doesn't show the actual texts or do location tracking. But I finally went with that because of the serious lack of parental controls. If my son wasn't stock I'd probably have tried out other apps.
