yeah my mistake , I think it's a issue that popped up in the past few days when switching new ROMs around, I went from sense to miui to unity..... think between miui and unity I lost mms
Have you checked your apn settings? Did they get screwed up during the flashings maybe? That's where I would start. Is your data turned on instead of just wifi? Can you receive mms at all? Maybe someone else will pop in with suggestions..

figured it out... I flashed the Radio back to stock and now it works. been a looong day lol ...thanks for the help

Hey guys I purchased an unlocked G2X off of craigslist after my HD2 died on me :/ now I am running all of the Stock OS no mods nothing. This phone is unlocked as is working with at&t. I am able to access 2g which lets me get on the internet and browse (even thought it is slow it works really good). well the phone is great except I cannot download picture messages (MMS) it just keeps saying failed?!? idk what I am doing wrong? I tried to talk AT&T about it but they are saying that since they do not have a similar phone to it they cannot check the settings for me which sucks! I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and found a way to fix it?? **I HAVE GOOGLED, AND READ UP ON VARIOUS TOPICS BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANYONE WHO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS ME!*

I have the same issue with Simple Mobile. I think the images being sent are larger then what we can accept.
yeah i thought about that also, but it wont even let me send a message out, it just fails at that part too. I have tried using Handcent, resizing the images myself everything.
What I am thinking that it is, is the fact that MMS Proxy settings inside of the APN settings?
any suggestions?

It definitely has a lot to do with apn settings. What I suggest is to find out what is the apn settings for one of at&t's (& Simple Mobile's) Android phone and copy it to the G2x and that should most likely fix the MMS issue. I fixed a myTouch 3g for somebody having MMS issues and all it took was Googling the apn settings of the carrier and then add it to the phone and you should be golden.

Have you checked your APN'S... Cuz that's the part you need to fix if it isn't set up for Att.
Usually you would need APNbackup from market or sideload it and backup and then alter apn for att then restore.
If not try using goSms and fill in mms proxy/apn info

hi all,
I just found out i can't make a call, it hangs up right after i call someone, i also cant send text messages, mobile internet is working though. and i can receive calls and texts.
i'm using trips ics rom, i thought it was the roms fault so i flashed hypersensation but that also doesnt work, i also used 2 different radios, both dont work.
what can i do?
if i haven't provided enough info just ask me and ill answer.
has anyone got a solution?
It's really important to me.

messed a bit with the apn settings, lost my data connection. wiping everything and flashing again, hoping it fixes it.
problem solved, seems that I didn't pay my bill so I can't call or text anymore.

I'm on WIND in Canada. Have been running with HellFire basically since the beginning. Gingerbread all the way through to 1.7 ICS now. Problem I'm having is voice and text work no problem. But in the top right now it goes to white bars a lot, losing data. I've tried messing with GetRIL, unchecking the saving RIL version option etc etc. No matter what I do I am having a hard time even getting a data connection now. I just installed Owain's ICS ROM and it appears I have the same problem. I'm at a loss for what to do. I heard it may be an issue with anything 4.0.4? Is this correct? It just doesn't seem in the forums like anyone is having as bad of data problems as I am. I rarely, if ever, get a data connection now. Can someone steer me in the right direction as to what I can do??

Hmm.. wait.. so far so good with Owain's ROM... also, I have not restored titanium settings yet... maybe it's a setting I constantly carry over from my titanium backup...... Going to try with no restore for a bit... then maybe revert to hellfire with no settings restored.....
edit: nope still having this issue.... is it just me or what?? can anyone confirm they have this issue?? i literally can't even get data on my phone at all right now it seems....

Try this and see if it fixes.
I'm on Wind too and never had issues with ics. I haven't tried all though, just hfs, eb and of course sk3

THANKS bro!!! That did it for me as well, I was having same issue, ressetting worked like a charm, im guessing your assessment about changing the RIL is spot on

No just goto the apn screen and hit the menu button and hit reset defaults.

Hey guys, I wasn't sure to post it here but here goes. So I'm on HebMIUI right now and LB6 modem and every time I've tried to upload a picture when I'm on mobile data, it won't work :/ It's been like this for other ROMs and I thought it could be that I'm on Wind Mobile and since their upload speeds are meh, that could be it. It also has difficulty sending picture messages so I'm not to swell that, lol. I'm just wondering if anyone could pitch in their two cents? Thanks
Never been able to send a picture message with this phone either, even on stock. I thnk once or twice before I gave up. My old alcatel would send them but not this phone.

Oh ya, went through that and 5000 other things the guy on the phone who probably couldn't spell phone told me to do.
Try using the KG4 modem... I used it and my MMS began to work fine... Its still a little slow, but it works. If that doesn't work, try the KG6 modem...

This is getting kinda infuriating. Anytime I try to send a text, it bounces and won't send. If I text myself, it goes through. I've tried numerous things, reboots, turning off radio, text from pc.. anything I could think of. Calling is fine though. I can make a call or get a call from anyone. This is beyond me and pretty frustrating.
I just upgraded to the M8 and it should be here sometime next week. Did ATT goof when they ordered my new phone and do something to my existing? Should be something sim card related right? Idk, only a week but man this is ridiculous. I need my phone for work.
Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys.

Have you tried flashing another ROM to see if the problem persists or not across ROM changes?

Did the SMS failure start right after flashing the ROM or other mod? Or did it just spontaneously start, and not seemingly related to any mods or settings you changed? If spontaneous, I would think its probably caused by AT&T borking up something on your account features or provisions when you did the upgrade. In which case, you are going to be able to fix it on your end.

Absolutely. Language is such a pesky thing.
A friend of mine bought my one x running 4.2.2 from coolrom i believe.
he can receive picture messages but gets a failed message when sending.

It's most likely a problem with your APN settings, triple check those.
