Guys,
when i keep my HTC sensation on charging, it gets charged till 99%, and it never increases, even though i do not remove the charging. The indicator light remains ORANGE... sometimes it does go to 100% with the light turned GREEN, but 9 out of 10 times, it is stuck at 99%.
Is anyone else getting the same problem???
I don't have your phone, but I do know that sometimes when you load roms while your battery is low, the battery stats will be messed up. Or just after a while your battery stats screw up due to charging while the battery is not full..
Try charging fully (if you can get to 99% only thats fine). Then boot into recovery and wipe the battery stats. (if you have that option in whatever recovery you have). Then reboot your phone. Let it drain completely. When I mean completely I mean, when your phone dies, turn it on again and wait till it dies again. Then finally, just charge to the full. If this problem persists, it may be a hardware glitch? lol... Or some Rom glitch? What ROM are you running anyways? If you are at all..?
Hope I helped

I am using the stock ROM 1.28.xxx.
Going into the recovery would wipe out my phone data? and could you elaborate a little more on this process, like the steps and options to do it.
Thanks.
i don't think the problem is in your battery stats because it is a stock rom. Try leaving it on charge overnight to see if you will get green led indicator. Mine gets green when it is fully charged.

Do you have a custom recovery image? That is important. And are you rooted?

Yes I agree with you.. He should probably just leave it to charge overnight. Sometimes it takes very long to get from 99% to 100%.
It is normal, the last 1% takes a while sometimes. But it will charge to 100% if you let the phone charge.

Sensation is not S-OFF (bootloader is locked) yet so almost none of us have custom images. Only %0,001 of users get S-OFF on very very luck. Just informing

which is your concern...
a) the LED being orange at 99%
b) not reaching 100%
?
personally I would not worry about b)
as for a), I thought it went green once it reached ~ 90%?
EDIT: quick correction

NO,if the battery reaches 100%, it turns the battery GREEN, but it hardly reaches to 100%, most of the time it is stuck at 99%.

The LED Came on and then went out after 2 seconds
After ten minutes i took out the battery again and reinserted and powered on

Make sure your battery isnt fully charged (between 20 and 80 percent ideal), Turn off completely (pull the battery out and reinsert if you want to be sure)

You can either let a friend charge your battery for you in his phone
Or
You can get a usb cable, any kind really, chop off the end that goes into the phone. There will be 4 wires exposed, you only need the red and black ones, pay no attention to the green or white wires or whatever color they are. Connect the exposed wire to the battery (to part that touches the prongs on the phone) and it will charge. All you have to do is find out on the web which of the 4 slots on the battery do what, and connect the positive (red) cable to the positive slot on the battery, and the black cable to the neg part of the battery.
In the worst case, you could charge your battery outside the phone with a power supply...
Not an easy way, especially if you're going on vacation...But it's a good thing to be aware from this!
Edit: Durps,you killed me!
my phone charge while off i see alot of people are suffering from this but mine still charge while off my led is on
The issue seems to be fixed with the official cwm recovery flashed from within rom manager.
...at least for me.

walk into a phone shop, ask them if u can charge your battery for 10 mins in one of their phones.
Say something about software crash blah blah, they usually dont care at all, and will let you.
PS to confirm is version v4.0.1.5 the good one? ie will let you use/charge your phone in the "normal" way?
update your versions of rom manager ...the dev updated the recovery and now it does charge
Just install the new CWM version 4.0.1.5 from ROM Manager to fix this (HUGE) bug
Hi,
I have recently tried out a few ROMs with my Nexus S to try to get better battery life. I tried CodeName Android and then figured I would try Slim ICS afterwards. I completely wiped everything and installed Slim ICS.
I have observed the following:
- Battery was ~40% when I installed Slim ICS
- I used it until the battery depleted
- Plugged phone into the wall charger
- Started the phone shortly afterwards (~25 minutes) and it says battery is 100% and then the phone randomly shut off
- Phone has been plugged into the wall charger and when I try to start it now sometimes it boots completely and then shuts off. Other times it just shuts off before it finishes booting up. The few times it does fully boot up, it says the battery is 100%
I've read through many postings about calibration but at this point I am not even able to fully turn on the phone even when its plugged into the wall.
Is this expected or is something else going on? I've never seen anything like this when I had the stock ICS. Why would erroneously report 100% but then not even let me fully turn on the phone? Thanks!

Maybe a bad battery?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
Battery is fine. I ended up letting it charge a few hours and it now fully boots up and battery is almost fully charged now.
Whats strange is at times, when the battery was close to empty, when turned off and plugged into the wall, it showed the battery as being completely charged so I don't think it was charging. I had never observed this behavior with the stock ICS.

If it happens again I would suggest taking it to a sprint repair

same problem
Even I have faced the same problem whenever I reboot keeping my pfone charging,
This is very normal,
just let the battery drain completely and next time charge it till 100% it will work perfectly,
It happens with me whenever I install new rom.
basically the battery indicator shows incorrect status also battery will drain very quickly later but once you finish installation just let your phone charge for 3 hours . Problem will get solved

Also, you could try clearing the battery stats in clockwork mod recovery

Thanks. So it sounds like its more of a generic issue with ROMS in general as I never observed this before putting on a custom ROM.
Cannot post in appropriate category yet so I have to post here and hope someone can help. I clean flashed this rom the other day (did everything properly), and the issue I keep having is that now my battery won't charge, and battery drain is horrendous (about 3 hours from 100 to 0). If my phone is off and plugged in, charging does not occur after 5%. After my phone dies it is almost impossible to get it charged to 100% again. Even plugged in it stays alive at 0% and does not charge. I have rebooted the phone on and off the charger (which was suggested in the forum) and that did not help. I really like this rom other than that, and even if I wanted to flash a different one I can't with 0-5% battery left. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
RE:
Did you try replacing the battery with either OEM replacement or aftermarket equivalent? It's possible the battery may be bad, yes it happens.

Yes I did. I Used my GF's battery (also gs3) to see if it would charge as well. It did not. It has something to do with this rom. My phone has been dead for 2 days now and will not charge. Anyone have any other suggestions?
To be more specific: Several people on this rom have noticed that if you reboot on the charger it causes a wakelock that does not go away. It is then suggested to reboot off the charger and that will make the wakelock go away. It seems like regardless of what I do, the wakelock will not go away.

That's very strange have you tried to Odin back to stock and start from scratch by keeping the phone charging via USB.
I did some checking around and I personally haven't found another solution to this.
Hey guys, I've got a bit of an issue with charging. I'm running Cataclysm ROM with FK r35 kernel with minor downgrading setups that worked perfectly well for me. So yesterday I left my phone on charge over night and woke up to find the charge stuck at 74~76percent and phone was at room temperature. Charger was plugged and in the About section it says AC charging. So I figured maybe its the kernel so I switched it off and kept it charging, but its still stops going above. When using the phone the battery charge reduces normally. Any suggestions? I thought maybe the battery's internal cycle is not in sync but there's no option to reset it.
Edit: atm I'm trying to completely drain the battery and let it charge again. Hope that will solve it.
Try a battery calibration app.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
yeah, let it drain down the power it off and back on.
when you say you switched off the kernel, i'm assuming you mean you either flashed the stock kernel back or dirty flashed the rom.

i would do this as well. let it drain far enough to where android shuts it off, and then boot the device up into bootloader and/or recovery. keep it on here until the device truly hits 0%(android shuts it down at 1% i believe). then plug it in and let it charge up completely

Sorry I wrote it wrong. I meant I switched off the phone and tried charging it. ATM ive turned it on and its been charging for the past 1.5hours and its still on 16percent. Its charging extremely slow and in System Monitor app it shows that charging will complete in 3hrs39min...btw I'm using the stock charger and cable that came with it.
