Galaxy S cover comparison (Updated Sep 18th) - Galaxy S I9000 Accessories

Besides the missing flash for the camera, the fingerprint addicted plastic cover of the otherwise great Galaxy S has been the main target of critics.
To solve this issue there are a lot of extra covers available. Some replace the original accu cover, some span the whole phone.
I myself have been looking quite some time to find the right cover for me and ended up with some covers in my possession.
I hope to be of any help to others on the same journey I give you a short review and comparison of the covers I got here. Pics included.
To clarify what we are dealing with I'll start with the original cover.
Original Galaxy S cover
Few to add. Standard cover that comes with the phone.
Pro:
- free
Contra:
- attracts fingerprints as light the moth
- slippery
- cheap look
Mumbi silicon case
I bought this from amazon for around € 5. Main purpose was to protect the phone for my vacation abroad.
Pro:
- Great grip and handling. The former slippery tiny SGS becomes a real something in your hand.
- cheap
- good protection against dropping damage
- makes your phone a real outdoor device
Contra:
- adds about 2 mm to each sides
- gives the stylish SGS a real tweedy look.
- attracted dust and fabric fibres in the pocket
- display is hard to clean - you cant just rub it anywhere because the cover stands over the display about 1 mm.
Case Mate barely there silicon cover
This one was a present from my wife and is my favourite so far.
Pro:
- nothing slippery anymore. Great grip.
- adds barely some width to the phone
- looks very clean
- doesn't attract dust ore fibres
- very tight
Contra:
- quite expensive ( well not for me )
- sometimes a little hard to apply or get off the phone. I was at first affraid I might damage the hull of the SGS but its fine since a lot of on-off.
- will probably stain underneath cover, see: Update.
Long-term information:
After using the barely there cover for some weeks I noticed some damageto the underlying basic cover . So if you are using a softer basic cover underneath the barely-there-casemate-cover you will likely notice som stains after a while. Not a big issue, but for me I decided to reattache the original basic cover to avoid spoiling my nice rubbery basic cover.
Matte black accu cover from ebay
This cover attracted my attention via the SGS Matte/rubberized battery cover-Thread in this very forum. It's nearly perfect for me and I use it under any extra cover. Update: Well not anymore - see update for casemate-barely-there above.
Pro:
- Good grip (though not a good as the Case Mate Cover)
- cheap (about € 7 incl. shipping via ebay)
- adds no extra space to the phone
Contra:
- No extra protection
Nillkin Tough Shield
This case was provided by www.casesss.com and can be purchased there. It came with the two Rock Naked Shell covers. It is very similar to my favourite (the case mate barely there cover), but has some definite advantages.
For overall comparison I added a picture of the case mate, the Nillkin and the Rock cases.
Pro:
- its about half the price (in €) as the case mate cover from amazon.de
- this Nillkin case DOES NOT have this ugly stand offs that damage your underneath cover (See details at the case mate review above).
- Overall good quality, good grip and perfect fit.
- Screen protector shield included
Contra:
- None, so far.
Note:
I will add some long term use infos about the cover in the futere.
Rock "Naked Shell" Cover
This one was also supplied by www.casesss.com. It's tends to become my new favourite. It is labeled to be used with the Galaxy S Plus i9001 - but as both share the same form, it also fits for the Galaxy S i9000. It comes with a free screen shield and a little plastic stand. This also lacks the annoying little rubber stand-offs that go with the barely there case (see details there).
Pro:
- Its very silky and smooth. Great feel and look!
- No stand-offs that damage your basic cover
- Good price
- Shield included
- plastic stand included
Contra:
- None, so far
Note:
Long term use info will be given.
Rock "Naked Shell Pearly Red"
Another one from www.casesss.com. It has a nice pearly look I havent seen so far. Very classy! Feels equally silky as the black Rock Naked Shell cover. As all Rock Cases it also comes with free screen shield and plastic stand (see pics above).
Pro:
- Unique look
- Good price
- Perfect fit
- No stand-offs
- Shield included
- plastic stand included
Contra:
- None so far
Note
Long term infos will be added.

- a bit expensive (15 €)

Hello mate, i like ,,Matte black accu cover from ebay'', this is the right one for me. Is it from ebay.de cuz i cant shop from ebay, so i will have to ask a friend who lives in Germany. In Romania we cant find only the rubber case for i9000.
Thanks for the info

Just check the thread I linked. As I say: Its from ebay, yes. Just check the Thread and see for youself where they ship to.
Greets DMX

Great comparison, bought few covers but didn't really like them (most shops around here ain't carrying them so have to buy online).
Think i'll get case mate now, didn't wanna bother spending money on it, incase it turned out like rest of the covers

Glad to be of assistance. dont forget the Thanks Button

I love the Casemate Barely There case! I've been using it for 7 months now,I love it. Highly recommended!
The look and feel is really good, the material that they used is not sticky or a "lint magnet" compared to other cases.

Nice comparison there dude, i got a SGP Ultra Slider instead in the end due to the buttons thingie (case mate barely there last i check had a rubber piece protecting the buttons)Sad thing is cases for SGS are hard to get here too

Thanx. I'll try to add more and more Cases on the go. If anybody has a suggestion, shoot. I`ll be happy to add more Cases.

SGP Ultra Silke
Hi there,
I bought the SGP Ultra Silke Case about a month or two ago and I'd like to offer my opinion on the case.
The case is made out of silicone but it is apparent that there is some sort of matte/anti grip coating that feels like...paper. However, there's none of the roughness, so it feels like very smooth, high quality paper.
Case itself looks great, all the holes line of perfectly and there is no trouble in pressing the buttons. I love the minimalistic look that it conveys. On the front of the phone, the case lip is angled and feel like part of the phone.
Problem: Why oh why does the finish wear off? After a couple of days of use I could feel the outside edge where my hands came into contact often was worn out. Now patches all around the case have worn off and the resulting bare finish attracts dust.

You should upload some photos with the cases u r using

Yes, please. Anybody feel free to add further reviews and pics. I can even add them to the startpost.

Will gladly add one on my next purchase of another Ultra Slider. If the thing fades,it might be fake? (since tons of SGP fake stuff are going around atm)

The SGP ultra slider finishing is very lasting. Mine is still pretty good except of the top corners as I always inverted the phone i place into my pants pocket...

Case mate
recently got the case mate... works great for me. the only downside is the price.

Case-mate for me to..had one for a few months now and its been outstanding...combined with a good quality screen protector of course.

I think what you saw was the silicone case. Because the "Barely There" only have holes for the buttons.
I Swyped this on my Galaxy S

If anyone could take pics of the cases I didnt cover ( ), that would be great. I will add them to the starting post. This way the readers won't have to scroll through the whole thread.

Some links would be very nice.

Google Nexus One Pure Crystal Slip?

Anyone used this case? I REALLY don't want to put a case on my Nexus One, but it's also so slim and thin that I am going to drop it eventually.
Silly as it is, I don't want the whole phone covered up, so while the Innocase Surface II looks decent it also covers up the phone.. The Boxwave Pure Crystal Slip doesn't, but I can't find any reviews on it.
Anyone used one of these things? I don't use the dock, although I do use a horizontal belt case so I might have to get one that's slightly bigger as the N1 barely fits in the existing one, but I can deal with that.. That would happen for any case honestly, except for a skin.. I do like Best Skin Ever, but the last two I've bought seem to not be quite as "tacky" as the first few I had, therefore the grip wasn't quite as good. Maybe my imagination..
I bought the Boxwave case off amazon a month ago probably. its a nice case but save your money and buy a resin case from dcmugen on ebay, exact same thing with a different logo. its a nice case though, not too thick and easy to take on and off (I use both docks) so it fits my needs quite well.
Boxwave here. Nice thin and classy. Has rubber feel but not too soft either. It's a pretty good case makes phone look ten times better in my opinion. Is easily recommend it, but I don't use docks, so can't help there. Never the less, happy casing.
DC Mugen FTW. eBay - Epik Case. I got two cases for $8 including shipping and two screen protectors.
check out the cyclone crystal clip from boxwave - it looks even better (sry cant post link)

Ah, I see.. I still think I prefer the Pure, no patterns on it, but otherwise the same.. Looks like Boxwave has the Cyclone (circle patterns), diamonds, a matte finish, some others..
Still haven't decided on which case.... I've always been disappointed in silicone cases, but I've almost always bought cheap $2 eBay ones..
I went with the Boxwave Pure Crystal Slip, we'll see when it arrives! God knows when, I had two shipping options.. 5-10 days ($2) or 1-3 days ($23!!)
So I'll see in 5-10 days
I got the Clear Pure Crystal Slip yesterday. Here's a quick review:
Overall, I like it and will likely use it when I'm out and about. It gives a much more secure grip on the phone without adding any weight or feeling larger. Although honestly I still think the Nexus One is a little TOO thin and a little slippery. This makes that better.
It feels like a cheap case, it's rubbery and smooth. If your hands are wet or oily it might be MORE slippery, don't know yet. In reality it seems pretty well made, and fits well. The Clear Pure version is crystal clear, no tint, no patterns, and you can clearly see the phone is a Nexus One.
I'm not doing any drop testing, but I think if the phone landed on a corner or an end this case could protect it. It's firm but pliable, not squishy like a silicone case and not a hard case. Primarily I think it'll protect it because it'll be LESS LIKELY to get dropped because the surface is a tackier and more surface area on the sides. I can pick up the phone with two fingers securely now, where before I'd have to tilt the phone up and get fingers under it to pick it up.
If anyone wants pictures I can do that, haven't yet...
Price summary: If it were $15 it'd be a deal. $20 seems too much.
Pros:
You can see see it's a Nexus. Google branding, colors, body build
It's thin, firm, and fits tightly
Covers up the power and volume buttons, but made to fit over them. Maybe a little rain resistance?
Adds better grip, more confidence holding the phone
Does not interfere with any ports (except a little on the power plug, see below)
Does not interfere with any openings (speaker, mics, camera, camera flash)
Does not interfere with the screen, particularly near the edges
Does not obscure the speaker when phone is on its back
Lets you lay the phone down face-down without resting on the trackball
Covers all corners, edges, entire back.
Cons:
It has a molding line all around it.. It's not that visible but you can feel it. Sides aren't smooth
Covers up the power and volume buttons, but made to fit over them. Makes it too easy to hit the buttons, and you can't feel the button very well (to feel it when touching) nor feel the action of the button itself.
Seems to make the stock charger plug (maybe others too) not feel "in", I think there's too much material around the plug
Takes away the nice texture and feel of the Nexus One
Thumb hits the case a little scrolling down on the trackball, but it doesn't make it harder to use
Other notes:
Does not protect the camera lens or the screen at all
Mine was clearly used, fingerprints all over and in the box backwards :/
A slim belt case intended for the N1 is too small to fit with this case
There is a weird cutout to the left of the HTC logo in the case, like maybe a hand strap could go there?
akifbayram said:
That case does look nice but 20 dollars seems a bit excessive. Look at other Amazon items. I found one for 5 dollars shipped that is pretty similar and doesn't have the hole in the back. http://www.amazon.com/Google-Crysta...X1DSC0SAJ94E&s=generic&qid=1275242975&sr=1-27

I have that case as well as the Crystal Boxwave slip.
The Boxwave one:
- Is clearer obviously (not the "smoked look").
- Fits a good deal tighter.
- Has a full cover for the lip, not the chin strap method of attaching.
- Has Boxwave written across the back.
I actually prefer the patterned one because it's more interesting, both detract from the Nexus, so it might as well add some flavor, right? The Boxwave one is far tighter fitting (and slightly thinner) but neither is going to come off in any kind of normal use. I also own the desktop dock, so I need to take it off on occasion to allow the phone to fit. Both cover all the buttons, so you have to get used to pressing them through the rubber. They also both have that edge around the edge of the case from being molded.
Anywho, just my $0.02
akifbayram said:
Speaking of 2 cents...there are a lot of auctions for the patterned Nexus One cases for 99 cents. http://stores.ebay.com/Cimo-Cases_G...15QQ_sidZ192097565QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322 I wish I knew about this before

And those are probably worth at least $1.10...... Sometimes you really have to make a minimal investment to get something useful.

Any good protective case available for the Z5

Well I have a bit of trouble searching for a new case for my Z5, currently I using the Love MEI case but that thing too big for me so i need a new once.
I've read pretty much all the threads here but couldn't find any good case so i would like to ask which case suit for my need.
- Front & back protection again small drop(a bit buk is ok but not too much)
- I never use the finger print so I am not really care about it been cover or not
- If best can I ask is any case have mental back, I afraid that I will bend my phone even in my front pocket. ( again i dont use NFC much so i dont really care)
The best I've seen so far is the TUDIA Dual Layer Protective Case but it is for the Z5 Premium

You also have TUDIA Ultra slim Z5, but it is not dual layer. Check their website.
I have bought 5 cases so far for my Z5 (video review of them coming soon) and I must say I like two of them.
Custodia Cover RINGKE FUSION Case Trasparent - if you have black version I recommend smoked black edition or
Orzly® FlexiSlim Case cover 0.6 mm Super Slim for Sony Xperia Z5 - this one is really very slim and it really gives you the feel of the phone, but I think it is not very protective if you drop the phone. I am not going to test it
Have a flick through Roxfit, they've got some decent cases and screen protectors (including tempered glass).
I've got the Ultra Slim Book Case for mine. it's a really nice case and I've had the same case on several Xperia's before. All of which survived drops, crushing and other general abuse.
https://www.roxfit.mobi/collections/xperia-z5
Indeed, it looks like cases are kind of hard to find. Going to give one of these recommendations a shot and I'll throw up some impressions once I've used it for a few days. Loving the phone overall.
After spending time looking for a case, I went for the Roxfit as it met my requirements (folio style, slim, credit card slot). It's been pretty good and has protected against a couple of 'small' falls onto floor / ground - unusually for me, I did use the provided screen protector which is starting to show some wear but hasn't affected the use of the screen in any way so it must be doing a good job.
I use http://www.amazon.de/Spigen-SGP1180...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
&
a gorilla glas.
And im happy with it.
I bought RINGKE FUSION Case Trasparent.
Love it!
just choose a transparent soft case, simple but elegant.
I think you can get Case-mate tough case. I am using it myself.

Poetic Affinity Case review

Okay so I am sure a lot of you have received Galaxy Note 7 by now as I am. (T-Mobile user) I would like to update on the case I have with this beast with pictures and hopefully help some of you out there looking for a good case.
I think the blue coral color on this case is beautiful!
Poetic brought their famous Affinity series case for Note 7 in a perfect time for the phone's release and they came back with near-perfect case. Well, the word perfect is very subjective, but if you are like me who is always looking for light, thin, see-through material (to show off the Blue Coral color of my Note 7), sturdy and protecting four corners of the phone, you will absolutely love this. And plus, this time, they fixed two imperfections that I have talked about for a while on this case and I will mention them in the end.
Look - Superb
Honestly, I do not like thick cases where you can't appreciate the thinness of your phone for the sake of phone's protection. To me, phone's design is very important as I have with me all the time and I hate to see the beautiful designs (ex. Galaxy Note series, Iphone series...) to be later covered by ugly bulky cases once you have it. Affinity case makes their case cover very unique and they do it with high quality material. As you can see from the pictures, most of cases are see-through polycarbonate material where you can still enjoy your phone's natural color. From the four corners, they connect each corners with soft shock-proof TPU material that will cover the back of the phone very minimally and with unique pattern that they call X-FORM. I also like their logo with silver color in the middle of back.
Protection - Excellent
Like mentioned above, they covered the four corners with X-FORM soft shock-proof TPU material that feels VERY sturdy. If you think of cheap chinese import TPU material, you will have to see/touch to feel difference. Once you feel/touch it, you won't worry about four corners anymore. Also, TPU material (including strips around back and corners) are scratch proof so you wont see ugly scratches. Most of back is polycarbonate, which is plastic. First, I worried about the back portion being easily scratched due to the nature of its material, but I found out that is not the case. The strips that run through back of the case are actually RAISED so it doesn't get scratched much just like most cases front sides are raised to prevent any normal wear-tear scratches from everyday living.
However, if you happen to carry your phone in an enviornment where lots of sharp materials flying around your phone, you may be better off going with more less-plastic, rigid material of other Poetic product line.
Added feature - Superb
As you can see with my pictures, this case has anti-slip side grip on each sides and this gives me such a relief. I tend to drop phone quite often and not only I need a case with good protection, but also this kind of added feature that will help me not to drop as much. Also rugged TPU strips on the back and corners help a lot as well.
Holes/Cuts - Superb
Their holes/Cuts/Buttons' positions are perfect and I cannot say any better than that. One of the imperfection this case had in the past was a little hard buttons. To me, it seemed like it requires a bit more pressure to press buttons and it was discomfort in the beginning. (You get used to it soon so it doesn't bother much later) However, they fixed it this time and it is breeze and actually fun to press them. They listened to their customers and that is a rare thing in the market. I love it!!!
Taking off the case - Awesome
Last imperfection I probably thought it would have been very hard for any owners with battery changeable phones was taking off the case. I departed from the phones with battery changeable ability a while ago so I did not have to take it off that often so it wasn't a big issue, but nevertheless, when I do need to take it off, it wasn't a pleasant experience. It was too tight to prevent any fall off from dropping your phone.
However, they fixed it, and they did it perfectly. Now, you don't have to put much pressure to take it off one corner to the other. A little bit of force and it comes off easily. It is very good that it holds the phone steadily with you worrying about it falling off on its own, but when it needs to be taken off, it does VERY easily. I seriously recommend to anyone who is looking for a case with thin, see-through, protective, good design and good features, look no further, this is the case for you.

THX for the very thorough review! :good:
I'd held off on pre-ordering this case for the latter,as on the HTC 10,this case was extremely difficult to remove,to the point where you could damage the phone if you're not paying attention, either by bending the phone, cracking the display,or,damaging the camera lens while gripping for case removal.
It was so bad that I actually made relief cuts on each corner,on the diagonal,to facilitate ease of removal.
This in no way compromised the snugness of the case,so,I suspected a design/engineering change was in-store for future versions of the Affinity case.
Glad to hear the changes were made,I just ordered a Clear/Black version for my Black Onyx Note 7.

I feel you 100% as I had HTC 10 with this case as well as LG G5 and it was pain to take it off, especially on HTC 10 as you mentioned. But, it is a night and day difference now.
Is this available for purchase yet? Only place I'm seeing it available is ebay and I'm not sure if those are third party knockoffs or not.

I can assure you, the ones on eBay aren't going to be knockoffs. The design is too intricate to bother with imitating & risking the backlash from buyers. The volume of sales isn't gonna be high enough to warrant anyone to make a knockoff.
Besides, you're protected against fraud/etc. by eBay &/or PayPal.
If you're still not convinced, you can purchase direct from Poetic or go to Amazon.
I've got the same case although my phone hasn't arrived. It's ok imo, the black plastic design on the back protrudes and trends to not feel great in my palm imo but if you don't mind that I guess it's a nice thin case. Well probably rock this until I get a replacement

I also have this case, but I am bit scared to out it on since I fear the hard plastic might scratch my phone on back. I was thinking that there is going to be some sort of cushion or enough place between them. Any comments??

Yeah, use a liquid sealer & a clear/matte body skin (in addition to the Affinity Case) for extra protection, without sacrificing the looks of the phone:
https://www.amazon.com/SGLSTABLET-K...7_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=WNZDASE9MGT6VPCS3R3W

@jkforce
The Poetic Affinity Case for the Note 7 is everything you described/stated in the OP of this thread,so much that I almost regret buying the OEM Samsung Leather Case.
Both have a great feel/look/functionality,but the Poetic shows off the phones good looks & the clear w/black trim on Onyx Black looks as if it shipped from the factory w/the design, akin to a Note7 Active,if you will.
A strong recommend here & @ $7.95 shipped on e-Bay,it's an inexpensive case to add to your rotation.

Case or cover

Availability seems to be low on cases for the Nokia 8 so far.
I'm a cluts so not going to take my 8 out of the house before I get a sturdy case for it.
I saw one article that listed 5 cases but availability seems bad so far.
I bought a lenuo (I guess it's called that) case from ebay and it feels good enough for now. A smart case of some kind would be nice to have though...
I ordered Nokia 8 in Tempered Blue and official Nokia leather flip case in brown color. We will see if it is any good. I will post the pics after weekend.
i got Nokia 8 in polished copper and 2-3 tiny TINY scratches bother me and i am looking for a clear case any ideas?
p.s. anyone that uses cases has issues with the power and volume rocker buttons?
I received oem Nokia Leather case (CP-801)
The quality is top of the line if someone likes this type of covers. I am not a fan for it but it was a gift for family member and I rate the quality 9/10. The only thing it lacks is like magnetic attachment to the screen like ipad cover. Nokai cover is slim, well cut out and really well made. I was a bit skeptical, I am not a fan of leather cases but you will probably not be dissapointed spending 40EUR for this.
I got this case off Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074347Y6M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've always gone for clear bumpers on my phone, rather than opaque or solid cases. This case adds a neat textured pattern over the back of the phone, it blends very nicely with the edge of the screen, and all the buttons/connectors are easy to use. The clearance on the rear mic could be a bit better, now that I look at it, though. There's one spot where I can feel the injection port from the mold, but it doesn't bother me that much and would be easy to smooth out if it did. That link is actually for two pieces, so I have a spare if I need it.
I don't use cases ... No sense in buying beautiful phones and hiding them in cases ... Got transparent full body polyurethane protection installed ... Even makes the phone more grippy

Totally agree with that sentiment. My brother has an SG7 installed in some sort of brick and it looks awful. Enjoy your phone as it was meant to be.
I just ordered the cc801. I find this phone to damn slippery without a case.

Of course it makes perfect sense.
First, not everyone really care about the phone looks. Some people and this may come as a surprise, buy phone to use telephony, messages, audio or video, web browsing.
Second, beatiful phone is meaningles if you can not protect it and scratch it or worse, damage your screen. So much for staring at naked aluminium unibody with cracked screen.
one of the cases which looks to me like it may provide more protection is this following one: (I haven't tried it myself and I don't even have the phone but interested in it so did the research)

someone made a short video review of it (thank you sir)

I got my Nokia 8 last night and ordered a couple of cases to try out.
This one is incredibly slim, barely a few mm thick and has a slightly raised lip. Not sure how it would handle a fall onto a hard surface, but certainly does not add much bulk whilst still offering some level of protection. It is a hard case - not a gel so a bit tricky to take off. The one thing I really dont like is the ugly J&D logo on the back.
I also got this one - which is more substantial gel case - looks nicer and feels more protective. But then it adds that bit more bulk.
I am a bit butter fingers so whilst I see the argument about not having a case - if I did not have one, my current HTC 10 would have been smashed by now.

HTC 10 is a tank it'd take a sledge hammer to damage it.
Update: In the end I settled on this cheap and cheerful clear gel case. Sent the other two back.
I think it will do the job well, provide reasonable protection without being too bulky - and lets the nice Silver colour of my Nokia 8 shine through.
And when it starts yellowing after while I can just order another - given the low price...
The Official Nokia 8 Soft Touch Case Black - CC-801 - looks great - but currently costing around £25 to £30 - which is over the top for what it is....
Guys, also if you interested for an official case from nokia you can find it here
https://www.uk-mobilestore.co.uk/official-nokia-8-hybrid-crystal-case-cc-701.html
I received and its an official case from nokia... unfortunately i haven't test it yet because i don't have the phone yet.
But feels sturdy, the back is hardened and the sides are a little bit more soft for the buttons
Here some pics (sorry for the crappy quality, still using a nexus 4 from 2012)

:good:- I spotted this also last night. But it was out of stock, but I found one in stock on Amazon UK. Ordered it to check out - as I often find official cases are slimmer / better fit than 3rd party.
Just arrived, two original Nillkin cases for Nokia 8. Paid $15 for both (purchased from AliExpress).
The red color is a bit darker than the tone visible in photo. The official renders from Nillkin also shows the red color to be bright but in reality it is a shade darker.
I have used other cases as well but this is hands down the best back cover for Nokia 8 because of one reason. The case is curved from edges exactly the same way as Nokia 8 is built. The curves start from frontal edges of the case and goes to the backside of case. It is hard to explain in words.
Other back covers make Nokia 8 blocky as they have standard squarish edges. But this one feeks like a second skin for the phone as it preserves original curved design of the phone while being slim, lightweight and sturdy.
I always get Nillkin cases for my phones because their quality is top notch and their attention to details is exceptional. They also have been unbreakable for me so far.
Hello guys is there anyone using this case? Or anything to say about that?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B075...er+nokia+8&dpPl=1&dpID=41O0-3xnbqL&ref=plSrch
I always buy Nillkin cases for my phones, but it wasn't available for the Nokia 8 when I needed it. After trying a couple of cheap ones I ended with the an official Nokia 8 cover which is fantastic:
I got leather flip case from stilgut.de. very nice.

Question Cases: "Slim Fit"

Hi there,
Did anyone bought any "Slim Fit" cover ( as the Air Skin from Spigen ) ? How was your experience with those ?
Actually I use ( as I always do ) the Spigen Tough Armour when at work but when I'm off I would like to enjoy the phone a bit more.
What I need is a thick and soft cover. Those on Amazon slips away from the phone even by using the adhesives they provide with or at least this is what I read on the review.
Any suggestions?
The bottom half is pretty standard across the board. The top isn't the most secure, but holds enough for causal use. Not talking about any one specific slim case. They all tend to slide up a bit because there is nowhere to anchor them.
Find one you like and use the spare stickers from the Spigen. Using one of the full body films can help keep it in place, too. Another option is some double sided tape below the screen. If you aren't trying to flip it open like a Zippo, it will stay on.

I have used Spigen cases for years for my candy-bar phones - but for this phone I got a Ringke http://www.ringke.com/site/item.php?id=1&item=1248
It's basically 2 pieces of polycarbonate, and a small raised lip protects the main screen of the phone, as well as the outside. It's maybe 1.5mm raised from the small screen.
First, I haven't dropped it seriously (yet). It took a drop from waist-height onto a tiled floor without a problem - though the thing about falls, is that it does depend on HOW it falls.
Like all the slim cases it doesn't protect the hinge mechanism - but if you are looking for protection there, the case gets a lot thicker - and not sure if the phone would then rest flat on a surface.
I bought the transparent one, then bought the black variant - if you use the flash as a torch, the transparent polycarbonate transmits the beam all across the case...
I was looking for portability with "sufficient" protection, whilst being able to fit into my back pocket (yes, really!).
Because of the phone's form factor, the overall level of protection is fine for me
I bought one and sent it back for one particular reason. It is made of hard plastic, and when folded, it makes weird sound when mobile vibrates. Both hard shells vibrate against each other. Rest it is a sleek cover. SO far I found only the Samsung one to be most useful.
I just bought and tried both the tough armor and air skin. I sent the tough armor back.
Zero issues with case halves sliding on or off. Everything seems firm and secure. I really like the air case. Just enough for some protection and a better grip.
The tough armor completely ruined the zflip experience for me. Turned it into way to thick of a brick. At that point I'd prefer a candy bar phone.
Hope that helps OP.
