If you take a picture with the front facing camera the picture is reversed! That's a serious bug.

same here, no problems like that
I have the bug (I noticed just yesterday).
10B here, by the way.

Yep, might be the firmware, I'm running 10d
Sent from my LG-P920
Firmware is 10d only noticed it because of writing and numbers on my T shirt. Picture looks fine UNLESS you have text in the photo which will show it to be backwards.

This fault still exists. Take a photo with the front facing camera and its backwards (text is reversed) can someone fix this please?

I thought it intentional as its intended for video chat and a number of webcams do the same?
Dave
Why would it be intentional? The image is reversed as in looking in a mirror. I fail to see why anyone wants a picture that's like this, it makes no sense.

If you look at answers to this sort of question say like the one at http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081105205530AAkO4zU it is because you see yourself how you are used to. Like I said to me I assumed it was intended that way because my webcams have all done the same and as its intended for video chat like a webcam is, it is a possibility as I doubt such an obvious bug would slip through lg's testing.

Low resolution contact pictures when syncing with Facebook. This especially occurs when using a stock or cyanogen mod build. HTC sense builds have good res pics when syncing...
Any possible fix? Its bugging me and seems like a fairly simple thing that Google should fix.

Same questions. Bumping.
Glad I don't have to make a thread

Bumping once more ! I think its the problem woth sense ... the contact pics are really low res .. how do we rectify this ?
Anyone have any ideas on how this can be solved?

Bumping too. Weird that such a major issue has no solution apparantly.
Yo where my nerds at???
This fix should be cake

+1 this is quite an annoying bug. Can't find a solution yet
Lots of discussion about this in the past.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4147
This has to be worked out by google as the contacts are synced with google server and resolution is cutdown terribly.
Wow I just checked out that link and it looks like this will never be fixed.

How hard would it be to mod the contacts app to support higher resolutions?
I manually did mine because Facebook never seems to stop running resulting in a battery killer so I freeze/unfreeze upon usage. may take awhile based on amount of contacts but no need for contact merging,no more low res photos and no more battery killing due to Fbook
I bought fbPhotoSync from the Market and used it to download high resolution photos for all of my contacts. Worked like a charm.

have a market link?
From the looks of it its a software based problem. Looks like were gonna have to wait till they update it to support whichever camera is in the front (hardware wise)
I used tango yesterday and it worked fine

I never could get my ffc to work on tango. I think its a conspiracy to get tmo customers to use qik.

We are aware of the front facing camera issue on the G2X. We just received our G2X in to the office yesterday and will start performing tests on it as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that we will be able to fix the issue soon!
It's a new phone, wait for an update. This is common with new Android phones.

Ffc didn't work on tango for my g2x only showed back camera. But when I use qik it kept force closing everytime I would answer a call. Qik works on my Mytouch 4g fine but on tango the ffc view would transmit it upside down to my g2x when I did a video chat Test.

thanks again dev for keeping an eye out on this forum, let alone your own!

Ok so I just put MIUI onto my phone and I love it however I have a question I'm hoping someone might have an answer for.
When using the camera/ camcorder in landscape mode the pictures/videos save in portrait mode. Is this a common issue with ROMs for this phone maybe due to a porting issue and is there any fix that I can do? I tried a few apps but that didn't change anything either. Is my only option a return to stock?!
Btw this normally wouldn't be an issue but I just got my tickets for Armin and want some good videos.

I myself had same issue. Went in the gallery and click on the picture/video then there is a option I believe its the 3rd option on top and could rotate the image. It saved that way too. Hope that helps
Pictures that seems to work for but unfortunately not videos

Anyone know of a way to hook up an external camera, perhaps to the USB port? Maybe for video calling?

Why would you do that you have a front facing camera....smh... and no your phone can't do that
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk
Actually I thought of a work around....smh...no faith. And not specifically the skyrocket. Gotta think outside the box to see the reason for a miniture camera that can video call.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
How are you gonna build a driver to recognize an input device like that on top of making it recognize a video input over USB and then activate it based on app demand when apps don't natively support it so you would have to trick the phone into thinking its the ffcamera seems like an awful lot of work for something built in already IMO.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk
Like I said...think outside the box. Bring the camera out or make a daisey chain with a simple switch.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I thought of that after I posted it...then I was thinking it would be easier to extend the camera out and have it functional.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
The easiest way to do it, I thing is to use the Eye-Fi connect SD card in you camera. ( http://goo.gl/dxXK ) and especially the Mobile X2.
There is an app for android. I never used it but I read a lot on it lately and it seems really interesting
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468531
don't think this does what you want but there ya go
I was thinking about being able to do video chat with someone but be able to have the camera pinned to my jacket or something slllowing person I'm talking to see what I'm seeing. Extending the lens out is easiest thing I can think of. Will check out those links though.
Thanks guys

Hey guys,
I have a problem that has always been on my phone throughout all CM10 ROMs that I have had. Whenever I would take a screenshot and would want to send it via MMS, it would turn really blurry when it is sent. But I can access it in the gallery app and it is not blurry at all. I think it gets compressed as it is sending, I am not sure.
Anyone else have this problem and/or knows how to fix it?
Thanks

Nah man. No one replied and then I got sad and then I forgot about it lol . I just email the pictures now if they are important. Unfortunately I have not found anymore info on this besides them being compressed while being sent.

Are you using a third party messenger I'm using go sms. I figured it out. You just have to go into settings and mess with the size that it sends.
