Trial Xtreme - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

Trial Xtreme works with Xperia Play controls. This is the demo in the video, but the full version works the same way.
Arrows control rider lean/tilt, circle to accelerate, X to brake.

Full Version:

So is the only objective to get to the other side?

First post, liking the info on xda, nice community.
Little bit of info from myself, trials originally came from a game called elastomania (i think, or was at least inspired).
The goal is to get from A to B but with style. Try and do as many flips as you can, try to beat times etc. Simple game, but a good one if your phone has a dpad built in (xperia play), not sure on tilt controls though.
Theres a demo, give it a try.

Trials HD is voted the best Xbox live arcade game of all time.
All you have to do is get from left to right on that too.

[Q] Animal Crossing on the Xperia Play

Is anyone here a fan of the Animal Crossing series from Nintendo? I definitely am and I started trying to figure out if there was a way to play one of these games on my Xperia Play. After doing a little research, I discovered that the original Animal Crossing started off as Animal Forest, a Nintendo 64 game released only in Japan in 2001. In 2002 it got ported to the Gamecube and released for all regions. I have a rom of the Nintendo 64 version that had been patched for English and actually got it to load in N64oid! Unfortunately, it crashed when K.K. told me to set the game clock. Bummer! I wonder if there are any patched versions floating around that can get past this first road block, or if there is some way to set the clock in N64oid that I can't seem to find.
Is anyone else interested in playing Animal Forest/Crossing on their phone?
Don't speak of roms. You will be killed.
Yeah I defiantly would! Loved that game!
N64oid is on the SlideMe market now for android, and is being updated soon with very high compatibility.
Lets hope that includes Animal Forest. I tried running Animal Crossing on the DS emulator earlier but it was so slow that it was unplayable. It would be nice if Nintendo and other developers would recognize the potential of the Play and create their own android stores where they could release some of their older titles that could easily be optimized for the Play. I would gladly pay $10 for a perfect port of Animal Crossing.

There's more chance of buying Mario Kart on the Playstation Store!
We did get tetris.. wait, thats the market XD

No, not really. What I'm saying is that developers are missing a major opportunity by not releasing android-friendly ports of successful games they've created in the past. The nostalgia factor alone would drive the majority of sales.
The idea that Nintendo would voluntarily share revenue from any of their ip's with anyone is, well... Let's just say it will be a cold day in Hell.

Sounds to me like the emulator doesn't support the real time clock, necessary to emulate animal crossing...
Here is more info the real time clock, sounds like Animal Forest is the only game on the N64 to use the clock...

I wonder if this RTC patch only pertains to specific emulators. Worst case scenario, I think I could live with setting the clock whenever I played.

the device is a few months old mate, just wait and the big names will come, you will never get nintendo games on the play but rumor is that sega plans to bring alot of retro games to android, word is, it was sega that got all the emulators taken off the market
Sega is not unfriendly towards emulation. They hired Steve Snake, one of the guys behind one of the most popular Genesis emulators for PC, to emulate some of their classics for PC release in the past. Doesn't mean they weren't the reason the emulators got taken down, but just something I wanted to point out.

I used the japanese version of rom and got past the initial train ride but then crashed at entering village. N64oid should be getting that engine update anytime now. This is also my# 1 game for n64oid. Just a note, you can swap gamesaves between english version and japanes by changing gamesave file the same as the rom of language choice.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I just tried the Japanese version and got the exact same result. Man, this sucks. How cool would it be to play this game? Pulling weeds, finding classic Nintendo games...
Sent from my R800x using Tapatalk
anyone tried this on v2.0 of N64oid?
I've done the same. N64 looked playable but when I got to that dog it asked me to set the time. So I pushed x or o something a bunch of times.. and it worked. But when I got on the train the game looked terrible and it wasn't showing text input/responses and the textures were spazing out and changing colors. I'm sticking to harvest moon on my snes emulator.

Come to think of it, I don't think I have tried it since v2. Does anyone have an english patched version of the rom?

Anyone?

It said in the updates, v 2.03 that Animal Forest was fixed and support for touchpad/gamepad was added! Any ideas?

My view in Shadowgun

I've never really properly got into an optimized game for our phone and found the touchpads terrible. However I've started to pay shadowgun and it is unreal. I'm hooked on it. Feels like a proper game, as if I'm sitting in front of my xbox and the controls are close to perfect. Really gives me hope for the touchpads and proves that they don't have to be hopeless.
By far the best purchase I've made for my play and there's now an expansion pack for it that I noticed but I haven't played it yet, haven't completed the first story.
Definitely worth buying and restoring your faith in the almighty Play!

I agree. It feels like a your playing a console game on the Xperia Play. I'm loving it
Dead Space and Bad Company 2 also have excellent controls. They're also free
Where can I get bad company 2 from? I can't find it on the market
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
It's definitely nice, but my faith in the Xperia PLAY never really staggered to begin with.
If you'd played Dead Space, you would've known a loooong time ago that the Xperia PLAY touch-pads are a more-than-competent means of control input (and also got a sneak peek at the standards in which Shadowgun worked up to). Even outside that, there's so many other devs that have used the touch-pads perfectly that it pretty much is just Gameloft being typical Gameloft... Lantansia, Halfbrick, TwoHeads, NaturalMotion, Art in Games, Glu Mobile, Angry Mob Games and so many more have already established that the touch-pads can work extremely well with high quality titles.
shadowgun is good, so is fifa 12.

I'm not so sure Neo.Emu supports the people that made the game. This game app is made by SNK Playmore.
It's more than a simple port of the original game. Xperia Play Optimized, full Play button control, 16:9 support (it really just stretches the image ), old school display scan lines, anti-aliasing, bluetooth multiplayer, etc.
Support your local skateshop. :good: I bought it because I can download it to both of my Android devices and enjoy multiplayer. Not exactly sure it is worth the $6.99, but it is definitely fun. Will post screenshots later if you guys would like.
Wait, this is Xperia Play Optimized? Ohhh will get, I love Metal Slug.

It is so much better to play full ported games then emulators. They run at full speed and with everything intact (sound, graphics, etc)
Not saying emulation is bad (I play with emus most days) but it's use is for games which can't be played natively, for getting a more original feel to a certain game if its changed for the worst in the porting, or for playing your legally owned game copies.
Emulation is mostly looked upon as illegal. This metal slug 3 is an arcade game, who here has a old neo-geo metal slug machine that can legally make a Rom for use with mame or other? Anyone?
Sorry to moan but hate seeing comments like this all the time. We need to support developers or the gaming business go's bust and new games won't be made.

Well... iOS got an upgraded version of KoF-i (which we know as King of Fighters Android) with a ton of new characters and online play.
Perhaps this is a sign of more SNK support to come? If we can get that as our definite online fighter... damn... the one piece of leverage my PSVita holds over Xperia Play is gone :\

Works perfectly for me on R800x
Great on Tablet S as well, multiplayer is very smooth, no lag on either device when playing linked. Only complaint on Tablet S is that , when using a DS3, R3/L3 is jump not X
LAGS like hell on my XP running stock 2.3.3 , even after a fresh boot and running Supercharger Super 512hp and engine flush.
Tips?
The game starts like a thunder, but after a few minutes it becomes unplayable...
THE LAG IS TERRIBLE!!!
We need an update right now to fix it, many of us love this game... And $6.99 was really expensive for a very laggy game!!!
WHY GOD, WHYYY!!! :-(
same with above . . . .become laggy after few minutes play . . .any suggest ??
Awsome its a great game

at what point does it start lagging for you guys? Boss battle?
I had problems playing several different games when I was running custom ROMs, since flashing OEM 2.3.4 I haven't had any issues.
the latest app update took away the menu sound effects, booo. everything is still smooth for me however.

Blazing Star - SNK PLAYMORE - OUT NOW!!!

Love this game, played it to death in the arcade when I was younger. Came out today. I have not played it yet so I cannot tell you if its Xperia PLAY optimized, but I am hoping that since the King of Fighters was optimized (sort of) this will be too.

Since no one really responded with anything back then, I might as well just come back to tell all of you on the fence of getting this, that this game is very well optimized. Mame/Neo/Cps Emulators are great but where is the challange. I like and brought these official ports (metal slug too) for 2 reasons. 1) Bluetooth multiplayer 2) a limit on credits. Where is the challange if you can keep shoving fake credits in, it makes these games too easy because you have no real death. Its like cheating and there is no point in that when you are only cheating yourself out of a good game. With metal slug on Emulator i completed in a hour (fun over). On the official port not even half way in and been playing hours worth. At least with emulators like Snes and PSX you have limits as its built in to the game (Saves states are also bad but still mean you have to get past the place your stuck on dying). I am happy to recommend these ports over the emulated way
Original MVS cartridge are 'free play' at will anyway, but you are right about arcade, nothing can beat the 1coin challenge and bt coop option is the best.
My previous bought of metal slug for android was a disapointment, few option, gallery mode, slowness this one seems better optimized. I think save state is a bless to train yourself in the hardest level without crawling again the whole intro + much more freedom to simply save your progress.
My fingers thank autofire as well. I found vsFighters a bit more difficult compare to the arcade because of the controller, xplay paddle is tiny and snk special moves can be tricky.

Dynamite Jack - Optimised (Mostly)

Hi guys,
Haven't posted in a while and just thought I'd let you know that Dynamite Jack works with the Play's hardware. The D-Pad works from the off but you you have to configure the buttons to use your flashlight, bombs and mini-map. This is easily done by going into the 'Settings' parameter and selecting the 'Keys' tab were you can make the changes. During navigation you can use the D-pad to scroll but still need to touch to select but in-game you have complete control! Just switch the control option to 'Line-Drawing' (again in 'Settings' under the 'Controls' tab) to free the screen of buttons and you're off!
Oh and the game is part of the latest Humble Bundle. Have fun!
Im enjoying this game too, reminds me of Red Faction with the destructible environments and the oppressed miners story.
