I've taken 2 pictures; one with the phone back on and one without. This comparison should hopefully show how the glass on the back really washes out the pictures taken on the G2x. These are both taken from the stock Froyo camera.
And I keep the glass on the back relatively clean, in hopes that the photos I take will be less washed out.

I could be wrong but your second photo looks as if the camera was moving as you took the pic: a bit of blurring.

Yep sorry my hands shook a bit, but I'm just trying to show the color differences not the sharpness.

Did it occur to you as well that some modded cameras make washed out photos when using flash?
The phone took good pictures with virtuous 3.5 beta 2 for example, but after flashing 3.0 they are washed out. Its almost like the shutter/flash timing is slightly off. Im sayong this because for a split second when taking the photo it looks just fine, then just as the shutter opens it captures too much of the flash or something...
It cant be hardware because i took excellent photos with particular mods
f##@$% incredible i found the reason: my Momax iCase Pro!
It's strange because it has all the right holes over lens and led areas but the flash seems to reflect or be influenced by the semi-opaque hard plastic back cover:

Check out picture taken with case ON:
Same show with case OFF
Another "mystery" solved
I have the same problem. I just bought another case
This only happens to me occasionally. But, it happens with or without the case.
So i got a DSLR and wanted to put some pics on my phone when i found out that the display quality of the various gallery aps is very bad. This is especially the case for pictures with a natural gradient in it, like is showed in this post.
here i have some examples that i tried and made a screen shot of how it displayed it on my phone
so first the original pic (4 mb)

1.2 mb

original little less big

gallery app stock
quickpic
Fish bowl
Large picture viewer
Photoshop express
Just pictures
as wallpaper
the weird thing is that it shows it correctly as wallpaper, thus the picture should be able to look better on my phone,
At the moment i think justpictures shows it the best of all.
But still not nearly as the original picture is on my computer.
Does anyone has an solution for an better gallery app?
Can someone recommend one one?

haha, great!
Or you can try this

https://photojojo.com/awesomeness/cell-phone-lenses
Taken with the aforementioned lens (On a Note 4), which doubles as a wide-angle. They only work well with phones without OIS though due to magnetic interference, so it will work fine with the 6P.

Hey y'all!
I'm having some trouble with my brand new S7's camera. I went out to try it yesterday and I somehow cannot get it to focus correctly; when it does so, it focuses only partially, leaving part of the image blurred. I took these pictures on Auto mode without changing any parameters (double-click on home button, point, let it focus, shoot). I tried resetting the camera settings to default and switching stabilisation on and off without much difference. It sure does not compare with all the amazing pictures you can see posted in this forum. Any help?

Thanks in advance!
Looks to me like he was submerged under water and got condensation
Look like bad len and sensor alignment or just a bad len.
In short, it's faulty/damaged camera. Get a replacement

Went on a hike in Brazil today and couldn't manage to take any decent photos the tree and other green stuff. It seems the contrast between the bright light and the dark green of the vegetation really screws with the AI, but even with the AI disabled, the pictures still looked like below. Is there a way take greenery photos closer to what the human eye would see, with the P30 Pro? Or is post-processing the only option for approaching realism?

I don't have a comparable shot with another phone, but here's a jungle pic shot with an iPhone XR. To me it looks a lot more vibrant and fresh.
