Hello everyone. I have this problem where when my phone rings, no matter what ringtone I have, the first ring is really low and then it becomes loud. I know its a problem with gingerbread and was wondering if anyone had a fix. If there is no fix for this I was wondering if its possible to install the ep1h radio on froyo. There are other problems I have such as when playing music the music lags even if I' not streaming it from the internet. I really want to t fix it but if not I will switch back to froyo.
The low first ring and no lit keys are the reasons I went back to GB. I like the EE4 radio anyway.

I was just wondering if anyone else had the same problem as me. I don't work in an office environment, and I like to start up Pandora or Slacker, set the phone down, and listen to it all around the store. With any Eclaire rom, I could successfully do this and be able to hear it loud and clear. Now, since I have updated to Froyo, I can barely hear it. It really bothers me because it is a good way to get around the whole "no stereos" rule in place, and now it is does not work. Is there a workaround to increase the volume?
I'm still on Beta 2 and have noticed this as well. Before I could easily hear my ringtone on ~2/3 - 3/4 volume (in a not so quiet environment, of course). Now I sometimes miss it even on max volume.
I might be completely misinformed and totally wrong, but I thought I heard once that in Europe they have to limit the volume to a certain level. Is it possible that since this is a leaked version of Froyo that it's possibly meant for overseas and that it contains that limiter?
Seems to me that 2.2.B4 has more volume than eclair did. No problems with me hearing it and I suffer from hearing loss
Seemingly at random times I am losing all sound on my phone at times. I have my phone set to vibrate and play a ringtone. I am running Cognition 2.2b6. Any ideas on how to fix? Thanks!
I just called my phone and the ringtone started to play but then stopped after the first level of sound (normally the volume gets louder and louder). It seems like the external speaker is not working. I tried to use the speaker phone during a call and I couldn't hear anything.
well you are on a very early beta build rom...why not try flashing to newer more complete rom. like cog 4.5...
Put the phone in the road outside your house, no more problems
So I don't know what's just happened - I don't remember changing anything but as of yesterday, I can't hear anything in my calls, and they can't hear me. edit: There's no sound at all through the headset or speakerphone either.
Also the dialer has massive lag between number inputs.
What is causing it?? The phone is now no longer usable as a phone
I was running InsertCoin 3.3.8 and tried wiping, reflashing, restoring back to 3.3.7, and even tried going to MIUI! Still no luck.
Slight update on the issue:
I noticed that if I put the phone on silent, then the lag in dialer disappears. It's as if the phone is lagging because it can't find an audio output source.
Hi all,
Recently updated to official ICS. I like to listen to music on my HTC, and I found a major glitch. Whenever you are playing music (with the stock player), and there is another system sound (ie SMS notification), the entire media volume of the phone dies.
For example, I am listening to music and I receive a SMS. I hear the SMS and the music stops playing. I check the music app and the slider is still moving but there is no sound. After that point there is NO media volume at all! I start a game. No sound. I start a video. No sound. Youtube. No sound. Only way to fix this is restart the phone.
If I'm listening to music and I wanna play a game. I start the game and the game has its own sound. The music stops playing and the game sounds are also now gone. Only way to get any sound back is to restart.
Basically whats happening is if there ANY other non-music sound, it ends up killing the phone's Media volume. Only way to fix is restart.
Anyone else have this problem?
Running stock ICS 4.0.3 Vodafone Australia ROM.
Sounds like a fluke - cause this doesn't really happen to anyone else. Since you're stock, the way to fix most issues is to wipe your data and start from scratch. Most people who have random issues like this do that and it clears up.
Not its not a fluke. I can reproduce it even after a factory reset. It only happens with stock player not another player I downloaded from Play.
Maybe its a problem with the Vodafone ROM.

If you can reproduce the issue with a factory reset then perhaps you could try flashing your RUU and see if the issue persists. I do know that what you're describing is NOT a wide spread problem, and that means it's either isolated to your device or to VODA's build...

I meant fluke as in only happening to you, not only happening once.
Try Grogg's advice. Hell, flash his rom, music player works great in it.
Similar issue here
I'd just like to say I have a similar issue with mine. If i am listening to music and receive an SMS or email notification then the music volume increases to match that of the notification. Pressing either volume up or down then changes it one step from the original volume.
I also have another issue with the default music player. If I am listening to music at work, press pause then remove the headphones (when leaving my desk for a short while) after plugging headphones back in when I press play the sound quality is often seriously distorted. Pressing pause then play again always seems to sort this out...
I've noticed 3 or 4 little bugs with the latest (UK) release on my phone, I keep expecting another update to sort them out but so far nothing...

I have got the same problem. HTC Sensation, stock ICS 4.0.3 (3.33.401.53). Have you found the solution ?
I'm currently running stock, un-rooted 3.18 from AT&T.
My speakers, both on the back and the earpiece, have extremely low volume. Even at max volume I have difficulty hearing phone calls anywhere that is not very quiet. Also, my ringtone and notifications are very quiet. Again, they're so quiet I generally don't hear them if I'm not in a moderately quiet setting with the phone face down nearby.
I don't seem to recall this being the case when I first got the phone. I also tried a couple different ROMs recently, but none of them seemed to help so I just went back to stock.
On a potentially related note, whenever I'm playing music and get a notification it gets played very softly in the background, and is often inaudible. If I get a call it pauses the music, though.
Any help with either or both of these issues would be greately appreciated.
