guys, i have a workaround, not a fix.
the following patch will set the phone time to the correct time everytime you wake up the phone.
here you go, if you wanna test:
file: drivers/rtc/class.c
function: static int rtc_resume(struct device *dev)
replace:
Code:
set_normalized_timespec(&time,
newtime + delta.tv_sec,
(NSEC_PER_SEC >> 1) + delta.tv_nsec);
by:
Code:
set_normalized_timespec(&time,newtime,(NSEC_PER_SEC >> 1));
might be useful for the time being...
Dear -r0bin-
I know this post is for DEVS, and I'm far for being one
but... I'm eager to test this workaround because it's probably the most important bug for me to use android everyday (I can live with the other limitations)
so, if it's possible could you compile an upgrade with this workaround to test it with r134++?
thanks a lot!
I want to say, I not have time forwarding! Only time forwarding is presented when phone is connected to charger (usb or ac) and when option in settings/aplications/development/stay awake is not checked!!! If option is checked, Time is not forwarded anymore!!! So, time is forwarded only when charging/screen off !!!
I did it as you say and as before, when I press power button to swith off the screen and press again time is forwarded some minutes. So, unfortunately, I have still the problem. Do you have the plain r134++ (munjeni) version, or do you have some update / patch? Which SD card do you have? And which winmo ROM?
thanks!

Hi, new updates will be in new release. I have Transcend 8gb micro sdhc (android is very fast!). About my phone, my phone is branded to Spain (I can install only Spain rom - RUU_Photon_Vodafone_SPA_1.41.164.1_Radio_Signed_32.2807.05.06_0.63.05.41_Ship.exe), but with gold card method, I can install any rom. Rom I use now is: RUU_Photon_HTC_Europe_1.36.401.1_Radio_Signed_32.2803.05.06_0.63.05.36_Ship.exe and all patch updates from htc site

Sounds like a good sustem. One thing you might think of is inserting a similar procedure before the alarm rings. Or does this fix prevent the alarm ringing early? I hate alarms, and I even more hate alarms ringing early .
I think we need to implement one code in battery driver to prevent sleeping when phone is charging, I think it will fix time forewer!! Example: if (get_vbus_state) prevent_sleeping;
If possible?

in my opinion, this is ugly fix, and the phone clock change also when you plug USB or (im not too sure about this) when you phone.
we must fix it, that's all
No, time not changing when usb is connected, only is changed when sreen go to off! But when I set option in display setting to "prevent sleep when charging" I have no problem with time

First, thank you for VJDeviceLock. It really helps when you have a phone without a power button, such as the Mio A701.
I'd like to ask you if you know how to get the voice-mail notification to update without having to soft-reset the device?
My other question is: is it possible to activate MS Voice Command via Bluetooth?
Man, I'm so glad that you bought a Mio A701. Do you still have it and use it?

1. i would like to know how to make this Voice mail notification dissapear.
2. at the moment it's not possible, in the next roms it will be i hope.
Nadavi.
Nadavi,
1. Check your voice mail and then soft reset the device. This takes care of the notification for me. It seems as though the notification updates upon soft resets.
2. It's a software problem. There may be a quick fix to it.
Hi guys.
I do have a Mio A701, and it's now my "main" phone (don't worry though, My Magician and my Universal are still my main development environments). I've mentioned elsewhere, at first I wasn't particularly impressed by it, and hopefully I'll be posting a reviewette at some point, having seen a number of phones to compare it to now
At first, it shocked me how crap some of the system was, particularly the power button implementation. Too few hardware keys, and a ridiculous doubling up of the power key.
However, I wrote a new power app to replace the current crap one that takes 30 seconds to enable (and re-enabled the camera key [I've also started writing a new button remapper for it - AE Button Plus wasn't entirely happy]) and assigned it to that. However, now I also use VJDeviceLock, and it makes the system SO much better, and I'm actually enjoying it now. You can lock and power off simultaneously, and given the phone's ridiculous design flaw of switching on when the red key is pressed in your pocket, it (or similar) is essential!
Since then, I've started liking the phone... it's a little chunky, but not so much more then the magician, and I've put a lanyard on it now, I've been working with Martin Fields recently and they'll be releasing one of their excellent screen covers for it (review coming soon - and if you buy one, remember to say my name!) and so finally the system's coming together.
I'm working on some Voice Command stuff and bluetooth extension stuff, so right now, I know the system doesn't have the same HTC VC audio gateway "hooks". Frankly it's no great loss, given the bad way it was implemented in some Wm5 systems, but hopefully Mio will address that, otherwise I'll try to work on a bluetooth extension when I get some time.
I'm on o2, and they don't use the Voice Mail indicator so I didn't realise there was a bug. That sounds like a job for Mio as well...however, there may be one or two ways to help the system along. Does PhoneAlarm have the same problem?
Mio haven't done well on the rom updates so far, mine still randomly switches off, and the backlight still forgets its settings (hopefully fixable, I'm working on it). With TomTom, it still seems to think I'm doing a Tazmanian devil, spinning round and round when I'm stationary, but otherwise it works well. I used it for the first time, properly, today, and Mrs Vijay555 was suitably impressed...
I'll be writing a small GPS tool for it soon as well, to kickstart Ephemeris for use with TomTom...
All coming soon, I hope!
V
vijay, nice to hear that you're using a mio as well. bought mine like last april (or was that may) and i've been very happy with it. do let me know if (and hopefully) when you start coming up with stuff for this ppc. perhaps you can put a small section on your website for mio updates and related stuff.
btw; have you tried the version 46 rom? i downloaded a copy but have no plans yet to upgrade. been reading some forums and apparently some guys had bad experiences with the upgrades...like the device crashing. i think i'll wait for the "official" release if there ever will be one. for now i'm pretty darn happy with my unit.
cheers
rob
I tried the v46 rom.
My intense frustration with the installation resulted in my post here:
http://www.fourpages.co.uk/mioA701/viewtopic.php?p=1290#1290
basically - the installer makes no sign that it doesn't like your SD card when re-flashing, so I sat there for hours waiting for it to flash. No one ever said anywhere that when it does like your sd card, it'll give you a series of helpful status messages instead. So basically, if your sd card works, you'll know it. No one mentioned that on the boards
0.46 seems to be no different to me. However, I'd only had my system out of the box for a day or so before re-flashing, so I might have missed something, but I'm not too fond of the habit many manufacturers have of improving things so incrementally that you can't tell they've fixed anything. I'm still getting random power offs, backlight settings not retained on soft reset, some GPS randomness (but tolerable and understandable) etc. I'd probably wait until an official rom comes out. You can't blame us for trying it, but it's hardly worth the effort.
My website is being entirely redone, and it's such a painstaking task.. even I'm getting board of it. That's why I've not posted any releases for a while. Hopefully lots of new stuff coming soon.
There's a fledgling A701 forum on my website, with no posts in it, because then I was directed towards four pages...
Anyway, good device, but needs a lot of tweaking... but all in, a good buy.
V
Vijay,
Sorry for bothering you this much, but I'm having a really ugly issue with my device. If I press the button on the Bluetooth headset, it will take me to the phone application and establish a audio gateway between the headset and the device. This feature in the headset was meant to activate voice-dialing, but you know, our phone doesn't have this feature. So, if I mistakenly press the headset button, which is very easy to press, it will 1) drain the battery 2) will disable the mic if I make a call without realizing that I pressed the button previously, so the other party can't hear my voice.
So my question more directly, can I tell my phone to completely ignore the voice-dial instructions from the Bluetooth headset?
Okay, I found a solution to the problem.
Enter the Windows registry of your Mio A701 and rename the following registry path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway
to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway.bak
Use at your own risk.
yup Windows Mobile 6 pro is running on the i300 the (free upgrade from gigabyte)

so far so good
Working good the update?
No problems at al?
one thing i noticed of the bat was MS active sync program is slow.... i guess they have to fix it up, when its doing the sync its taking a lot longer, and if it doesnt work with outlook, i found the fix and this was for wm5 and wm6 is that in outlook if you download all your mail and then hit the sync button, in outlook it will then work with active sync, its a known issue i think with some older outlook ver :/
but ya right now with wm6 it lags a bit in the connection activation, i think as far as the speed its the same speed as before, its just annoying, i might try the active sync beta that is out
the os seems more responsive, i have yet to test the gps and wifi or IE
I can get working GPS
SiRFDemoPPC.zip dl that from the manu run it until u get signal if not, in settup switch to binary mode and do a col reset or reset manu settings then switch back to nmea, it can take a while, play around with it, i know that if i can get a lock with that program then i can get lock with others after i exit this one
oh the device on i300 is GSW3
Hi, just a few questions.....is the I300 as a phone any good?....is the call quality on both ends clear etc?.....and also the back speaker, is it loud?.....i am looking at getting this phone but i would like to know the above first if anyone can answer these questions for me......also does anyone know the correct gps settings to get tomtom 6 to work?.......thanks in advance!!!
Cheers
irv777
as far as quality i think its same as any other phone quality... no diff from my other phone, (moto v300) the speaker is a loud speaker ya you can play games or mp3s etc... and its loud enough IMO, but there is only so much volume and quality of something of that size, regardless of phone IMO unless a phone has stereo, but this and most phones is mono 1 speaker, the headset is stereo and BT can be stereo too
Thanks for the reply, what about tomtom 6?.....does it work with this phone and what are the ps settings to get a proper fix?.......thanks again in advance.
i havent tried tomtom6 but some ppl have i believe on this device, IMO should work just fine
http://www.gsmarena.com/gigabyte_g_smart_i300-1817.php
yeah i was just reading some reviews on it from the gsmarena website.....how are you finding the battery life though?......is battery life better with WM6 or WM5, any differences?....thanks
well i really want the 1300mah battery, but i havent been able to see one, maybe they will release one later, or some other third party will
wm6 i think might give better battery life but mostly on idle or low activity, if you run anything intensive then i dont think there is anything that will save your battery hehe the charging seems faster or it could be just me
and for the rest i think you have to get some nice tweaking util to really optimize any PPC, i for one havent bothered much... everything is installed on my miniSD card
i think since its a free upgrade its quite worth it, all the small changes to all the apps is big
i cant really say a whole lot for wm5 vs wm6 becaues i havent been using either one long enough, some other vets could have a diff opinion im sure
i think its sad that any PPC if you use anything like Wifi, GPS or if you had a TV it kills the battery life very quick... same for if you try to run something that takes up all the resources (cpu) it does about the same... i was playing the sega emu and it did drain battery life but not as bad as wifi, gps does, mp3 playback takes even less cpu, as far as movies i dont know but i think it would be a little more then mp3 depending what its encoded i think
but for movies i can use my cowon D2 PMP
btw my i300 came with 2x 900mah batteries i dont know about others but most ppl said so, those that they got from ebay
could anyone export the i300WM6 registry and post it here, please?
GPS icon in settings > connections
I have enabled GPS icon in settings > connections. Programs now can not use built in GPS. Could you please post the registry keys and values in the following location:
HKLM\Control Panel\Gps Settings\
Thanks.
How do I get the voicemail indicator to work on my Gigabyte i300? I am using ATT and it doesn't ever tell me about new voicemails nor waiting voicemails.

Sorry balikci, just saw your post today.
I did not upgrade my i300 (so, English WM5 firmware so far).
There is not such an entry (HKLM\Control panel\GPS Settings\) in my registry file!
GPS is not working with Wm6 firmware version?
GPS works perfectly fine in wm6, also the think outside ultra slim BT keyboard does work with this device you need 4.52 driver i think and disable the standard devices hid driver or so... its a check box when you run it for the first time, and then it works just right
I300 seems to have over exposure issue with the camera in wm5 and wm6, in very bright sunny area, after the first picture all pics are over exposed, if you close the app and start the first picture works perfectly but others that fallow do not... it must be a driver/software issue
could somebody help me with taking device into bootloader mode? i want to upgrade to WM6
in it's official website , it says you need to push Send End and power key , while the device is off.
first , what is send and end keys? green and red ones?
second , which one is power key? the suspend key or the soft reset hole key?
third , what does it mean by turning device off ? suspend it or turn it off completely , if so how?
and , is this ROM
http://www.gigabytecm.com/Eng/gbc_supportdetail.aspx?sid=26
WWE , i heard there are certain parts non english , which is okey , but if you know of any full WWE link , please let me know
cheers
king_dani, Send (green) is what you use to aswer a call, End (red) is what you press to end a call. Power key's the suspend key. Turning device off means turning it off compleatly, just hold the power key to turn the device off. The rom you gave the link to is WWE.

thnx alot man , so at least i know i'm pushing the right keys. well i tried these combination , in completely shut down device , still, it turns on and won't go into bootloader mode , for some yet unknown reason. plus , do you know if i should empty the whole card ? or can i use a partially loaded miniSD card? i mean , would it work if there are other files on it , and also , should they files be on root folder?
cheers
try another combination: turn the device on, hold Send and End keys, do a soft reset (don't release send and end buttons!), wait for Image Utility. All files from a downloaded archive should be placed in a root folder (/Storage card). It's Ok if there're files on a card.
I updated to 7720 and machine becomes even slower.
Here is a list of problems that I have (not only in 7720 version, some of them exist in official OS too)
1. Two alarms set at the same time will halt the system. The only solution is re-starting the machine.
2. Can NOT "answer" call when system is in sleep mode. No re-start needed but clicking the power button to light the screen first.
3. Noise in the alert during a new email comes in.
4. System acts very slowly in some xbox-live games. (Ex. PES 2011, it looks like need more memory)
5. Machine always shown a new voice mail in my mailbox, even my voice box is empty. I have not find any solution for this yet.
My question is, does MS take care of WP7 seriously?
1. Do we need the battery percentage number?
Yes, we do. Click setting --> battery --> scroll down to the end to see the little precious number.
2. Do we need to turn on/off wiki, 3G data?
Yes, we do. Setting --> wifi--> on/off and setting --> data -> on/off
I did NOT understand how MS claims this is a productivity lift as using a WP7 phone.
Educated me please.
my answer is ...................... go jump off a roof to solve all your problems by "machine" i suppose you he mean the MOBILE PHONE.. but why machine..? it's not like it is a car or something.. nevermind.. about your problem... if you really have updated to build 7220 (which actually is not a OFFICIAL or any LEAKED build) then the problem you're facing will be because of that build.. however.. if your build number is a typo, then your build should be 7720 and i would suggest you to reinstall the software and see if there's any improvment.. i havent updated to 7720 i'm still on 7712 but everything is working like a charm.. and the answer to your last question.. YES!! Microsoft is REALLY taking care of the windows phone development.. the only problem is they follow Apple's footsteps.. making your phone better with bitesizes
Troll...... Listen up.
1st This is the wrong section to be posting in.
2nd Im willing to bet the problems that your having are more of user error issues that anything else.
If you dont like WP7, sell your phone and get a new one with a differnt OS. Problem sloved.
I am not native English speaker. So the machine in my dictionary means mobile phone.
my problem is not only in 7720 build. I hope i can say it works like a charm.
unfortunately it does not.
anyway, thank you for your inputs.

This is a development thread, you should be posting in the general or questions section. I know english is your second languge, but I do think you should be able to read well enough to figure that out. And if you have a terrible life change it up, dont just sit there complaining. So the same goes for your phone, if you dont like your OS change to a different one.

my focus on 7720 exhibits NONE of those issues. i would say it's either your phone specifically, your sofware (reload it) or you.
msft has been the most proactive in listening to their consumer base compared to any of the other mobile OS providers.
I can't speak about the games but I don't have any of the other problems with my WP7 build 7712.
The last one is an issue with either your carrier or your SIM.

A lot of the promise of WP7 is to eliminate the need for some of the obsessive low-level tweaking and constant tinkering needed to get the most from a mobile phone.
In other words, why do you actually want to constantly be turning off wi-fi and 3G data? Probably because other phones and previous experience tells you that you have to do those things in order to prolong your battery life. Same with battery meters.
With WP7 I no longer feel the need to know the exact percentage of battery remaining. The user experience is optimized to focus on productivity and not on obsessive details. I am very happy to have tiles with my loved ones, apps I use a lot, facebook updates, and inboxes on my home screen instead of having to clutter it up with gauges and switches.
If you really can't live without those things, I suggest Android. Again I'll say that they're only necessary to overcome traditional shortcomings of other mobile platforms.
The first is indeed a big problem, android has a good deal.Hope to solve the problem ms
Guys, this issue has been pestering for a month now and I seem to have not found a fix for this yet. I first started to notice the problem with my phone when I was unable to attend the calls, the screen will usually get stuck or i will not be able to swipe up the green button during the call. Even if sometimes I manage to i will be able to hear the other person speak but I wont be able to speak to them. So sometimes once I restart the phone it will seem to work fine for an indefinite period of time and again it starts.
Then things started getting very bad, sometimes during normal device usage, the screen just turns to a monochrome black and white screen ( just as you see when there was no signal on older television sets). And when I switch to the bootloader screen, when I power the device on, I get a very thin green line for an instant on the screen and then the booting sequence starts.
I have made a lot of factory resets and stock image flashing, and by far I noticed one considerably situation, the times when the sound functions fine, the booting sequence where the 4 google dots animation appears and when there is no sound, the booting sequence gets stuck on Google and made by Google screen.
Other observations are during abnormal device behavior, no function related to sound will properly. To elaborate it, Google assistant wont work, videos cannot be played and even the system sounds wont be heard. I am open to suggestions here. Please let me know what can be done to test the phone out. FYI I know there is a problem with the Pixel microphone, but I am not convinced that its the exact problem. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you.
Sounds like a hardware defect. RMA if possible.
Sent from my Pixel using XDA Labs
It is a hardware issue indeed, I am facing the same issue, I contacted google , they told that replacement is possible tho I'm out of Canada at the moment so I'm just dealing with it through my Bluetooth earphones, everybody works fine with Bluetooth.
That's the only way I suppose!...did you get the phone directly from the Google store?...are they accepting phones bought from a retailer?...since I am in Singapore now...Google support is next to nothing here...try contacting them but it's of no use...only when I get to India I will be able to go forward with the replacement!.....but the thing is .... yesterday...I updated the phone to Oreo and the audio stopped working completely....and after repeated switching between safe and normal mode....the speakers are working now...but the microphone is still busted.
This happened to me, I was given a replacement phone from EE UK
Current update guys...as per the pixel support centre person's suggestion ...I rebooted the device to safe mode to check if the phone is operating normally ...which it did not....but surprisingly ...after restarting to normal mode ...it started working normally again...my query is how is this zeroed down to an hardware issue if in case it's perfectly working for a while and at some point goes bonkers...can you guys please enlighten me on this...coz I don't have much knowledge on the hardware field.

Tough luck mate! Sorry to hear that....you can check it out by pressing down the power button until you get the power off and restart menu. Keeping pressing down on the power off menu...it will reboot to safe mode without your prompt. In safe mode for me it was the same....maybe you will have a better luck...try it out!

well, its been almost an hour the phone wont turn sound back on.
Keep switching it to and out of safe mode...at some point ideally at least the speakers must start lest the microphone. Tried contacting Google about it and no response at all...mine started acting weird only for the past month...I suppose from the Aug months patch update....tried reverting it back to previous stock versions...but I suppose the damage is permanently done
When I contacted google, they told me to send it back to Canada and let someone there give it to google.. which won't happen in my case , my phone also started acting like this after Oreo beta . Now I will restart the phone whenever it happens to get it back working :/
The only reason I am still sticking to this phone is coz of it's camera. Planning to get back to India around December to get this fixed. Support for pixel in Singapore now is next to nothing since it wasn't launched here. I had no problem at all with the Nexus line up but this is kind of a disappointment.

Hmmm I don't remember connecting to a laptop via Bluetooth.. you mean for file transfer ? Anyway Bluetooth has nothing to do with the sound issue we are facing, it might be your laptop Bluetooth driver needs to be updated

Sorry to hear so, I actually installed ElementalX kernel and it is less to happen. Try to flash the kernel.

Planning to do just that....I may have better luck with a custom kernel...will post an update once I have flashed it.
I had been on the 8.0 beta for a while. Then got 8.0.
Though just 2 days ago, my mic was starting to have issues. Then yesterday, only my speaker phone would work.
Now I can't get any audio/mic except though Bluetooth (I've got a portable speaker with a mic, and Bluetooth on my car.
Contacted Google support. Will be getting a replacement on their warranty.
They didn't tell me this, but I did some searching, and apparently many of the pixels (mostly from the first 3 months of production) had an issue with the soldering of the audio codec. though usage, little bumps here and there, that soldering can get loose. Which explains why my audio and mic were spotty, and within an hour yesterday morning, all aspects of it stopped working.
So, it's a hardware issue.
Hello all I need help!
Just bought a seicane H286 MTCE_HF_V3.07_1 9" android 9 everything looks good except for the clock. everytime I turn off the engine and the time is 2:15pm, when I turn the engine back on 30mins or however long later the clock is starting at 2:15pm and counting. I toggled update time with GPS on/off, I toggled update with carrier on/off but nothing work. The only time it's update the time with GPS is when I reset the unit. really frustrating with tech support they keep insisting that the unit is automatically update time with gps! If anyone have any solution please help. thank you.
Yes, this is a known issue, search forums for details on update or contact reseller for support/update.
hello, even my autoradio (wondefoo) rh3368 mtce_cz, cpu octacore cortex-a53 @ 1.5 android 9 has your same problem ... surely there is a software bug, the seller told me that he will send me an update. .. ps to the most expert: is it possible to downgrade from android 9 to 8 without risking ?

I recently purchased a 10.1 Seicane H2038 rk3368 unit that seems to be using the same MTCE_HF_V3.07_1 firmware. I also had an issue with the time being incorrect when returning from sleep. I was able to correct the issue by updating the android OS to the latest available (in the Daisata updates thread) HA_px5_9.0_ota(20190521) - please note that that this performed a data reset when applying.
There appears to be a newer PX5 HA_px5_9.0_ota(20190528) firmware posted now that I have not tested, but I assume that should work as well:

I did not upgrade the MCU firmware.
If I know how to root it I can install clocksync and have it automatically sync the clock to gps signal

yesterday I installed the version ha_px5_9_ota and the problem of updating the timetable has been solved, the only problem is that as equalization power and audio volume is less than the original rom.
I solved it by rooting it and using tasker. What I found out was whenever I toggle location on and off the timeupdate to gps time, so I used tasker to toggle it.
First I rooted by using adb method found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...5-mtcd-e-head-unit-discussion-thread-t3734189 (very helpful to watch the youtube video)
be sure to install hacker's keyboard from play store and use notepad++ on your pc. not sure why regular keyboard didn't work in terminal emulator. I had to root twice for it to work.
install tasker, in profile I set "Display State" to "on" so every time I turn on the car it'll run the task. In task I set it to wait 5 seconds, turn off location, wait a second and turn it back on.
go back to adb on pc and run command: adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
that's it! now whenever I turn on the car it'll take a couple seconds to set the correct time.
hello, I have finished configuring everything and I must say that I am very satisfied with this version, if I can afford to give you some advice ... try installing it also because it seems better to receive gps satellites and do not need other applications to update the 'schedule.
My hu has Carplay built in and don’t want to risk it with a new rom
would it be the carplay?

Any body have any version of mtce_hf plz
Hello everyone. I received an updated Firmware directly from seicane for their head unit. This is Android 10 update for the 2/32 GB unit. Everything seems to be working great so far on unit. If you would like to try it for yourself please feel free to download and install. I'm not too tech savvy so if you have any questions I'll answer them the best I can. Thought I would share for anyone to update their own unit if possible
PLEASE BE ADVISED YOU USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I will not be held responsible for any damages done to your own unit.
Thank you!
