Guys, a week ago my ohone started to act strange.
Randomly it does't detect the letter I'm trying to press on the screen. if i switch it to landscape it works perfectly, and when I go back to portrait the problem is still there.
It gets fixed by it's own or if I restart the phone, but it's starting to be annoying.
I'm on the stock Rom btw.
Same problem
I've been having the same problems but I think it has only happened to me when I use custom ROMs such as Cyanogenmod or Coredroid. When I went back to stock I don't remember it happening.
I was running Coredroid V8.1 a few weeks ago and didn't like it because the font looked terrible but I think the keyboard didn't give that problem, it was with an older version of CD. Right now I am using Cyanogenmod 7.0 and it happens a lot and gets annoying. I now for a fact that is not hardware since the keyboard will work normally on landscape and other stuff will respond to the touchscreen.
Still trying to see if there is some sort of fix or to use a new keyboard. Installed GO keyboard and same thing happened, now using Swiftkey X and it happened also but now I took the protective case to see if that has something to do with it LOL.

I recently bought a used HTC Dream from ebay that was working perfectly for the first 2 days, until i rooted and flashed CM 5. Shortly after the screen started to freeze as soon as I opened the keyboard and if I pressed any buttones or taped anything on the screen nothing would happen until I slid the keyboard back in, as if it were "catching up". I tried reseting and flashing the original firmware and nothing seemed to fix this problem. I am currently running CM 6 RC1 and have to use the on screen keyboard. Has this happened to anyone? I tried google and the only problems I have seen don't seem to have a fix. Thanks in advance.
Anyone, please?
I am not a noob when it comes to the Xoom. I haven't had a lot of time with it. I purchased it about 90 days ago from woot.com. It was a refurb. I had no problem rooting it and putting Tiamat 2.2 on it. After about a month of using Tiamat my xoom started freezing up. The only button that would work was the lock and unlock button. I thought maybe it was the ROM so I installed the stock ROM back on. I was able to do all of the over the air updates to ICS 4.0.3 just fine. Now the freezing continues. I have sent the tablet back to Motorola 2 times now and problem still persists. If I am playing a game, watching a you tube video, or clicking settings. The screen still has all the animations but, the touch is unresponsive for a good minute or two. I can press the lock screen and it locks. I can press to unlock it and the touch is unresponsive. until I lock/unlock three or four times. To make short question long, I am just curious if people have had the same problem. Pretty much Motorola can't or won't fix it. I was hoping somebody out there had or is having a similar problem. I have done all the reboots in the book and the problem is still there. I haven't been able to find any answers. If you need more info let me know. Are they treating me like this because I bought a refurb? Do they really not care that I have a $400.00 paper weight? Thanks for your time.
Quick Question, you stated you were using Tiamat 2.2. Do you mean the Kernal, or android version
The more detail about these we get the more we can help.
If you rooted and installed a ICS build, that may be the issue in of itself.
With both my Dinc and Xoom I have had issues with ICS doing this, mainly on things that require graphics/rendering. Normally plain text webpages are fine, but if they get graphic heavy or use a uncommon language, then it seems to make ICS act up.
As far as I know there is no actual fix as of yet.
i bought my gf a thunderbolt about 2 months ago. and lately her screen just starts acting up. like the home screen will just spin and pretty much spaz. she can be in the middle of something and widgets start moving around and the screen starts spinning. thers no case or any screen protectors. anyone have any ideas?
My aunt had this same problem and I didn't believe how crazy it was until I attempted to use her phone, I never seen a phone act like that. I tried an assortment of things to fix it but nothing I tried worked. She did have a screen protector on that I thought could be causing that problem but I guess not. She has sense then taken it back to version and had it replaced. No issues from the referb.

digatizer?
Mine recently starting acting funky and strange but not as you describe. It was almost as if a magnet was pulling some of the pixels and causing distortion of colors. It also seemed to freeze up my camera really strange like.. I removed PRO HDR which is a cam app I recently updated and did a reboot and now it's fine. You try a back up/wipe/restore yet?
I have had this happen as well but it seems to happen to me if I set the phone down and don't push the button to put the phone to sleep. It actually happened much more when I was unrooted and running stock but since installing Liquid Smooth GB 3.2 the frequency has really diminished. If anyone has a permanent fix I would love to hear it and try it out.
im really baffled im pissed because i didint buy it through verizon so idk maybe i can contact htc fora referb.
I've never dabbled in HTC customer service but I'm sure they would back a phone with troubles such as yours

I'm having an issue where random keys stop working on the keyboard. The keys are never the same and it happens completely at random. This has happened to 2 different Inspires after rooting and flashing CoreDroid. Initially I thought it was something wrong with the keyboard so I changed keyboards and the problem persisted. I then switched to ARHD after doing a super wipe on one of the Inspires and the problem arose again.
An example of the issue. When I want to hit the 'h' on the keyboard it won't respond. I'll be able to hit every key around it but not the h. It's never consistent in which key it is and it doesn't seem to have a patter of appearance.
Is anyone else experiencing the issue or is it just me? Any ideas on what could possibly fix it? I'm likely going to flash an ICS ROM to see if the problem pops up in an ICS ROM as well.
I've never seen anyone complain of this before. Since you say it's different keys every time, then it's definitely not a digitizer issue. It has to be software, but since you say you've had the same problem on 2 different phones, with different ROMs and different keyboard software, I'm stumped.
I've seen this issue around the threads before and I've had this issue several tines before (mainly only with ics roms). Mine always corrects itself once I tilt the phone to landscape and then rotate it back up. No as far as why its doing it? I dunno
"I love my Springfield XD40"
ya force it to rotate screen, or power screen off and back on will correct it. its a bug that has always floated around with non-sense roms. minor really
I've only noticed this after I installed an ICS rom on the phone. I get a similar issue while typing that a single key will be unresponsive. It seems to take about 2 seconds for it to work again.
The time doesn't appear to be affected if you keep tapping the screen, or just wait.
Well, if nothing else it's at least good to have confirmation than I'm not nuts
is the problem occuring only with this particular ROM?
Yes, I have seen this on a number of GB ROMs.
OK now I know there isn't a Ghost in my phone but at times my phone behaves like its possessed. The problem is with the touch screen. At times my phones starts to do stuff on its own. Like open random apps, bring down the notification bar and then brings it back up. Once it even opened my whatsapp and then opened the keyboard and typed a message and sent it to an contact. And during this time it doesn't really respond to my touches. But it happens very rarely like ones in two days and that too for a min or two. Been happening for a two weeks now. I have the latest CM 7 Nightly installed. So what do u reckon is happening? Is it a software bug or an Hardware bug? And how do I fix it?

I had the same problem. LG Service Center said, that they need to change the touchscreen. Try to flash another ROM, if you get the same problem, then unroot and flash stock firmware and go to LG Service Center or change the screen yourself
But I hope it's your ROM, good luck!
on my sgs i have this weird ghost while charging.. are you running ics?

Change your kernel, these may be kernel panicks.

This could be a reason cause it all began when I flashed DJNoXD's Kernel 2.5.2. But then I re flashed the latest CM 7 nightly over it and it continued to show the symptom's. Also I did not over clock, never did.
Today when it showed the same possessed behavior, I pressed the power button and it at once came back to my control. So I guess its a temporary solution to it.

It never happened during charging.
Found the Culprit
It was being caused by a pair of external speakers, which has it own power source, which I connected to the phone. I am guessing the speaker was sending some kind of charge to the phone. When I connected the speaker, the touchscreen completely stopped working. and even after I disconnected the speaker the touchscreen would continue to behave the way I described in my first post. Probably stored that charge somewhere. Bottom line, now that I have stopped connecting the speakers its stopped that behavior. There case solved. Feel like Scooby Doo. There was no Ghost after all.
Lolzz..
