[CWM] ClockworkMod Recovery porting for I9003 - Final Release

CWM Recovery for GT-I9003 by Skin1980:​
This is the full-functional CWM recovery ported by me for the Samsung GT-I9003. Here some screenshot:

One thing to know is that in this version External SD is called SDCard. This because SDCard is used by CWM as backup support. For the same reason also the USB Storage mounted under "Mount and Storage" menù is related to external SD.
How to install:
Install this CWM is very easy, just flash the .tar file with odin ( put the .tar in the PDA field).
You can also use heimdall under linux. Just extract the normalboot.img file and do:

IMPORTANT: Read this topic on Edify scripting used on update.zip. The partitions must be mounted before copying files:

Flashing Zip Files:
If in the updater-script there isn't the "mount /system" option you must - before apply the zip - mount manually /system under "Mount and Storage" menù and then flash your zip.

IMPORTANT: The recovery isn’t universal, all firmware is different so don’t flash the recovery for a firmware different from your!!!! Since i don’t have all firmware on my PC upload your normalboot.img to me with the name of your firmware so i can build the CWM.
The normalboot.img can be found in the PDA tar of your firmware (if you have it on the PC). Alternatively you can dump it from phone with this command:

Just copy your zip on sd the choose to apply any zip from SD

hey, this is not going ahead of Samsung Galaxy GT-I9003 screen and keeps on looping.. what to do? i have 2.3.4 is this only for 2.2.1??

as i wrote it's only for xxkb3 FW... if you have another one please upload normalboot.img to me..... another thing... you must also post the output of the mounts command (open adb shell and do "mounts")

- Nandroid perform a full backup of the Rom so you can restore if you soft-brick your mobile;
- USM mount permit to mount your USB in mass storage mode while you are in recovery.

Works great... dude... Now waiting for nandroid backup. But this alpha itself is of great help.
While using it, I faced minor problem, when I press home button for selecting option it jumps two steps inside as if pressing a hard button. I mean after entering the first option it enters the next menu also. But then after trying 3-5 times carefully, I get the option that I want to select. Just check if you have this problem. Anyways this is not a major issue for me as I can save my phone and it is alpha release so does not matter at all.

Oh...finally you did it skin...!!!! I have a small doubt...I read on the net by searching alot...but still i am not understanding the difference between CWM & nandroid backup??? I know only that android backup means doing a backup of whole rom as an image...but what is exact meaning of CWM???? Is thete any relation between them?? Please can anybody explain...it will be helpful fot other also...!!!!

ClockworkMod Recovery is the default recovery option by the CyanogenMod, it has several additional features over plain 3e recovery and uses Edify scripting exclusively.

Requirements:
Basic skills in using adb or terminal emulator.
Installation:
It is recommended to do a clean install with this FlashTool first, then install the recovery image, so there is no problem with the sizes of the partitions of the internal sd.
1. Unzip the file you downloaded, you will get recovery.img
2. Copy recovery.img in your sdcard
3. Now type the following command in adb shell or in Terminal emulator:

dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3
4. It will show a message after a while, it means it's completed
Usage:
1. Turn off the device
2. Turn on the device
3. When the boot logo appears, press immediately the menu button and hold it down for 3sec approximately.
Working:
Not everything is tested yet. You are the testers for the most of the things. I've tried a backup & restore, it worked. Also tried installing a modified kernel image, it worked too.
Known bugs:
Some errors about /cache are displayed when you boot, factory reset or wipe cache. They stop if you go every time under "mounts and storage" and you mount the cache partition.

but it dosnt work .....................i cam boot into CWM recovery but i cant read any of the options stated there.........

I didn't unpack the image, I compiled from source. Unfortunately I lost the modified sources so I can't help you :/

[ROM] Miui V5 ZTE Acqua

Hello Zte Acqua Lovers.
Here is my first port for this phone.
1. You must be rooted and have CWM installed. ( If you wanna tutorial pm me)
2. You just download the zip and and place it at your SD
3. Then go to CWM and isntall the zip.
4. Wipe data/ chache and reboot
5. DONE

well, so far i need to point this:
-> when using titanium backup, miui should allow it to restore all apps at once withpout the need to always ask if we wanna install or the extra miui trusting settings. (maybe there's any option hidden i need to check)
-> if long pressing the menu key, no list of recent apps is shown.
-> everything goes on homescreen, but i noticed this is usual for all miui's.

Thank you for your comment and i should fix this bug with menu button and task cleaner.
For titanium backup i think is a app bug with miui framework and it's now the rom.

No no the ZTE Acqua has 512mb ram too. This screenshots is form another Miui V5 phone. You can install it without problems. Thank you

[GUIDE] WIPE multiple SD-EXT partitions with TWRP recovery

Welcome guys, with this short guide you'll be able to wipe any number of SD-EXT partitions with the help of a powerful feature inside TWRP recovery. Furthermore you'll get always fresh ext4 partitions without journal in just one shot.
TOOLS
1. MiniTool Partition Wizard (Google it if you don't have it already installed).
2. TWRP recovery 2.3.6.0 for Pico (click here).
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Get your ext4 partions done with MiniTool Partition Wizard. You can see here a very good guide.
2. Insert your SD card into Pico and boot into TWRP recovery.
3. Once inside TWRP, click MOUNT button. Check that SD-Ext is not selected (unmounted), otherwise you could damage your partition.

4. Go back to start screen and tap ADVANCED button then TERMINAL COMMAND button. Check that it is in Root folder (/). Tap SELECT button.
5. Write the folowing inside the command window and press enter.

mke2fs -t ext4 -O ^has_journal /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
6. Repeat the process if you have more sd-ext partitions, you just have to edit the last number in the command line and press enter (for 2 sd-ext partitions mmcblk0p2 is first partition and mmcblk0p3 is second partition).
7. Now you have fresh formated ext4 partitions and without journal for maximum speed. Now flash your favorite ROM that supports multiple sd-ext partitions and ENJOY!
8. Repeat this process (from number 3) whenever you'll flash a new ROM. I hope one day TWRP incorporates multiple SD-ext partitions handling.

Just the part related to creating the partitions! One sd-ext can be created with any recovery. For more than one we need MiniTool.

Thanks, btw in that guide (http://s11.postimg.org/yjknyd51v/image.png) SD-DATA and SD-CACHE were done. And Amal said that partition should be SD-SYSTEM , SD- DATA. I'm confused here.. PFA of my sdcard partition!

Don't worry, names doesn't matter, just the order. First ext4 partition from top to bottom (in MiniTool) will be mmcblk0p2 and so on.

But twrp doesn't mount sd-ext 4 from mini tool

IMO, I find it easier to type in Aroma's Terminal, even though I have TWRP

The keyboard in TWRP is very good but tiny as everything in Pico, just tipe in carefully.
Don't touch that 'kill' button, leave the magic work. Kill is always bad!

no os found
after creating 3 ext as ext 2 ,3 n 4 ........i success fully installed rom but i found error as no os found ??? help

I have 3 ext4 partitions, created via MiniParition Tools
SD-SYSTEM ---> EXT4 ---> 500 mB is enough
SD-DTA ----> EXT4 ----> 1 GB
SD-CACHE ---> EXT4 ---> 150 MB
SD-EXT unmounted, and command "mke2fs -t ext4 -O ^has_journal /dev/block/mmcblk0p2" (last digit 3 and 4) doesn't work. But sometimes it works...
Can't understand why...?

However, when I format data I get the following error in my TWRP: Failed to mount 'system_root' (Read-only file system).
I tried unsuccessfully tried fixing it by starting Terminal in TWRP and typing "mount -o rw,remount /system". I get "mount: can't find /system in /etc/fstab. with "mount -s system", I get a bunch of text but nothing that makes sense to me.
I hope somebody can help me out here...I just bought it :crying:

I have the same issue. Just install fresh rom with xiaomi tool and everything should be fine.

I successfully flashed, but I still get "failed to mount /system_root (read-only file system)"...

what rom are you trying to flash?

What TWRP version did you install? I recommend 3.4.2B from LR.Team.

I have it...the problem is still that the system_root is "read-only"...:crying::crying::crying:
EDIT: after flashing with the xiaomitool, I now get error when formating data: failed to mount /odm invalid argument

The one automatically downloaded by the flash tool. It is: lmi_eea_global_images_V12.0.2.0.QJKEUXM_20200730.0000.00_10.0_eea_7a4654b9f8

I had this problem a few days ago. To solve it, I had to reflash the rom (without formatting any partition) from twrp, ignoring the errors. (I'm on xiaomi.eu stable rom)
The important thing is to never modify the system partition (via lucky patcher or other tool) after installing Magisk, otherwise the phone won't reboot.

Look the picture, I reflashed the rom with twrp. I still get the error cannot mount.
I see that some people have solved it by external rom installation, using adb sideload? How do I do that?

I tried flashing via adb sideload in twrp, my devices wasnt recognized. Had to use my OTG USB Flashdrive.

ok i try side loading

I had same problem and go to twrp,format data type YES then reboot to twrp and clean cache,data,dalvik,interal,not wipe system...and reboot to twrp,put stable rom from xiaoimi.eu and flash it
