How is on HTC and LG? Is the same?
HTC, LG users, just tell me what is behaviour of yours search button please.
my search button always bring me to bing search page since build 7004. never brought me to ie..... htc mozart b7712
my phone always brought bing search when i press search button...from 7004 to 7712....
Then it is problem with my Omnia. I reflash it, and it is still the same. Strange?
You changed localization I think. Change everyting back to english usa, reboot, and it will be ok.
Thanx a lot Elastep. Browser & search language should be set to English (UK or USA) and it works. Thanx again

After having installed the HTC cab for TomTom (just the app + one free city map) on my Orbit 2 I noticed that TomTom has hijacked the Windows button.
I've been through every option in the TomTom settings, but can't find a way to stop this.
Can anyone advise a simple way of making my windows button go back to its original purpose (brings up the start menu) - other than uninstalling TomTom (I can work that out for myself!)
Thanks,
Roy.
Try the Settings of WM6 !
Mine is german, so i can´t tell you exactly what to do.
I mean it has to be Menu-Setting-Keys
Key 1 is what is changed by TomTom.
Change this setting to whatever you like.

Yeah, in the English version its Start/Settings/Buttons, then change the one that says TomTom to <Start Menu>
thanks
Thank you to both of you.
Exactly what I needed.

Does that work with the Touch Cruise, too? I ask that, because the Touch Cruise has a GPS-Button instead of a Windows button.
PS: I don't own a Windows Mobile phone, but want to buy one in near future.
Yep, curiously the icons for the buttons are for mail and calendar, just like the first two buttons on most WM phones.

But I want one key to open the Windows Start Menu and one key as OK key. Can I assign them like that?
yes, you can assign any application and some functions without troubles.
Anyone know of a way to get the Google Maps search tab back into TF3D (like the Manila2D tab from the Tilt)? Thanks
im wondering the same thing
i flashed romeos its not there either
MAPS TAB
I have been asking for a MAPS SEARCH TAB on Touchflow for weeks.
wouldn't be that hard to just jabe a tab and google maps to work... use a tab you don't like or don't use, change the two icons for it, in the manila for the tabs, change the link to externallink "googlemaps.lnk" and itll run google maps, but if you want it in tf3d... i can't help lol sorry

I was just reading the Wiki page. Under tips it shows a file to add tabs. Not sure if it can be done through the file but you may want to look there. I am looking to remove the AT&T tab...
Why not remap the PTT button...
I use the long press PTT button to get into Google Maps. There are links all over hte place on how to do it. Works great.

There never was a Google Maps tab in TF3D, so you can't "get it back" and currently nobody has created a workaround. So unless someone decides to take the task upon themselves to create a way to do it, then you're out of luck for now.
I seem to recall a Google Maps tab on one of early Manilla ROMS for the Kaiser. The tab had a input box to search for an address or business.
Why Not Use The Soft Key?
Since no one was able to fix you up as you wished, how about the option of allocating the right soft key in the home screen to Google Maps?
This can be done using DiamonTweak, section 14 of that useful app.
Good luck.
Thanks...I guess the answer is I can create a shortcut but I can't get the old Manila2D page unless someone writes it.
So, I can map it to PTT, long press of Phone or the home soft key but I'll probably either keep it on the programs tab or add it to the internet tab to launch gmaps (following these instructions: http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=657).
My long and short press PTT's are already taken up, so it would be a huge help if someone could make this happen. I've seen others with custom tabs on the touch flo 3d, so I know its possible, I guess no one has got around to putting it together just yet.
From what I understand you'd have to cook it into the rom, I have no knowledge of this yet but give it some time.
Generalizing, I really thought it be sweet to add as many tabs to tf3d as you please, once my roommate returns from japan we may have to undertake this challenge.
if its possible...
Hi dear,
I'm using Samsung Omnia 7 and I've successfully updated my phone to 7.0.7392.0.
But when I tried to search some place in bing "MAP" application, it just goes the bing search screen. I don't when it's been launched like this.
Anybody can help me?
My phone use I8700XENJK1 CSC.
There is a search button in the app. Just tap it.
Yeah, I did. But it goes to Bing Search.
it's within in the app, not the search button on the phone itself...
cheers,
simon

have a look at the following registry key on your wp7-device:
[HKLM\System\Search\LanguageSupport\xx-XX] (where xx-XX is your locale)
insert or set
RoutingSupported=dword:1
SearchSupport=dword:1
then it should be fixed!
confirmed the bing-search thing (within the maps application) by setting the value for RoutingSupported to 0 on my device --> hitting the search button opens bing search
changing it back to 1 gives me the ability to serch for destinations in the maps application...
cheers,
simon
p.s. your device has to be unlocked to use any registry editor - I used WP7 root tools by Heathcliff74 for changing the registry values...
see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021135
does it work with the changed registry key?
cheers,
simon
I'm trying now Thank you so much mate!
But it still doesnt work....
in which area do you live and what input locales did you set?
the first time I had to change my phone to german (germany) instead of german (austria) to able to search within the maps...
with german (austria) I had the same issues as you have - but with the two registry keys set I'm able to search within bing maps...
Damm, I have asked about this 2 weeks ago
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060443
It worked with polish local settings. Tested on LG E900, used build in registry editor.
PS code for Polish is pl-pl.

BTW: which values did you add?
RoutingSupported=dword:1
SearchSupport=dword:1
or did you add GeocodeSupported=dword:1 as well?

Only RoutingSupported and SearchSupport.
PS I have pre-nodo WP7 version.

I live in New Zealand and I set en-NZ input locales.
Still I can't search in bing map
Finally it works now on both devices, Samsung Omnia 7 and LG quantum
Thank you guys! It's so useful and easy!
what I have on my device:
regional settings are all to German (Austria)
HKLM\System\Search\LanguageSupport\de-AT
GeocodeSupported : DWord=1
RoutingSupported : DWord=1
SearchSupported : DWord=1
HKLM\System\SearchMaps\Configuration
AutoSuggestTimeoutMS : DWord=600
AutoSuggestUnsupportedLocale : DWord=0
MapsHistoryDeleted : DWord=0
MapsLocationAccess : DWord=1
OnlineAutoSuggest : DWord=1
SearchLocationAccess : DWord=0
SearchLocationConsentPrompted : DWord=1
I had a look at HKLM\System\Search\LanguageSupport\en-NZ as well:
without any changes there are
OnlineAutoSuggestions : DWord=1
SearchSupport : DWord=1
I just changed my regional settings to en-NZ on my device (with en-US as display language), opened bing maps and was able to search within the app (no fallback to bing search)... I was even able to navigate to a destination
What happens if you set your regional settings to en-AU?
Does it work then?
I hope you get your problem fixed...
cheers,
simon

But it seems it can't find any places in NZ.
It's weird.
I just set the one from your configuration. I'm gonna reboot it.
Thank you so much simon

I had the same problem after setting
HKLM\System\Search\LanguageSupport\de-AT
GeocodeSupported : DWord=1
When I delete this entry, search is fine again
I can reproduce this error, when setting the registry key GeocodeSupported : DWord=1 again
seems like some regions (like de-AT or en-NZ) do not support all features of bing maps (en-US has some more features)...
Try to delete the GeocodeSupported key and search should be ok again...
cheers,
simon
Yeah I deleted that key and it works so fine
Sent from my OMNIA7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Can someone confirm is bing local scout, audio, vision bing maps turn by turn working on omnia 7???

wait a bit n it works
Now i'm REinstalling mago,i hope it will work this time
they are location specific btw .. they might not be yet there in your country ... just to let you know
Still no bing vision, local scout, turn by turn:/I'm from croatia.
Here in Canada = no Bing Vision, no Local Scout... it's irritating.
Bing Vision and Bing Audio working fine here.
I'm from Brazil but my live ID is US.
My bing local scout, audio, vision bing maps turn by turn worked when I launch mango the first time. Then after several hours,it just disappeared. Quite weird.
I found the answer: I changed the system local to china.
So you need to only change system local to china, and you will get bing vision, scout ....??Can somebody confirm tihs?
Bing services are fine in the UK if you want to try that locale.
Sorry for my wrong expression.
I mean I cant find the bing audio/scout/... after i set system locale from US to China.
I tried change system locale from china to US. Not work.
But then I changed browser/search language to US, bing audio/.. come back.
Does anyone have Bing Music?
I changed my locale from Canada to US and got the improved vision & the local scout, but there's still no sign of Music on my end.
When i press the search button (touch hardware button), its not take me to bing search app in win phone!
I have HD7 with nextGen+ ver2.2
any suggestion?
region setting
if in the settings, region+language, browser & search language is not set to one of these listed here [microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/howto/wp7/basics/feature-and-service-availability.aspx] (at the bing-section), then it will just open the browser.
thanks vlllaron
But i check what u say and its ok.im also change it to us to be sure, and its still opened with browser
?
that's strange. if i know it well, only this setting affects it.. if it's us (or any other supported country) it should work...
Change the "regional system configuration" and "Nav and search language" to English (United States), for me it remains in spanish, but enables Vision, Music and Local
Hope it works
Tnx xopy
bUt its not work
No problem, flash new rom soon
Tnx all
