I have been asking for a MAPS SEARCH TAB on Touchflow for weeks.
wouldn't be that hard to just jabe a tab and google maps to work... use a tab you don't like or don't use, change the two icons for it, in the manila for the tabs, change the link to externallink "googlemaps.lnk" and itll run google maps, but if you want it in tf3d... i can't help lol sorry

I was just reading the Wiki page. Under tips it shows a file to add tabs. Not sure if it can be done through the file but you may want to look there. I am looking to remove the AT&T tab...
Why not remap the PTT button...
I use the long press PTT button to get into Google Maps. There are links all over hte place on how to do it. Works great.

There never was a Google Maps tab in TF3D, so you can't "get it back" and currently nobody has created a workaround. So unless someone decides to take the task upon themselves to create a way to do it, then you're out of luck for now.
I seem to recall a Google Maps tab on one of early Manilla ROMS for the Kaiser. The tab had a input box to search for an address or business.
Why Not Use The Soft Key?
Since no one was able to fix you up as you wished, how about the option of allocating the right soft key in the home screen to Google Maps?
This can be done using DiamonTweak, section 14 of that useful app.

Thanks...I guess the answer is I can create a shortcut but I can't get the old Manila2D page unless someone writes it.
So, I can map it to PTT, long press of Phone or the home soft key but I'll probably either keep it on the programs tab or add it to the internet tab to launch gmaps (following these instructions: http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=657).
My long and short press PTT's are already taken up, so it would be a huge help if someone could make this happen. I've seen others with custom tabs on the touch flo 3d, so I know its possible, I guess no one has got around to putting it together just yet.
From what I understand you'd have to cook it into the rom, I have no knowledge of this yet but give it some time.
Generalizing, I really thought it be sweet to add as many tabs to tf3d as you please, once my roommate returns from japan we may have to undertake this challenge.

Hello all. I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere...
I have tried the PTT feature on my Tilt and dont like it and have had it removed, but I cannot get rid of the PTT icon in the title bar. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? Even if I turn off the PTT it just goes to a solid blue circle but nothing I've tried have I been able to get rid of it.

Flash your phone with a different ROM. I don't recommend this but theoretically if you get a registry editor maybe you can delete the registry for push to talk and then you'd be fine. I"d probably look for a cab to do this. go to google.com and type in Dutty it should give you a link for a website and I may be slightly off but its like dutty lives in eu or something like that. Click on that link and he has a couple of cab files maybe he updated some new ones
Actually all you have to do is kill the PTT service. For a noobie, the easiest way is to DL the trial of the BEST utility S/W called SK Tools from SKKV Software. In that proggie you can kill the service & the assign the button to something useful using the standard button settings in Start\Settings\Buttons.

I have a better idea. Why don't you check out this thread chock-full-o applications for the Diamond. Scroll down and you'll find Google Maps and you may find other things that interest you as well. As the Diamond is very similar to the Touch Pro it should work. I got my iGo nav software up and running by reading a thread posted in the Diamond forum. So if you don't find what you're looking for over here, try over there. You may also want to try Windows Live Search. I believe the url is wls.live.com which you can download directly via your s...l...o...w... EDGE connection. Let us know how it works out.

Also, if you're trying to download from www.google.com/gmm, make sure you use pocket IE. if you go to that website using opera, it identifies itself as a desktop browser and hence you get the error.

If you haven't already then try doing this:
1) Run QuickGPS and download latest satellite data.
2) In Google Maps select Menu->Use GPS.
Be patient the first time, it will take longer than usual to acquire a signal the first time you use it. QuickGPS should help to acquire a signal faster. If you are having trouble then make sure you are outside or close to a window with a direct view of the sky to test it, but it will probably work in the interior of your home too.
Ok so I used Internet Explorer as suggested on the board and was able to load it with no problem.

So, I've installed Manilla to my tilt. It looks great, it flows very nicely, and on the surface, I don't seem to have any problems. But, I'm having problems.
In the People tab, I can't add People. I can click, it highlights, then nothing happens. This seems to be the problem for some of the other tabs too.
Email and text work great.
Internet started working once I downloaded Opera, which is now working well.
Camera is fine too.
The music tab gives me an error message every time. "Cannot play the file. The file is either corrupted or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play." This comes up, but I haven't tried to play anything, this happens everytime I accidentally click on this tab, which leads me to wondering if there's a way I can delete this tab.
The Weather tab doesn't work at all. I click menu, and add a location - nothing. I click add a location on the screen, and I get nothing.
Map Search works fine.
Settings - When I click on sync data, it takes me to the sync screen. When I click Communication, it takes me to the about screen. When I click Sounds, Wallpaper, or About, I get nothing.
Lastly, I have the same problem in Programs tab that I do in the People tab. I can't add any programs.

First of all which ROM are you using Manilla with?

Hello, I got HTC Pro for Christmas, and I'm learning to love it. A few questions since this seems like a very populated forum.
Its with Alltel btw. When I use the touch flo screen to get to the program window, the one with the buttons. I can only add so many. I found a way to make new buttons with "+" signs, but when I click on the plus it brings me to the program list and when I select a program it doesn't get made into a new button. How do I change this?
On a related note, it won't let me delete the alltel buttons (alltel store, etc). Anyway around this?

No. It's not a stupid question at all!, the only stupid was the Google's developer who decided that this feature was irrelevant for ordinary people! I suppose that you, as me, want to be able to identify a place on Google maps, and copy the coordinates to your Navigator software or to the contacts , or send them to a friend to meet...etc
The only way is to "flash back" to the early 2008.... Attached you will find and old Google Maps version. which is the last when you were able to mark a point of the screen as beginning or as end of a itinerary, and then you could see the latitude,longitude and copy them to the copy-board.
The only problem is that you can't have both Google maps versions working together on your device ( or, at least I don't know how do it).
Now, what I do is having both cabs available and install the desired one over the other every time that I need it (it takes just a few seconds)
If someone knows how to have both apps working together, it would be great to share it!

You have describe exact condition wat i am facing, Actually i was starting new thread Q, and i was directed to ur post. I am using Navigon, some time i want direction which is not included in Navigon, So wat is way to enter desired location?
Here i hav searched a way to get it, it is 2-3 step procedure, but till we get right solution one can use it.
First long press on google map on desired location, it will popup loading address
- press on address - select share this place
- it will ask many option to share select e.g. msg, now copy that link
- open browser n paste it
- It will ask to open with? select Browser
- Now in browser, search box contain Coordinates
PS : I noticed your locale set to UK, it wont show, but if select US, it showing..
