I don't like Google "cloud" sync - I don't want to share my contacts and calendar with Google.
I can't find any good syncML client for android, but I like Sony Ericsson synchronizations.
Here are 3 APKs from latest SE X10 2.3.3 firmware.
If you install only 2 first APKs - you'll get SyncML provider which one includes Contacts, Calendar and Bookmarks (!) sync. Third APK adds "Sony Ericsson Sync" provider.
If someone could help me with combining 3 APKs into one - please do it. I don't have such experience.
Tested on HTC Flyer - works just fine!
One drawback - some strings in parameters screen are dark on black background and hardly visible.

I use a very similar setup, but with polling instead of push email - I'm usually in front of a screen all day anyway.

Just a note but I use the oggsync mobile app. Googles app has you use outlook which I am trying to eliminate as a part of the process. Hopefully Google will come out with a mobile option for winmo.
Since I got my new ATRIX, I tried to get my calenders from Thunderbird (Ubuntu) working on my Android smartphone.
- Up to now I could not find any working solution for me. Even applications for Windows (running in a virtual machine) I tried. -
Please Help !
What I want to do ? Sounds very easy and probably the solution is the same for Linux, Windoz and Macintoy.
-> I have several calenders (private, office, visitors, ...) local (!) on my computer saved as ics files.
An example : file:///media/daten/.../Email/lightning/calendar/Privat.ics
These calendars I want to copy on my smartphone and to use them (import ?) in an calendar application. I do not want to use any cloud, google calender construction. Just copy (may be convert) and use. Even synchronisation is not necessary, because the changes mainly I do on my notebook. As I said sounds easy, but it seemed not to be easy.
I have no idea how the other Thunderbird users manage to use their local calendars on the smartphone. Or am I the last "not-cloud" user ;-)
I use the plugin "Zindus" to sync my adress book from thunderbird.
To sync the calendars, i have them setup on google and connect to them from thunderbird.
So you could import your calender .ics files into google kalendar, which will be synced to your device and to which you can connect TB also.
I use this...

maybe is the same old question
I need to sync my mac with android, and that's simple 'cause you might say: ok setup your account in ical, mail and address book and shut up!
BUT
I also need that all the datas are in synch with a Blackberry Bold 9900 too. And that's a matter because BB doesn't support sync with google. Mac can only write datas on a BB but not sync (one way).
I tried (please read paid and very disappointed) Missing sync and Syncmate.
The first one (missing sync) sync datas with it's own apps... it means is not sync with google and... their own apps are bloatware!!!!.
The second one (sync mate) sync what it wants means you setup for a special calendar and group of contacts and it syncs only a part of the full.
Any suggestions???
On my 9800 I can setup my gmail account and from there select to sync email/agenda/contacts.
And it just works.
Install "Google Sync" on your BB.

Open using your BB browser.

Have you contacted SyncMate Support team at support @ eltima.com for assistance?
BTW, iCal sync is offered at SyncMate Free edition, you do not have to purchase Expert edition (paid) to sync this data or to test SyncMate compatibility with your device. Anyway, SyncMate supports Android phones running Android 1.x, 2.x, 3.x and 4.x. BlackBerry phones support will be added soon.
Moved.

Up until recently I was using WiMo and was very happy with the SPB diary application. In Outlook calendar I have various events categories, both standard (e.g. birthdays) and non-standard (e.g. hearings, in my case), all denoted by different colour. SPB diary imported those categories automatically and allowed me to automatically assign colours to their text. Therefore I could automatically see with a quick glance all the important stuff. I' ve been looking for a simillar app in android but no luck yet. Best one I have found yet is Jorte but it's not the same thing as you need to "manualy" change the colour of each event as oppose to changing colour by importing the category from Outlook. Currently, all Outlook sync events come off as green in various apps, HTC calendar included, without the option to change the colour.
Anyone has any build something like what I am after or has any ideas? preferably without using Google sync. Too much clouding is bad for your health methinks

Hi,
I've installed a new custom rom on my ZTE987 device and there is no way to synchronize my google calendars with this application.
I've done it a lot with all my previous device but this app act as if it do not have the right to connect to my google account.
in parameter also, I can synchronize contacts, mails, etc. but there is no calendar (or agenda) synchronisation.
Do you have a solution ?
problem resolved by the installation of another google calendar application. (the blue one with 31 number on it). then calendar are correctly syncronized and the old calendar application (the green one) works.
Why is there 2 calendar application ? I don't know...
