ROM's do not include basebands.
These ROMs have already been posted.
However, if you could round up the basebands along with a reliable way to flash them (SmartFlash or NVflash), THAT would be a major contribution. As of now, there is no way to fully restore a G2X in XDA or modeco/com.

The problem with the 'stock' backups that have been posted is that they're not "stock" in a traditional sense.... they've been rooted/tweaked.
This thread, as the topic states, is for unmodified stock backups.
As a side note, you can fully restore your g2x using the kdz update tool, these backups are actually a product of that.

Try to be more specific, I have no idea what you mean when you say it 'dint work'.
The files posted are unmodified stock backups.. when used in conjunction with ClockworkMod Recovery it will restore your device to a factory state.

Please explain the steps you took to restore the backup, in addition if you could supply the MD5 for the zip V10F.zip file.
Be sure to unzip the file, the folder is there.
yea i figured that i made a rookie mistake and didnt unzip, its funny cuz i grabbed tga gunmans downloaded thru my phones browser, moved the rar over to clockworkmod/backup with andro zip , then unzipped it and restored, all without a pc, and here i am not even thinking to unzip slycog's file
Ok sorry but i just want to make sure of this... I flashed the 2.3.3 rom in this thread with clockwork, then i removed clockwork by flashing back to stock recovery.... so my phone is not rooted now right? i didn't have any errors when flashing the rom or removing clockwork... thanks, just need to be sure
I'm getting a MD5 mismatch when i try to restore v10f.. I did a full wipe........I went to mount and storage and format storage and thats how i got by my MD5 mismatch issue

The T-Mobile and LG versions are identical. The icons turning green when connected to Google servers is not working in the rom. Hopefully LG will fix it in future updates. I had the green icons on my Nexus One and really like that feature.

Looking for the stock AT&T update.zip file. I did search, but now luck. Thanks.

I just need the update.zip file. Thanks anyway.
No problem. That was the closest thing I could find. Best of luck with whatever you are doing.
Are you talking about the update.zip file to root your device? I have that.
No, the stock update.zip file. I am running stock and tried to run the restore and it said the file is missing. I was going to put it back on and try and run it again. I've been having trouble powering on. I can only power on if I have it plugged up.
AT&T is sending me a new phone, but I just wanted to try and restore it for giggles and also to make sure my data is gone.
??
there isnt a stock update.zip........
The phone says that update.zip cannot be found on the sd card when I try to restore. I'm running stock on it. It may be that its just fried. Once it boots up it seems to run ok. I just got the new one from AT&T and going to send the old one in in the morn. Just wanted to try one last fix because everything worked great the past few days, even the gps was working better. I guess I will see how the new one does.

i dont think anyone here has any idea what you are talking about.
the stock phone doesnt have an update.zip on it. reinstall packages in system recovery doesnt mean it reinstalls stuff you removed from the OS. it allows you to flash zip files created for things like clockwork mod recovery and rooting on the 2.1....

There is no update.zip for stock firmware. Reinstall package in recovery mode is for flashing ROM updates and other stuff. If you delete something from stock ROM or messed up, there is no way to get it back or restore other than flash the stock ROM via ODIN3 and load stock firmware file.

I think you're confused with the JH7 update.zip that DG releases. It is not a recovery package zip OP like to have. You have to install CWM in order to flash this zip file.
What the OP doesn't exist. For the Captivate there are two options unless a developer creates another one:
1)Odin One click to I897UCJF6
2)ZIP of th I897UCJH7 firmware
/thread
I would advise you use the ODIN 1 Click to resolve any issue your having. I made a video on how to do this in my video archive thread...

i am curious if there is a way to make a tar file of the stock ROM that we might be able to flash thru Odin if things go wrong? this is what i always did on the Epc 4G. so far CWM seems to be having problems with the sdcard... i have made nandroid backups, but out of curiosity i went to 'restore' and it said it couldn't mount the sd. maybe this will get fixed soon tho.

thanks man, that would be great. if I had stock I would love to walk thru that.... we gotta do it soon and get something going for this phone!
So after a bit of work I was able to decrypt the encrypted file from the fus.samsungmobile.com site. The result? The stock zip able to be flashed to your device to put it on UVKD1.
Mostly I did this because of people who may have problems with Kies Mini to update to UVKD1 (like I did, took forever to get drivers etc and kies to behave).
Again this is completely stock! Nothing done to it. I did use Kies Mini to apply this update automatically, but again it's the unencrypted zip that gets flashed to your phone.
As always, I'm not responsible for bricking your device etc. etc.
I imagine this can be used via ODIN to update your device, but again I haven't gone through this process.
As I have not tested this method personally, I cannot guarantee anything. Just wanted to provide the STOCK Zip without the encryption on it.
Anyone more knowledgeable about this please feel free to interject.

only thing I noticed was that the pattern lockscreen now has the emergency button at the bottom centered below the pattern. It's fairly smooth, seems like mostly bug fixes based on the release notes.
I'd really be curious to find out what the OTA url is for this, but not sure anyone here is going to get the OTA, cause we're probably all rooted or that and KC1 won't.
However, if anyone does wanna logcat and then get the OTA eventually that would be cool.

so did you get any luck with that rom?
how come when unzipping it the file name is kf1?
outgoing call log works thank god and wifi bars are strong a little diffrent than the first release
This is great news. Means that they are actively working on 2.3 and that the KF1 leak wasn't just an isolated thing.
Will flashing this (without the .pit) cause a data wipe? Anyway to load this up without losing data?

Ok. So which one of you is correct?
And what good is a backup without root ability to restore the backup?
Last time I asked about the wipe, a couple of people confidently said that using ODIN ALWAYS wipes data. I am pretty sure that I upgraded to the current stock ROM using ODIN without a wipe, plus have updated my Vibrant a few times via ODIN without a wipe.
So what's really correct here?

if we can root the kf1 then there is no stopping us from rooting the kf2
surprise surprise if you wanna kf2 root use the same method that was used when rooting kf1
there is a guide on it
Alright, after taking a look at the vibrant forums, i noticed that they have CWM3 flashable modems, so it must be possible.
I extracted the tar file of an EC05 Modem and of course, all that's inside is the .bin file. I extracted a modem from the vibrant's 'old' cwm3 flashable files. I also found a batch operation that makes update zip files flashable via cwm3. with some guesswork and a little luck, I created two EC05 Modems, the first is my attempt, and the second is with a few extra files that i think are responsible for modems installing via cwm exclusively. Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted on my success. (hopefully not brick) If all goes well, I want to create CWM Flashables of all of our modems. wish me luck.
Edit: No dice with the ones I made.. Still looking for a way.
This would make it a lot easier to switch modems. Hopefully you can figure it out and not brick your phone! Thanks.

The thoughts were to actually flash a modem you needed source. When EC05 first came out some ROMs would update your modem from DK28 or EB13. This why all the leaked ROMs had to be Odin'd. It would be awesome if you found a method that worked on the Epic for those who can't get their phone to connect on the computer.
I just want to say Good Luck, and we're all counting on you!

I found a cwm deodexed eg22 zip on my desktop. Its setup slightly different from Deca's deodex cwm or other cwm roms I've seen. Its very blunt and straightforward with eg22 modem bin in it. I thought if there was a way to eliminate factoryfs with the flash still going through, it'd be around 30mb cwm flash, however I do not kno what is dispensable in the files. I'm thinking dummy files or somehow omitting most of the flash except the modem?
You should be able to delete all but the modem and the flash script right? Did not know there was any ROM that successfully flashed a GB modem.

They wrote the software that applies the delta, as well as the software that generates the delta... It's their proprietary format, do they have all of the specs because they created them...
Edit: to be accurate, I can't say they wrote every piece of the delta system (I don't know everything, trying not to come across like I think I do, lol). But they have components we don't, that they haven't shown an interest in releasing
