Slimmest case - Fascinate Accessories

So I was wondering what the slimmest case for fascinate might be. I have already had two of the cases that were talked about in another thread but they were both clunky and fat :/. I don't really care about protection and the only reason I even want a case is because I don't like the feeling of the fascinate's plasticity feeling back.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049200

-how much is that.?

Casemate barely there wins.. Buy it.

If you like protecting your $4 dollar battery door that is a perfect investment.

I highly recommend the Incipio Feather http://www.myincipio.com/Samsung-Fascinate-Cases-Accessories/Incipio-Samsung-Fascinate-feather-Ultralight-Hard-Shell-Case.asp
It's a bit expensive at $25, but it has that soft matte rubber feel to it, which I love. Also, it's very easy to take on and off and adds hardly any weight or thickness.
The main reason I got this case was because of the feel of it, combined with the protection it gave to the camera lens.

Love my Casemate case.

Another vote for the Incipio. I like the fact that it really doesn't add any bulk to our THIN phones. Of course as with any thin case don't drop it on a tile floor.

Love mine as well. Dropped it several times on concrete so far and the phone is healthy plus the case is barely damaged. It is doing its job and barely noticeable on the phone.

I know it isn't what you want, but if you ever are looking for protection my Seidio Innocase Active X has been amazing, it adds some bulk but looks great and I got used to the size easily. I'm comfortable with throwing the phone at friends to let them use it, and I don't even worry when I drop it on tile/concrete/anything. It's awesome.

our phones r crazy, ive dropped it so many times on concrete rocks asphault and no chips/ cracks / dents

Case-mate, good?

I found this case to be interesting, anyone got experience with it? Is it worth the price?

From what I've read its one of the best cases you can buy, I don't use it because it makes your phone as big as a HTC G1/Dream. I do use the Case-mate Barely There chrome snap-on case and from what I have personally found out is that they make the highest quality cases that I have bought for my Nexus One.

Sent from my Nexus One
I have it, I'm using it. I love it It's absolutely the best you can buy with the price, free shipping, good customer service. IMO, It doesn't significantly make your phone bigger or bulkier. It feels like a solid rock
I use this case as well as the new Otterbox Commuter case and they are both very good quality cases. I believe that the Otterbox offers a little more protection and feels better and is easier to pull out of your pocket but all in all, this is a good sturdy case! I do like the fact that you have different color options whereas the Otterbox does not yet...
Thanks for the reply guys!
I also like the chrome one here: http://www.case-mate.com/Google-Cases/Case-Mate-Google-Nexus-One-Barely-There-Cases.asp
It looks nice and less expensive, might get that instead.
I just got the Tough Case like 3 days ago. It is amazing! I don't think it makes the the phone that much larger, I actually like the texture and sturdiness of the case, its pretty smooth.
Had mine just over a week, love it. Good fit, good feel, free decent screen protector.

Tough Case, if you do a quick search I've put up a picture of my pink/black one.
case mate Tough Case is the best so far. i have two buddy's at work and they have different ones that cost them about 8 bucks ,and they ask me were to get it and i told them . ever since i had it i don't have any problem and trust me i recommended to every one...
I was in the market for some cases too for my wife who tends to just sort of abuse her phone (just throws the phone in her purse and cup holders) so I decided to get the tough case for both our phones and glad I did...its solid and well made. The holes match up perfectly and the silicone and abs are snug to each other.
Photos are Pink/Black and Black/Gray
Just ordered this case off of Case-Mate

I have a casemate gelli, it's pretty awesome. Very snug, minimal bulk, and looks great. Sure not as much protection as some other cases, but certainly increases the drop protection.

Well it should be here in a couple of days. I really need to get a case on my N1! And I like the added feature of the card holder, in this day and age all you need is a 20. Dollar bill I'd and debit/ credit card

Looks good. I prefer innocase 2 by seidio. Very happy with mine and well worth the money IMHO. it looks more streamline than the pics ive seen on this thread.
The problem with the barely there case is the lack of protection on the bottom and top of the phone. That is where I got 90% of the scratches on my g1.
(see below)
i have the Barely There Case
for my N1
and i love it
especially because i wear skinny jeans and it fits on my front pocket perfectly
lol
all other cases made the N1 feel like i was still trying to rape my pocket with my old myTouch lol

Is there good case without the corner cut out?

I really want a Ringke case but that cut out really urks me. I know why they have it and I know most of them have it. Any good cases without it that are like ringke or at least in the same price range?
The G2x Bodyglove Grasp case is really really nice. They used to have em at walmart (mentioning that makes it seem like a cheap case, but ignore that because it isnt), but they seem to have stopped carrying recently.
Try looking for it online

I can always return it, its not a big deal. I couldn't find much on the case on the web and YouTube. What material is it and does it collect dust and are the power and volume buttons still responsive with it on? All the TPU cases I tried they were hard for me to use the buttons.
It's hard to explain, but the buttons are made with another material so it's very comfortable to push the buttons. It feels better than without a case actually. Ill see if i can take a picture for you

I bought this case the day I bought my phone, about two months ago. It's literally the best case I've had for any device. It isn't a hard case so it feels flexible in the hand. But it isn't a gel case, either, and feels sturdy enough to withstand. I recommend this case for sure. 9/10.

It's a weird polymer material. I've never felt another case like this one. The buttons are as easy to press as the phone naked. If its like $7 as the link said, I'd pick it up. I spent $14 on mine at WalMart and would gladly do it again.
hmm...I just ordered like 2 other $2-3 ones from ebay to test them out (literally yesterday or the day before - haven't even gotten them yet), but as soon as I saw this thread and the pictures, I bought it. lol
Cool :] Hopefully you like it as much as I do
I just got a Seidio Surface case from Amazon and it's by far the best case I have had for the G2x so far. I have a Trident Aegis case, which to me adds way too much bulk, but this one actually makes it nice to hold.

Yeah that case looks nice. I like the ringke case, I have come to just accept the corner cut out, still urks me but I'm over it. Its probably the best case I have owned, but with that said, it still has flaws. The sides are loose, and I'm really glad the case doesn't collect dust and lint but the camera lens which is exposed collects A LOT. as well as the corners of the screen

It is the same "soft touch" as the battery door, but over the entire case, and is lined with felt.

Ignore my ignorance but, why are the corners cut out on all the cases?
because theyre made for the O2X and the antenna for that phone is where the cutout is
Here are a few pics of the case I just got (At the mall) I'm not sure what brand but it fits nice and makes my phone feel better, at least to me. This was an O2x case (Corner cut out) but I don't think it looks bad.

[Q] Would You Recommend a Good Case?

My wife tends to drop her phone, throw it in her bag with the keys....
Any recommendation for a super-case? One that would survive a fall?
The Trident Aegis case is always a safe bet. Its pretty thick and is made out of a nice rubber material that feels good to hold.
I have been using the Speck Candyshell case ever since i got my g2x a long while back, and i love it. The only problems it has is that it can gett pretty scratched up on the back and the rubber flakes off after a lot of use. Other than that it is a really good case and has survived many a fall in its day.
Here are the links to both of them on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Trident-Case-...ILYU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1329699911&sr=8-2
http://www.amazon.com/Speck-CandySh..._1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1329699968&sr=1-1
(They both come in other colors too)
I'd check the accessories section.
I don't know much about the case, but check here for a start. Looks like it should be more than sufficient.
Edit: yea, it took me a bit to get to posting, but like the previous person said, Trident Ageis, or the kraken series should be good.
Thank you both !!!!
I don't know if it's necessarily a super case, I use a rubber one from ringke. I like it, but maybe it's not thick enough to cover massively damaging falls/bumps.

I have the Trident AEGIS for my G2X and my Galaxy S2X. They are great and I highly recomend them.
I like my Seidio case, although it makes others cry due to scratches on the corners it may cause, I could care less...
Depends on what kind of protection you want. I use a simple TPU case, doesn't add bulk and adds protection, and was dirt cheap. I rarely drop my phone, if I do it's no higher than 4-5 ft. But if you want a case that withstands 12+ feet then I guess the Trident, but that case is expensive and adds soooo much bulk. So it's up to you.

Found some pretty good cases at a cheap price.....

Have a couple of these for my phone. They actually work very well and fit nicely. My phone came with one and I decided to buy another. Nice thig is the more you buy the more color combinations you can come up with. Here are a few pictures. To fin just type (Samsung i727 hybrid) into ebay and search through all the different colors. Not bad for under $10

Cool idea mixing n matching. My girl has one of these on her skyrocket. Good case indeed for the price.
I've seen them, but didn't give them too much thought because they seemed "cheap" in the sense of net being very good. Thanks for the real world update! :good:
I have been looking around for a good case, i had the otter box and its a great case but hard to get in and out of your pocket..... does the rubber on this case make it dificult to slide in and out of your pocket?
I recommend everyone take a look at the Ballistic Case line. I haven't found anything with this much protection. Check the Nexus S variant on Amazon for awesome reviews. TPU backing makes sliding in and out of your pocket a breeze.
The rubber corners that go a bit in front of the screen are without a doubt the best protection I've ever come across. No worries at all about any future drops, the extra few mm of bulk are worth it without a doubt.

I havent found any issues at all going in and out of my pocket. Being the skyrocket is very light (compared to my htc vivid) i would think that drops with this case would be more than effective at protecting it. This combined with a good screen guard is pretty good. Once and a while if you take your phone out of your pocket quickly you will notice the rubber on one of the corners might start to come off but it happens very rarely and its easy to pop the phone back in. I never liked the silicone cases but with this having the solid support that wraps around on all 4 sides it works very well. It also protects to hard keys on the sides and both the charging port and headphone jack. I like it better than the speck case i had for my vivid.
I am very anal about what I buy to protect my devices and I am inpressed with these. I will be buying one every payday until I have all the different colors that I want. I think I paid 7.99 with free shipping and had it here in 3 buisness days. Don't get me wrong though if you are very tough on your phone then I would recommend the Otter Box, Speck Candy shell or the Casemate Tough Series. But for most people these are more than satisfactory. Th rubber on the corners are pretty tough like that of the balistic cases. The case is just thick enough to keep the sensitive homekeys on the bottom from touching your face during a call.

I heavily disagree about Ballistic brand cases being easy to take in and out of pockets....my gf has one for her I727 and it's impossible to take in and out of pockets, puraes, etc.
That being said, that case has survived quite a few nasty falls. The protection is the best I've seen.

Perhaps. The in/out of pocket is really a relative opinion unfortunately since some consider any resistance a huge annoyance. I can see the corners being an issue though, especially if you like to keep the phone in front Jean pockets.

To be honest I'm not sure which will fit. I had the otter box and the pt case combo for my inspire and I didn't like either one. Just gets in my way a lot. I like having it in my pocket anyways. Is there a built-in screen protector on any of these cases? Some of the descriptions are unclear, and a built-in would be nice. Having to adhere one to the screen makes my Otterbox Defender unusable, as it would peel the protector off every time.
My mom bought one of these off ebay for her Galaxy S2 and she really liked it. I was considering one for my Skyrocket, but I ended up getting a standard silicone case. I've always had problems with my phone sticking in my pocket. This hybrid case was easier to get in and out of pockets but the rubber parts on the corner did stick a little. After a couple of months, though, I noticed that the plastic part of this hybrid case had cracked in several areas. I'm not sure how it got cracked, because she hasn't dropped the phone or anything. If anyone is interested I can try to post pictures, assuming I can find where she put the damaged case.
I'd definitely be interested in seeing that. I took my Defender off last night (found it was causing some heat issues with ICS) and put a Zagg screen protector on, which more or less rules out the possibility of using the Defender again. I'm torn between one of the other Otterbox cases or a handful of these.
I have this cheapo http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-Kicks...423428?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a1fef9d04
very similar type of design with the built-in kickstand. Personally the rubber hasn't given me any issues.
FYI, you can find virtually all of these cases on Amazon for less (including shipping) than eBay. Just search "i727 hybrid". If you're planning to mix and match, keep an eye on the manufacturers. Mybat and Case-Xpro seem to be the same company (or, at least, identical designs), but Dragoncell, which makes the cases shown in the OP, uses a different size of plastic mesh than Mybat/Case-Xpro do.
I'm going to order one Dragoncell, one Mybat and one Case-Xpro and see how much I like each. I'll post results here. I mean, $25 for 3 cases (incl. shipping) isn't much to complain about.

Ballistic SG0875 case review (PICS)

I am a new member to XDA, so I decided to do a review for this case that I recently bought. It is the Ballistic SG0875 case from amazon
At first, I was reluctant to buy this case because I knew it would add quite a bit of bulk. But I did not want to compromise my protection. I bought it for 18 dollars with amazon prime I got it within 2 days.
Weight: With the HTC One S inside it felt the same weight as my old HTC sensation, so I wasn't too disapointed. But the size is a lot bigger than the One S.
I have taken some pictures with my sensation for you guys to see what I am talking about. For the first couple of days, I just wanted to take the case off and enjoy the sleekness of the One S, but I resisted and now It doesn't matter anymore.
Protection: I have dropped my phone once after I got the case. About 4 ft drop onto a wood floor. Thankfully nothing happened. So far The protection has been great and I feel it could save your phone for some serious drops.
Look and Feel: The case feels bad at first in your hands but you eventually get used to it and the poly carbonate actually feels good. The gel part of the case makes it hard to pull out of pockets quick because t grips onto your cloth. Can be a good thing to prevent careless drops from pocket. It does collect a bit of lint but, not too much. I usually just blow on it once and the lint goes away.
Overall: For the price point I think this is the best case available for protection, so If you are on a budget after spending about 450 dollars on the phone you can pick this case up to keep your investment safe for cheaper than others. I would definitely recommend this case. I haven't tried any other cases so I can't give my opinion about them. Images were too big to embed.

Looks good man, sharp looking case. Little too bulky for my taste but if you don't mind the thickness, I'm sure it protects the hell out of the phone.
I just use a Zagg full body shield and an Incipio ultra-thin case. Keeps it super thin looking still, albeit not as well protected as yours.

I agree, but it protects it pretty well man. you have to compromise something to get something else.
I don't think those pictures do it justice.
I just got mine a couple days ago as well. And i must say it does not look too bad.
A lot cheaper than Otterbox, but still feels like a good product. I like how it feels in your hands, adding more grip to it.
Moreover, the bulk is not really noticeable since the One S is already such a slim design.
Just my two cents.
Oh and it was only $18 with 2 day shipping such as OP stated
Love mine!
I love mine too, ur pics do it no justice(dont get me wrong), ima see if i can post some up. This is one of the best as far as protection from drops to concrete.
Yes it does add bulk, but its a great protector.
Scale 1-10; 1 sucks, and 10 being awesome.
Looks 8
Protection 10
weight 5
In and out of pocket 7
Value 9
Quality 9(i dont think the plastic will break easily even from many drops and the silicon is very durable)
I know it doesn't do justice because the one s is really slim lol. I've been using this case for about 2 months and it has saved my baby from a bunch of drops and its really not that heavy or bulky. You will lose the sleekness of one s but the protection is unbelievable for the price point. You could get the diztronic tpu case for the days you really want to go slim. Diztrnic did very well with their tpu case. Its well worth the 10 bucks
