[Downanimation] HTC CRT - HTC Sensation

Here's my contribution to the animation craze. Sorry about the size of the zip (over 5MB) but the CRT animation took large images. Enjoy!
*Special thanks goes to mexxxico & edint3000/preacher65 for the original images I edited to make this animation!

sorry about the giant preview, lol

Looks quite nice. Im definitely waiting for this. I currently have the Blue w/ Dark Blue Background HTC quietly brilliant as my bootanimation. Do you think you could make a downanimation with those colors later on? But as soon as this one is ready I will definitely put it to use

WOW! Love it! Thanks

If anyone else has trouble downloading let me know and I'll find somewhere else to host it.

It aborts installation for me

Somehow I couldn't download using Firefox. Downloaded it fine using IE.

For those having download issues:
On windows - right click on download link and save link
On phone - long press on download link and save link
On mac - control + mouse click on download link and save link
Xda seems to be having issues with their attachment service, hence the maintenance tonight. Sorry guys, but the above should work for ya.

Nice, thank you!

Did you compress the .zip file instead of store ? Just wondering because it
isnt working .

I too have tried all methods and can't get this to work either.

For bootanimation.zip, I put it in /data/local for it to work.
For downanimation.zip, I put it in /system/customize/resource for it to work.

I use root explorer to copy and paste it into system/media
I take it you are doing it the adb way. Haven't used that in forever.
I would recommend trying root explorer (dont know if 15min trail is already in effect)
If you use it dont forget to mount R/W prior to pasting to allow you to overwrite
Also im using CM 6.1 but it should work with most roms

You can download it from the market its not free but worth the money. Put the bootanimation.zip file on your sd then with root explorer simply copy paste it to system/media make sure mount r/w is on at the top right.
This isn't intended to be flashed via recovery

Greatly appreciated ..

To extend it you would need either more frames or to lower the frames per sec in the txt which would make it slower. Open the txt and you can lower the framerate from there. I think its set to 20 or 15 currently
I made these for my HTC Desire HD but they might work on the Nexus One as Well
I made these 2 boot animations based on the Co-op loading screens on Portal 2. Yes the files are large but I think they look pretty good. You can use root explorer to replace your existing one or do it via ADB but don’t ask how never have done it via ADB.
You are welcome to mod them as you see fit but.

here try this use root explorer(if you dont have it you can get it in the market) to put in correct place(depends on the rom you are running(*)?
store on root of SD card
open root explorer make sure to make R/W
go to SDCard and copy file
navigate to bootanimation path (*)
rename bootanimation.zip to something else (bootanimation1.zip)
paste file and rename bootanimation.zip to match what the old one was if necessary
exit root explorer
reboot phone

from what i can see that rom isn't set up for sound. but i can make it where it can.
Not sure if your rom supports audio but on my rom, the location for audio is the same as that of the bootanimation (/data/local/).
It should be named android_audio.mp3 and as for permissions:
Owner: check only read and write
Group: check only read
Others: check only read

no reflashing, just renaming a file and moving the new to that folder using root explorer(or es file explorer) the you just add the mp3 to same folder you put bootanimation in and reboot.

BTW, I wonder if there is already bootanimation file in system/media, will it be overwritten?
I thought it did, but I'm not 100% sure about it. You'll have to test it Otherwise the script can be modified with a simple, single command to correct it .

Copy both files to system/app and give them the same permissions as the other files in that folder.
Do the same with the attached files (LG Home selector).
Reboot the phone and it will ask you what home app to use.
Afterwards, you can delete the apk of your current Home app.
