CWM now supported! - HTC Sensation

CWM released an update that works and flashes CW now on our rooted Sensations. Get ROM manager from market. If you already have it make sure you update.

Yup,just updated to 4.0.15. No more blue, oh well.
Sent from my Dell Streak 7

download so slow
edit. nm. 500 connected peers...
EDIT: yeah I actually prefer the orange over the blue not only for readability but it matches my other CM7 devices!

What was wrong with the blue one? Seemed to work fine.

This one is official from Koush, so if there is an update available we will be notified. Plus, and more importantly, now all the functions of Rom manager work where they didn't before.

Is power off charging fixed?
Sent from my duo core monster.

Yes!! Charging is fixed! Now I don't have to worry about gaming fully draining the battery!
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App

Awesome, now we just have to wait for custom ROMS for Sensation to start appearing in ROM Manager

Noob question, but what is this all for? Should I be concerned to go out of my way to install this?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App

thanks to Koush for good recovery

downloaded ROM Manager, went to do the usual backup. rebooted, started to do the normal progress bar and then the phone just shut down. had to pull the battery to get it to start up again.
according to my phone, i'm running 4.3.3.0. is that correct?

4.0.1.5 is the version of Clockwork Recovery (CW)
4.0.3.3 is the version of Rom Manager App (RM)
this updated RM installs updated CW, which (maybe among other things) fixes the battery charging bug and is also supported by the RM

NICE ))) just updated.

Just updated too, everything seems, ok! cool =)

My ROM Manager is still showing Glacier ROMs and recovery. I installed fresh from the Market, but I am using the same SD card. Do I need to delete something here?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G

I recommend deleting your clockwork mod folder if coming from another device. Rom Manager and CWR will make a new one that matches your device.

Ah, manual override fixed it!
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G

Hi,
I noticed one issue, when doing a nandroid backup the progress bar shows nothing. It is still black. Maybe we have to wait for another update.
Where can issues be reported to the CWM Dev?
Cu

Just flashed it and it worked perfectly! Charging when completely off - fantastic!

I got rom manager where is the update for recovery
Ok my recovery before was purple and so tiny writing I had to take the phone close to my eyes to see the writings also it would show the list twice side by side.
After updating the writing gone big readable now and its orange.

Works fine after reboot. After applying with MetaMorph the screen went blank so I had to pull the battery. Don't know if that was a problem with MetaMorph or your mod but it works now. Thanks!
Works great on CrystalPyramid rom. Sensation TMOUS.
I flashed cystral pryamid and his overglow and honey comb battery meter after that metamorph glows do not work
Will this work with a Rooted Stock Rom? Just curious..
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
It should because all the current roms are almost stock anyways heh...but do a nandroid backup prior to doing this.
Everytime I use metamorph (first time on the Sensation) it goes black screen and I always have to do a battery pull to reboot.
Works great on Baadnws 2.3.4 rom. Sensation 4G TMOUS.
Thanks OP
Not working on rooted stock TMOUS. Metamorph gives me an error message about not enough space in /system. How much space is needed? I have 128 megs free.

[FIX]Problems with you phone? - Battery pull necessary?

Hey, Im here today to give my 2 centavos ( YOU GUYS KNOW THE DISCLAIMER... ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE IS NOT MY FAULT BLAH BLAH BLAH... LOL?)
Ive been reading some threads in the Development section about how people (users) are experiencing some problems with their phones performance.
I myself experienced these problems, such as black screen, phone lag and one of the most annoying of them all is everytime i pressed the Home button it would take a ScreenShot.
If you are having any of these problems i would suggest you do as i did and flash this CWM Recovery version ----> ** http://www.multiupload.com/UCJYHKQH23 ** (Instruction on how to flash BELOW)
(*) Its version 4.0.1.4 (Its been updated so now your phone should charge even when turned OFF) (*)
Version 4.0.1.4 messes with CPU Clock... More info on this thread ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204102
To flash CWM Recovery 4.0.1.4:
1. Download the PG58IMG.zip and place it on the ROOT of your SDCARD (You should know how to do this)
2. Boot your phone into its BootLoader and after the Sd check it should ask you if you want to update, Push Vol. UP button to respond yes.
3. After it updates push the POWER button to reboot your device
4. DONE
I flashed a new Rom right after this, so I dont know if this fixes the problems with whatever rom you are currently in. (My guess would be YES? but not sure )
Why was this thread moved to Q's and A's?
You may want to remove or rephrase the statement about 4.0.1.5 messing with the CPU clock. There has been no credible statements or evidence that the recovery image is or can cause such an issue.

It did for me, after flashing 4.0.1.4 again my problems were fixed, I had a lot of problems with 4.0.1.5
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
He old 4.0.1.4 was bad for me because it never charged while my phone was off. So I flashed to 4.0.1.5 but it kept messing with my CPU speeds. So i.update it to the new 4.0.1.4 and the two errors are fixed. I'm.pretty sure its like that for most people

I think the CPU clock "issue" is very misunderstood. The idea that a recovery image could cause (or fix) an issue like this is VERY unlikely.

What problems were you having before flashing 4.0.1.4?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
For me, flashing .4 allowed me to charge with pone off, but the led wouldnt light and I had to do a battery pull to reboot. Flashing .5 solved both the above issues. I believe this is a case by case basis and that either one or the other will work.
Matt
It's accepted that the charging while OFF issue can be caused/fixed by the recovery image. What I'm having an issue with is the idea that the recovery image could possibly cause an issue with the CPU clock while the phone is RUNNING. Unless I completely misunderstand how these things work, its simply not possible for the recovery image to cause that. Nothing from recovery is loaded when the OS is fully booted, so I'm having a hard time believing that there's a connection.

Updated op r u rooted?
.... e3Dvo ...
Root, CWM 4.0.0.9, and have already flashed various things.
I'll do a restore to my CWM backup I made which was done right after Root/busybox install.
I did a factory reset to my phone just prior to installing CWM and rooting the phone, so that CWM backup is as fresh as it gets after root.

Does not work with 3.0.3 with dual core add-on. Well let me elaborate, it does indeed give the main submenu for settings and ringtones a black overlay as pictured in first post but it breaks the advanced quick settings tab and makes apps like internet browser and astro file manager unable to load. I continuously get a pop-up stating defaults need to be reset.
I tried to get some screen shots for you but when I went to the root of my device to edit the build.prop to enable screenshots and noticed I no longer had one after flashing this mod LOL. I'll see what I can do later tonight to get you some screens.

Dual Boot ROMs!

http://lifehacker.com/5826050/how-to-dual-boot-multiple-roms-on-your-android-phone
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.drx2.bootmanager&hl=en
Wow, never knew it was possible! We can actually use more than one ROM at a time! This is faster and better than NANDroid restores! IT makes a copy of the ROM on your SD card, you can have up to 5!
SO you can simply switch back and forth using it as a normal ROM without having to do backups/wipe between switching!
it creates a partition on the SD card for the ROM(s). booting etc, is as simple is normal etc
Our Device is officially supported! Anyone tried it yet?

Wow was thinking about this, since I am dual booting Windows and Ubuntu on my laptop. But never thought it is implemented for our phones. Thanks for the info!
Have been using it for some time now, works great with CM7 roms, MIUI works good too but never boots back to the main ROM from MIUI, have to always flash the boot image saved by boot manager via recovery to come back. Tried sense roms during the early stages, had problems, but that was version 1, haven't tried sense roms lately.
Have reaper setup on SD, haven't used it though as a daily ROM.
Good way to preview a ROM without actually wiping anything.

Encountered it a while back in 2011 when envy became an issue (CWM mods natively multiboot on my wife's SE X8). Too many issues with my favorite ROMs (Virtuous & MIUI) made it a no-go for me. Nice to know there's renewed interest in it. Especially from a champ like you. Does that mean we'll see more ROMs with native support for multiboot (had to mod some ROMs on the X8 to make them work)?
Will try soon
i will try this app as soon as i can Looking forward to it! Now i just have to downgrade HBOOT...

What is the best recovery we have ?

Hi I'm using CMW currently and I don't think It's fully setup for our phone and the issue I'm having I can't charge my phone with the power off when I try to the phone powers on when I plug it in and boots to recovery by itself. I tried koush cmw and I'm currently using mondaco cmw I think It's called same issue with both it also just feels like there isn't enough options.
I just download goomanager from the play market and I'm thinking of trying TWRP I read that the back ups between twrp and cmw aren't compatible so I'll just make an extra back up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

TWRP is good, very nice features! BUT : It is not compatible with Aroma for now, so, as many packages (applications, some ROMs...) uses it, I went back to Touch CWM (5.8.3.1) for compatibility reasons, which is also a very good and "standard" flavor.
It works with Aroma now, I used it with the TweakMachine

Flashing roms without needing to fast boot the img is awesome. The look is awesome, themes are cool. All the extra features like built in file manager, great!

I was also having the issue of not being able to charge while the phone was off without it booting into recovery. I seemed to have "fixed" the problem by turning on Fast Boot in the Power settings menu.
I may try TWRP, since it seemed like CWM always had one issue or another on my old HTC Evo, and this charging issue isn't a big thing but isn't helping me trust it
I'm using the classic non-touch cwm. I had issues restoring nandroid's with twrp so switched to cwm, which i had been using happily on my previous phones.
