yeah same issue here. have to unplug then plug back in so that the other person can hear me.

I have had this problem too but it was because I didn't get the headset plugged in all the way. It is harder to plug in than other headsets I've had in the past.

Yea I had this problem all the time till one day I pushed it all the way down. Its got a lock pin on it and you gotta push it down all the way till it clicks.

Headphones jack not working?

A little pissed that no headphone plus came with the phone, si I haven't tested, however it appears that my car audio input it not working on the g2x I can hear the caller, but they can't hear me has anyone tested phone calls using ear plugs?
When I plug into my car input, the external phone mic appears to be turned off and I can hear callers, but they can't hear me.
On my vibrant, I use my car speakers to listen and the phone mic to talk
Is there a way to keep the phone mic on when the jack is plugged in?
when using the head phones on my phone it still sends the audio to the speaker. The phone recognizes that something is plugged in but it still plays through the speaker on the phone. My guess it's a software bug. Can anyone confirm?

Skullcandy 50/50 Mic Problem

I just bought the skullcandy 50/50 headphones, the mic doesn't seem to work with the thunderbolt, if I pull it half way out the mic works but no sounds from the headphones, so are the pins in the wrong places? it's odd because I have and old pair of apple headphones for the first iPhone mic works with. Anyone know which headphones work with the thunderbolt with built in mic? Thanks.
I'm not sure if there is a list, but I have a pair of BeatsbyDre Studio's and everything works fine.

I have Skullcandy, FMJ's and they usually work well. From time to time I have your problem. But if I unplug and replug it works again.

It might be because they are iPod / iPhone only. says so on the packaging. I believe they have a slightly different plug that has an extra piece for transmission of the play/pause/skip buttons.
I don't think they will ever work for a thunderbolt... might want to return them. I have a Bose pair that works flawlessly, also the standard skullcandy headsets will work fine.

Ok thanks guys.

External speaker

I'm currently running cm7 1.5.2, whenever I plug in this external speaker I have it's super quite (media volume all the way up). It sounds fine on my I pod so I know it's not the speaker.. I think my problem is that the phone sees it as headphones thus making it a little bit more quite when in reality I want it louder.. Anyone know of a fix or workaround?

I had a similar issue when using my TB with either an external speaker or a cassette adapter. I think my problem was that the TB thought it had a headset/mic combo plugged in and tried to use the external speaker as a mic also...
I bought this device (a TRRS splitter) which separates the mic and speaker into two 3.5mm female aux ports and plug my speaker/cassette adapter into one of the ports (green). Works great.

Hope that helps.

Auxiliary port

When I try to plug my dads charge into his car stereo using the auxiliary port, and he makes a call no one can hear him but we can hear the person he calls.... Anyone know what might cause this??
As in you (the people in the car) can hear the other person on the line, but not the other way around? Happens to everyone with this phone-if the device (in this case the car) you're connecting to doesn't have a mic then you're screwed - the charge doesn't allow you to use the integrated mic.

It works for me. Just tested it. Plugged it into the car and I could hear them over the car speakers and they could hear me and I had the phone in the cup holder.

Not sure. Maybe the microphone on the phone is being blocked. Does the speakerphone function work properly when it's not plugged into the car?
Yeah the speaker phone part works, but it's a 2009 corolla car... I didn't know if there's a setting in the charge
Maybe the phone recognizes the car aux port as a speaker / mic combo instead of just a speaker.

Try using regular headphones on the phone and see if the other person can hear you. If it does work then you will probably just need to use a different cable to plug into the car.

Actually I have no problems doing that. I tested it once and it worked fine for me. I had the phone in my lap making shure the phone mic was not covered. Just had to speek a bit lauder. The max distance from face to mic in phone should not b more than 1.5ft. At 2ft you would need to yel to b heard. At least that was my expirience.

Help with sound

My problem is that as of today when I plug my headphones into my phone (I do get the headphone icon at the top) then I go play music or anything and it comes out the built in speaker.
Anyone help me with this, I lightly cleaned the Jack thinking that was the problem but no and the phone sees the headphones.
