Delivery reports for SMS - T-Mobile LG G2x

Does the G2x give Delivery reports for SMS?

not sure about the stock sms, but i use sms pro its an awesome sms/mms app and i know for sure that it has that feature , y dont u go into your stock messaging app then hit your menu, then hit settings, and it should be in there

if you use my tweaked build it has the cm7 mms app that will let you do that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158513

Yup!
Just go into settings and then turn on delivery reports or SMS or optionally MMS and also read reports for MMS although I've never gotten a read report.

So you were able to remove the stock SMS app completely and use Chomp as a replacement to send and receive pictures?

[Q] MIUI MMS Issue

Does anyone know why my miui mms messages initially arrive as separate obscure numbers? Once they download, I can go back in and they're listed under the actual contacts as they should be. While downloading, the mms message door one contact shows up separately as the number 1. The mms message for another contact shows up as 1110031011... like I said, once they download the actual picture fits where it goes but I get a little apprehensive selecting yes to authorize a mms download from "1".

Darn.. Guess no one has seen this issue.........
I haven't had this problem before and I'm not a developer either so I can't really help out directly.
Did you already check the MIUI Q&A thread that JordanElliot posted on the MIUI thread in development?

I have been running MIUI weekly builds for a while now and have never had that problem..
what Modem are you using?
maybe try wiping data and dalvik cache and reinstall the ROM

What messaging program do you use?

I'm just curious what messaging program everyone uses?
I have used many of them and only one now has the functionality (that I have found) to deal with iPhone group text messages, Handcent 4.0. Once a week my family or friends will send out a group message and people with iPhones will all respond and it will come through as the same thread for people on the iPhones; however as an adroid user any responses will come back individually. This can get really annoying when there are 20 people responding and only 10 of them I have contact data for.
This problem has been reported to Google here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=24468.
I love Handcent. I've been using it for quite some time now. It works great out-of-the-box so I've set it up on my parents' and grandparents' phones; additionally, it sports extensive customization options. Also, it can replace the default Android ringtone/notification selector, which is horrid.
I use ChompSMS. I got really used to BiteSMS on my old iPhone, and Chomp just feels right
ChompSMS here. No complaints. Tried gandcent but didn't think it was as good as chomp

GO SMS Pro always. I tried Handcent but it's so unpleasant, aesthetically.

What'sApp and google voice using a google number (I refuse to pay for texts)... But I'm not sure either of these two can do group messaging, though.
Gosms!

After reading this post I installed handcent hoping if I sent a group text, the responses would arrive back in the same thread as the group text sent. Unfortunately handcent does not appear to be capable of that, unless there is an option I forgot to set.
Does anyone know of an SMS app which can support return texts for groups going back to the same thread, as opposed to separate responses coming back to multiple thread?
I love chomp and find that this is the only feature missing from it, which would make it otherwise perfect.

Menu>Settings> Application Settings
You have to set handcent at your default and then at the bottom of the settings there is a check box to "Thread group conversations"
Awesome. Thanks you.
Does anyone know if chomp has this feature too?

Maybe I'm blind. i'm on Handcent 4.0.6, and I can't find that check box.
I've just been using stock.
I kept having a problem with handcent where it would tell me a message didn't send but it really did, so when I resent the message the receiver got it twice and I looked like a dufus.
Chomp has that ad at the bottom that is really annoying. I uninstalled for this reason. I would pay for the app if they would remove that damn add. So far I haven't figured out how to block it, the hosts method seems less and less effective lately.

4.4.2 using messaging when it's not default sms app

Pretty much title. I am using Textsecure but my wife's phone has issues accepting picture messages through textsecure while it's encrypted so I was going to send pictures via messaging but even adjusting the app ops settings messaging is still saying it's not allowed because it's not the default sms app. Anyway around this?

Thanks, but what I was looking for is a way to send messages with Messaging when it's NOT the Default SMS app. I want all of my texts going in to Textsecure and be able to send pictures with Messaging. But when Messaging isn't the Default SMS app, it doesn't allow you to send messages. Even if I give it permission in App Ops. :\

Migrating SMS/MMS from Nexus 4 to Nexus 5

Hi guys,
I'm trying to migrate all my text messages including threaded group MMS from my Nexus 4 to my new Nexus 5. On my N4, I was using the stock messaging app, not hangout as my default messaging service.
I used My Backup Pro to migrate all the stuff over. It worked, sorta. All times on my threads were set to "5:02am" which is probably when the transfer finished. Therefore they're all chronologically jumbled.
Furthermore the MMS threads didn't show up properly. I would only see my response in the group thread.
PS. I downloaded the stock messaging app to use on my Nexus 5. And all these problems are shown on that app. Would you think using Hangout as default will change this?
I was wondering whether you guys had similar experiences and if you know any better ways to go about doing this again.
Ben
I use SMS Backup and Restore. Never had an issue with it. Timestamps are all what they should be.

Yup! Just make sure you check the box for MMS. I think it's free so there's no reason to not try it.

Cool, I'll give it a shot. Are you MMS group threaded or just pictures?
Okay, so I deleted the stock Android messaging app from my N5 and used Hangout as my default messaging app. And it seems like everything got transferred properly. Timestamps are all okay.
The only problem now are group MMS threads. When I open it, it just shows my responses. All the group participant responses don't show up.
Any clues?
I attached two pics to illustrate what I'm talking about. The group thread MMS only contains my response and the participant's response it buried in their SMS thread.
