What profile/processor should I select? Our phone is not listed and the auto detect feature is not available even though it says it is in the market.
Thanks

I think that you have to download in one of the tut's your kernel version and the setcpu.txt I am going to test it
Here, put this in a text file on your sdcard named "setcpu.txt"
Code:
128000,254000,384000,432000,486000,540000,594000,648000,702000,756000,768000,810000,864000,918000,1026000,1080000,1113600,1134000,1188000,1242000,1296000,1350000,1404000,1458000,1512000,1566000,1620000,1674000,1728000,1782000,1836000,1890000

These are the frequencies in KHz. SetCpu then recognizes this and you can OC up to 1.9 GHz (like you see there)

Thanks for clarifying, just placed it in my sdcard and selected custom frequencies, will see how it goes
I did that and it shows up- but the phone will not OC! I have found that you have to follow this thread here to be able to OC- The phone is still stock with root. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166720&highlight=overclock

You need a custom kernel to OC. With the stock kernel actually you can just underclock for battery gains.
Well this worked for me. Been trying to get my sensation over clocked for awhile. thanks

Yes, the EVO 3D is still S-ON and still only has temporary root (no custom ROMs or kernels) but this was accomplished with a loadable kernel module.

But the question is. Does it stick at reboot or would we have to temp root then set the oc everytime you reboot?

thats great and all but i aint touching crap till we can get full root and s-off
I remember when he did the same to the g2. You just had to run a script on reboot. I used gscript

I've been trying to get this to work for the past hour, but I can't get SetCPU to acquire Superuser permissions. I think I'm going to give up. If anyone can get this to work on their Sensation, please tell us how.

Yea I'm starting to think this doesn't work at all for the sensation. I've tried a dozen or so times and nothing seemed to work. I can get the option for the higher clock speed but can't actually set it.

I was able to get setcpu to grant me super user, but unable to get the clock speed to go higher than default.

This is a Complete stock Tmobile USA Sensation 4G Kernel taken from RUU and made into a CWM flashable zip. I have been searching for one but haven't found anything similar to this. I used a zip file from XDA to make my own flashable zip , but I don't know where it came from or who to give thanks to.
File is attached. If it helped anyone, please hit thanks.
-Stock 1.2 GHz Kernel
-Includes Wifi Fix Files
Personally, I think this should be added to the reference thread.
Edit:
Forgot to add the usual
I AM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKS OR IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE. YOU ARE FLASHING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Do you have access to the radio +ril of the original RUU? I'm really interested in trying to see if that will give us TMOUS users the data speeds we enjoyed on gingerbread
is this the one from ICS or GB?
I'll take a look later tonight for the radio files

Well I found the radio.img. No indication of RIL but since they are somewhat related, they are probably just in this file. For some reason though, I can't extract the img like I could with the kernel. If you want to mess with it, then I uploaded it here:
http://www.2shared.com/file/4U7PZ8Vm/radio.html
Also, attached is a list of everything that is in the RUU

I'm not saying that's the cause. It may possibly help. You'll have to experiment to see what the best settings are for you...

Hello guys and gals,
I am rooted and running sky ics.
I have downloaded setcpu and I notice my Max freq is only 1.5GHz
I changed min freq since I don't and never have liked any CPU down clocking.
But as far as overclocking, am I limited to 1500mhz? Or is there something I'm missing?
Thanks guys

And I'm guessing overclocking is the same as PC overclocking?
For example maybe for me I can only hit 1.7ghz and others might be fine at 1.9ghz?
Or am I pretty much going to be OK at 1.9ghz?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Every device has different hardware someone can run 1.9 great and you'll get crushes, you can only know if you try. Technically 1.9 should be fine.

Just as a test I'm running 1.7 and no problems thus far. Scared to try 1.9 lol.

Check in the kernel thread there are script for setting OC and volts, the guy talked about certain voltage for 1.83 that worked great maybe you could try it.

First of all you can edit your posts so don't double post, second here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29456487&postcount=376
next time use the search function.
In his posts he links to his OC and other scripts original post.
so it looks like 1832MHz won't go, it almost did, but it probably needs MOAR volts.
1782 is running stability test right now and seems to be fine. I didn't need a stability test to tell me that, since I ran 1730 or something all day without a problem.
Just testing for the heck of it.
Oh yeah and I'm using the scripts. Thanks for the link man.

Think of it as the "settings" app for the kernel. It allows you to configure or change the values (e.g. cpu/voltage..etc) at runtime. Unless you build an app, you can use std. shell scripts to change the value and run the script at boot time so it says persistent during reboots..

Undervolted - 50 across the board, smartassv2, noop. Probably could have got another hour of on screen time, easy. Plus no Wifi.
Hey Mohan was just wondering if you'd be willing to add the patches to incorporate faux sound control in your next build perhaps? If not no worries...

test driving it..will release over the weekend..
I usually undervolt everything 25-50, underclock to the min on both cpus and overclock them to about 1.7 ghz, always leave sammy governors, and usb fast charge is the ****. Idk how much it really affects my battery life as I haven't had the time to do real comparisons, but I'll get 30 hours with about 4.5 hours of screen time.
I'm running a frankenbuilt, rwc stockbased rom over top of 3.5 and am getting killer sleep stats as well as smoother/faster ui performance, which is exceptional given the dirty config my test rom has atm. Props, bud.
