Hello everyone,
We received really great blessings in the form of S-OFF today . Here's my try at a boot animation which I would like to call the Pyramidroid
Please let me know what you think of this and how I can make it better.
This is in QHD (540x960) resolution.

Hi,
(I flashed Android Revolution HD on my Sensation.) I have no bootanimation.zip in /system/customize/resource, but in /data/local. Is there any difference between the ROMs?

Well, the location of the bootanimation.zip file varies with the different ROMS around. I was referring to the stock rom in the above post, my bad about not mentioning that. You could replace the bootanimation in /data/local too without any harm

I have also flashed Android Revolution HD and I did manage to find where the bootanimation was, now I can't find it at all?
Really doing my head in?
It's not in /system/customize/resource or /data/local either?
I have tried searching for bootanimation.zip with no results found?

Probably not since the DHD works at a resolution of 800x480 while the Sensation works at QHD (960x540)

Can't this be just flashed in Recovery like in other phones ?

Its the same for me and I have Android Revolution HD. I get to the Resources folder and all I see are pictures and the downanimation folder but no Boot.
Edit: OHH Pardon Pardon the reason it doesnt show up there is because when flashed to the Revolution HD rom it unbrands the phone. Any way to change the bootanimation on a debranded phone?

Ok yes it is the /data/local/ if you used Android Revolution HD.
Just copy the bootanimation you want and put it in /data/local/ and change the original to bootanimation.zip.bak

I'm using Revolution HD and root explorer and can not find the boot animation in any of the locations provided. I think it may be because I do not have a boot animation, I only have the first splash screen that say android in metallic writing.

i have s-off on my sensation, and i did what you say to do...system/customize/resource/ but when i go to change it it doesnt let me change the name of delete it. any idea why it doesn?

hi guys,
I'd liked to know, if someone can explain how to make is own bootanimation...
Thnak's for helping

Just about every Android phone has this and I wouldn't be surprised if someone is already working on it, but could someone port it over? I'm sure the Desire HD one would work fine, but I would like my phone to say Inspire 4G.
Sorry, tried to make one for the first time and it just loaded as a blank screen. I will keep doing my homework and figure it out!

I found a generator for the Desire HD one but it only edits general info which is nice, but doesn't edit the device.

Generate one with the info you want and I'll alter the name of the phone for you. Just put the zip here I'll download it and get it back to you tomorrow night.
As far as an actual generator, I don't have a web site to host it on. I am currently leaning to Java script and visual C++. So I don't have the capabilities to make one but I can alter it for you. So all you have to do is paste it in your data>local folder.
Here they are, I went ahead and made one of each if you want to do both in case someone else wants the original loading screen. If you don't, I want the XP one.
I am working on them should be done within the next day.
update: currently looking for the a font package. Harder to find then you think.
any progress?
I still haven't found a matching font. If any one can find a matching font, and put it in a zip for me. I can have it done and ready to flash in about an hour.
I'll try and find it, looks like a basic sans, did you try Google Sans font that was made?
Update: Here we go, looks a little rougher but my guess is because it's a much larger size on my monitor.

Thank you I will work on it late today .

They are being beta tested right now. I have AR 4g w/xp & without/xp, and CoreDroid v3.2 w/my custom xp boot and without/xp boot.
update: as of right now after editing them the png files are to large for the extra xp boot animations but I am working to fix that with out loosing the quality of the png file.
NM, I got it.... the zip file cannot be compressed. lol

Search the forum for "bootanimation" first before asking please, but...
Backup your stuff!!!
It a good idea to first rename your original to bootanimationold.zip or similar then you can just leave it where it is.
You'll need to have a file explorer like es, or root explorer. Copy the .zip file to the root of your sd, then go into said explorer with root permissions, move the file "bootanimation.zip" to system/media/ then set permissions to rw-r-r, and reboot.

When will original ICS-rom for Desire S?..
I tried copying htc_bootanimation.zip via both ESExplorer and IOFileManager, both app failed to copy the file into that directory.
What am I doing wrong?
Also, in that system/costumize/resource directory, I have a file called bootanimation.zip. Do I need to do any cut/rename of any files here?
u need root access if u wanna push file to system and also if u have bootanimation.zip not htc_bootanimation.zip u need to rename file to bootanimation.zip
For some reason I found my zip file in system/media
Just thought I'd let people know. I'm running cm7

This boot animation has a comparatively longer period. So if you are in cm7 or miui, you can experience only a portion of it. Best viewed in Sense Roms.
Now added the background music, so it's much better now.......If you are using any Virtuous Roms (including the latest), use the sense 3.0 version.
Download the Version based on your Rom
Sense 3.0 based Rom - Portrait , Landscape
Sense 3.5 based Rom - Portrait , Landscape
CynogenMod based Rom - Portrait , Landscape
The MIUI version is here. Use this link. This is a .mtz file so just run it, it will do the rest.
Make sure you have you have sufficient space in /system folder, before you start with the procedure.
Procedure to install via CWM Recovery
1. Download the Flashable zip file from the above list.
2. Do a Nandroid Backup.
3. Reboot into Recovery & Flash the zip.
4. Now reboot & enjoy........
will it work on lower sense versions?....like 2.1?
Great job mate ,works well on the Rom I'm using
Out of a matter of interest how would we uninstall this if we wanted to change it?
Looks great!

NEED ROOT! put the zip file in /system/customsize/resource/ and replace the original one(bootanimation.zip or htc_bootanimation.zip) then reboot.
If you are not use a sense4 ROM, replace /system/media/bootanimation.zip
backup your data first.
you can use ROOT Explorer or ES File Explorer to do this.
