I just applied an Anti-Glare Screen Protector to my G2X with Screen-Bleed, and it's become much less noticeable. A lot of people complain about screen bleed, personally, I don't mind it, but the screen protector helped a bunch!
All you really need to do is buy an Anti-Glare Screen Protector, and apply it. I bought 3 for $2.99 on eBay.
Would you submit pictures?
It doesn't seem likely that screen protector will minimize the screen bleed...

I never said it minimized screen bleed. It just makes it less noticeable. If I post pictures, it's not going to prove anything. I'd have to remove my screen protector to compare the results.

First off, my intention for getting a screen protector was to never actually protect the screen, but to reduce finger prints as I have quite oily fingers.
First I tried the Ultimate Screen Protector from Seido.
PRO: Looks like there's no protector on the screen, amazing clarity.
CON: Did NOT help with the finger prints at all. No help in how easily they got ON the screen, or how difficult they are to clean once on.
Then I sent my phone into HTC for repair and they screwed up the screen protector, so I had to take it off.
Now I have on DCMugen's Matte screen protector.
PRO: No fingerprints! For someone with oily fingers this was great.
CON: HUGE reduction in screen quality/clarity. Makes the screen very grainy and small text harder to read.
So now I'm torn, because it seems the clear screen protector doesn't help with fingerprints at all, so I'm constantly wiping it off, but the matte screen protector completely ruins this beautiful screen. I wish there was an intermediate, something which did not reduce fingerprints perhaps as much as the matte screen protector, but closer in clarity to the ultra clear.
thanks for that - i have teh dcmugen clear on my phone right now and its just as bad as the screen without a protector. I have the matte sitting here ready to apply but after reading your post I think i'll hold off - i have enough trouble reading the screen outdoors as it is.
Well, I think the matte one will help with the outdoor visibility very slightly. I mean, overall visibility of the screen. It may be more visible, but the quality of the screen will be much lower.
When you say "its just as bad as the screen without a protector" do you mean in terms of finger prints?
yea finger prints.
the dcmugen matte protecter is amazing outdoors, with that protector and the automatic brightness setting i never have a problem seeing outside, with the clears it was always a pain in the ass, i just put my last dcmugen on the phone, time to order more. Ill never buy my screen protectors from anywhere else
damn I guess I better try out that matte protector after all

Did you try it out? What do you think?
zagg screen protector seems to be the best of both.. no fingerprints and clarity retained.
I have never tried those two brands i have always used Best Skins ever and Gadget Shieldz and they work great. Zagg always costs too much and leaves a orange peel effect on all my devices.
OP, Just use the first screen protector from Seido no sense in ruining that beautiful amoled screen with the other brand just to keep finger prints off and just learn to deal with the finger prints it is a touch screen phone.

Not yet- too busy playing with froyo. will update again if i do
zagg sucks - the feel of the plastic is too sticky for good swiping imo
Any pics of the matte on the phone?
the difference in clarity honestly isnt that great of a difference, the fingerprints and grease that collects on the regular screen protectors affects the clarity more to be honest. Now that its finally always sunny out ive been using a regular clear protector cause i ran out of dcmugens, and i cant see **** on my screen from the glare, i cant wait till the other dcmugens i ordered get here. only down fall is it takes about two weeks to get them in the us since they ship from hong kong
Has anyone find a screen protector for N1 which has same capability as oleophobic coating?
same question here.

I love the dcmugen screen protector. It needs one or two days to get used to the anti-glare feature which makes the screen a bit more "crispy" but you don't see it anymore after a while (really.. please try it for 1 or 2 days and don't throw the protector away after a few minutes.. it gets MUCH better). In addition on the first day the protector wasn't as "slippery" as the original display, but now this issue is gone completely.. no difference with / without protector.
They are cheap, perfect fit and i have nearly 0 fingerprints!
Hmm, so they make your screen blurry? isnt that the whole point of having an oleophobic screen protector to stop finger prints making your screen blurry?
no not really blurry.. hard to explain.. the screen looks a bit different with anti-glare protectors, not bothering me at all after one or two days.
i try to do a video or some photos so you can see what i mean
hope you can see what i mean.. just a slight decrease in quality

Yes, blurry. You lose the sharpness of the image in addition to a decrease in the overall luminance transferred to your eye. And not to mention the rainbow diffraction effect.
Matted displays basically make our 580 dollar AMOLED investment look like a high resolution gameboy advance color. That's what I feel about it anyways.
So far the only CLEAR screen protector I've found to repel fingerprints is the casemate one. Most others make it more difficult to remove fingerprints. Attempting to wipe them off just swirls the oils around.
edit: forget it, useless to discuss.
my screen is bright enough and there is no rainbow in my phone .. I like it.. thats all i wanted to say if someone want to test it (for a few $...)
can i buy only the screen protector? the only thing i see is this ultra ugly full protect thing.. this is even worse.. buying a $600 phone and then wrap it in 10 cent plastic
I used to have an Iphone and I am looking for a very similar product I had on the screen that was the best I used on a smart phone. I am looking for the same thing for a N1 if possible. The product was made by www.powersupportusa.com and it was called the anti-glare film set with fingerprint/smudge resistance for iphone 3G. Anyone have any idea of what type of screen protector I am referring to? and can maybe give me an idea one just like it for the N1 that isn't so expensive? I'd like to buy one soon for my N1. Thnx for any response
nobody knows?
http://www.clarivue.com/htc-nexus-one-screen-protector.html
Not familiar with the one you mentioned but I've been using Zagg's protector for my N1 and it provides decent protection while still allowing me to use the desktop charger.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Hey thnx do you personally use this? Is it good against smudges and fingerprints?
I have the clarivue. I used it back a few months ago, it's great for antiglare and smudges, but it absolutely kills the color and contrast.
With that said, I put another one back last week. The phone is usualbe inthe sun again, and no wiping it down every three seconds. Trying to see on it with polarized sunglasses is a joke though lol.
Also you'll get a 'rainbow" effect, but you'll get used to it.
I've found that dcmugen's anti glare protector just gets better over time. I was pretty disappointed in the beginning, but now all is good. You do get the rainbow effect, but I got to compare mine with a N1 without a screen protector and I was surprised at how small the difference in brightness and color was. So if you try an anti-glare protector, let it stay on for at least a week.
That's my advice anyways
+1, I was so close to remove it, waited then for a few days and now it is awesome. They are very cheap too.
...and nearly no fingerprints with this protector!

Do you have a picture with the screen protector with the screen on?
I posted some photos a few days ago here in the forum, will search for it...
Look for the "screen protector with oleophobic coating" thread.

I took a picture now of it now, looks ok. Not exactly the best photographer in the world though
edit:
You should view it full size and just ignore the jpeg artifacts

Thanks Looks pretty good to me, maybe I should get one too
On my Nexus One, I have the Boxwave ClearTouch Anti-Glare, and I like it a lot. Of course it loses a little clarity since it's an anti-glare screen protector, but I've gotten used to that.

Yes, the dcmugen antiglare... It is much more fingerprint resistant than the N1's screen anyway. Used the phone for two weeks without wiping off fingerprints (which as you know is pretty much impossible without a oleophobic screen protector).
Brando ones.
for me,the best.

Ebay, costs $5 for five protectors
I continue to have problems with screen protectors. So, considering going bare and then if I get scratches either adding a protector or buying a replacement screen.
Question is have you scratched the glass then added a protector? If so, did it make the scratch totally invisible? Did you use a wet or dry protector?
Yes, I have. I have a lot of scratches on my screen. Only one of them is deep, the others are light, but are really visable when tilting the phone at an angle.
I applied a screen protector and now all of the scratches are not visable, all but the one deep one, and even then it's not as noticeable as before.

i feel bad for your phone bro.
I had a couple of scratches on my MT4G and installed a phantomskinz "wet" application screen protector and the scratches did not show after. Just take your time on installation. Best screen protector IMHO.
Hi all, just a quick post to let you guys know my experience with a matte screen protector i bought.
The reason i bought this one was because of the fast and free 2-day delivery just because i needed one. I got 5 very small scratches on the curved side of my screen and i was surprised about how fast it scratched compared to my S2 which has been in the same pockets.
So the main issue with this screen protector is that the screen got a bit blurry but worst of all: i see some kind of buzz going all over my screen, like when its wet. I can see red, blue and green pixels, mainly red and green though, only blue when i look carefully.
Maybe its because its a bad and cheap screen protector or because of the high density of pixels on the note 4, i dont really care as it is only a temporary screen protector but its very very very annoying.

I've tried to capture a photo but it was not visible so i cant show it to you guys.
The problems you described were actually the characteristics of a Matte Screen Protector.. I can't technically explain it to you as I dont know how it is made, but thats how it is.
Yeah I was just gonna say, all matte screen protectors look like that. Nothing new here lol.
I using one now and ordered the anker ones should be here soon. The benefits of no fingerprints and no reflection are good.
Something tells me "smartphonehoesjes.nl" isn't going to be the best of all websites to buy a screen protector (even though it means cover in Dutch), maybe that's just me. Get a tempered glass screen protector, it's worked great for me. I have MIME Ghost Glass. Not cheap though.
That's simply how matte screen protectors work. You have not received a defective product.
