I am running the most recent version of Gummycharged GB version and using the AOSP browser it came with.
Anyone else have a problem viewing photos on Facebook Mobile where it makes the picture larger than the screen and you can't scroll to see the whole picture?
I have tried googling this and found only one relevant post which had no answer =|
Thanks.

I've recently made the switch to a real android phone from my hd2 constantly running fairly smooth android and something I've noticed in both phones, in both different eclair and froyo roms, is that while the default gallery app has a pretty ui it is awful as an actual photo viewer. The hd2 running wm had a great picture viewer with great adaptive zooming so I find it highly disconcerting that a superior os like android could butcher such a vital feature. Just zooming into any photo on my vibrant is a nightmare quite honestly. Even at no zoom pictures look bad and nowhere close to their actual level of detail.
So in short, I was wondering if this was a known issue of the cooliris gallery app and if there are any good photo viewers for android which provide pinch-to-zoom while also not emaciating my precious pictures? I've tried a bunch of android market picture viewer apps but most were even worse or provided no functionality at all.

Bump for photo app suggestions?

I think that there is a problem with the rendering of pictures with the gallery, but I can't remember where I found it out...
Try out:
'JustPictures!' and 'Floating Image' from the market.
EDIT - Found out the reason here:

Try Large Image Viewer http://www.appbrain.com/app/image.viewer
I'm using Multi Touch Gallery too - works a treat

Well I tried all the suggested apps but so far l.i.v is my favorite. Its ui is a bit boring and its a bit lacking in features but it's the best at doing what image viewers are supposed to; view images. But thanks for all the suggestions!

Has anyone else experienced the issue when selecting to view a photo in the gallery it is a fraction of the size of the screen (and no I'm sure I'm not just looking at the thumbnail grid). This wasn't an issue since unboxing. I just noticed it last night. It really bothers me.

Yea I posted there and no one offered any help.
I recently changed from CM9 to Fallout 2.0. I like having the Sense UI back
What annoys me is that the contact pictures in this Sense-ROM look really crappy. Using CM9 I had hi-res pictures everywhere. It looked especially great when accessing a contact or getting a call.
But now on Sense 4 it looks very pixelated.
FYI: The pictures are synced from my google contacts.
Is there a possibility to improve the quality of the contact pictures?
i find that stock cam(endymion) has a much better quality than cm7 which i had previously.
Did you try to reassign your photos again to the contacts? I did that and it works when I change roms instead of using Google's back up assistance contact photos because I had that same issue.

Look at the application from the maker ultimate call screen hd
(ucs) which is written by our very own lowveld
Swyped from my DesireS
Or ultimate contact sync HD by lowveld...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lowveld.ultimatecontacts
Tapatalked from a Desire S waiting for Kernel 3 sources. WAKE UP HTC!!!!!!
Reassigning the picture on the phone did help. But I already assigned the hi-res pictures via gmail. This gets tedious if I have to reset each picture on the phone. Unfortunately this seems to be the only option.
Well, installing applications for additional functions is not what I was looking for.
I really was hoping for a setting I did not see. Because the contacts look great as they are without any tweaks on the phone when using CM9.
I'll try Ultimate HD Contacts and give a feedback
[Update]
Ultimate Contacts HD crashes when I tap a contact...
Hi guys,
I basically just sold me SG S3 and swapped it for the HTC One S, which might I add, was a good decision! I'm by no means a power user and definitely rate the aesthetics and build quality from the One S over the power you get from the S3. Just my preference really.
Anyways. one thing that's bugging me with the One S, which is probably a HTC Sense thing.. But the Gallery app sucks! When using my S£ (and previously my Nexus S), I was able to view Picasa Albums as if they were stored locally. I.e. if I wanted to set a photo somewhere in my Picasa albums as a desktop image, I cannot seem to do it in HTC Sense.
Where as with my old Nexus S and SG S3, I was able to view the photos stored on Picasa as if they were local files and do with them whatever I could do with proper local files.
I can see my Picasa albums, by selecting "Albums" from the top-left dropdown and selecting "Picasa Web Albums", but cannot really do anything with the photos other than view them!
Anyone know why this is/what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Nik
I was having the same problem, even with the AOSP gallery on CM10 that's supposed to sync with Picasa. I found a version of the AOSP gallery somewhere on XDA that actually works though. Try searching around XDA or the Android Market for ICS gallery or maybe JB gallery or even sideload the gallery from your SGS3 backup if you have it...the version of the Gallery.apk that works for me is 1.1.30682...
I use auto upload when WiFi+charging, great for our phones with limited storage, So I rely a lot on Google+ auto backup photos. I delete pictures from my local album to free space, but...
When I am browsing my photos through Google+, I CANNOT swipe left or right to go previous/next picture. If I do that, when I leave the app, my phone gets extreme lag, especially in home screen and notification drawer. I even thought this was some CleanRom related bug, but I'm using stock rooted and the problem is still there. I also thought this could be a Sense Launcher bug, but even with Nova launcher it happens.
Anyone else having this issue? I bet there a lot of people experiencing this.. It took me a while to figure out what was causing it, but it's very simple: Just open a photo on Google+ and swipe left or right to go the next/previous pic. Your phone should lag like crazy until you reboot it.

I get the lag too. I usually get it after closing YouTube, I also did the photo swiping you mentioned and was affected as well. Are you using the elementalx or bulletproof kernels?
Using stock rooted rom and kernel. I used to get similar slowdowns on ElementalX kernel, but I could never find the source. In this case I was able to nail it down, and I haven't experienced lag from other apps.

Honestly unless your a huge fan of Google plus I would recommend using drop box (which has the same feature) .
(Especially since it seems like Google plus failed to take off)
+ drop has integration to backup stuff from quite a few apps (fuelio & tibu for example)

I have used dropbox and box extensively before trying Google+ photos. What makes Google+ more attractive to me is that uploads at standard(but still high) resolution are unlimited. It also uploads my videos in HD, also unlimited.
It's not all about storage(I have a 50gb box account). When I actually want to view or download my photos , Google+ is much, much MUCH faster to load. Dropbox and Box are super slow to load, and they also don't sort my pictures by date. Google+ even highlights what it thinks are the best pictures from any given day, enhances them to make them look better and it even creates animations out of my burst shots.
For photo storage, Google+ is so much better, there's just no contest.
