Wifi or tethered "MULTIPLE" fast apk install - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

this is my first creation and upload
i was at work and i downloaded an app pack of about 800 apps and games, 1.45gb
i had not taken my cable with me and i could not be bothered using bluetooth, dropbox or someother wifi program to transer them one by one, then use an installer to install them one by one, and have to actually be sat at the computer the entire time and sat pressing install again and again i thought bollocks that idea entirely
so i made this
now all i have to do is put all my apks into on folder click a button and let the computer do the rest
you MUST transfer the apkinstall folder to the root of your c: drive or it will not work
put all your apks into the apk folder and run the script
enjoy !!!!!
follow link below as it will not let me post a direct link

NEW app for Mac users. auto push.

In all my laziness I decided to make another droplet app that allows Mac users to automatically push files to their sd cards. I find this useful when I don't want to mount my sdcard, or when I'm in recovery. I just loaded the new cm update 4.2.1 with this.
I have made 2 other apps that come in handy every once in a while. An app to sign your .APK and .ZIP files. And the less useful ADB Install app. Just drag a folder of .apk files onto this app and they will all be installed by adb without you having to do anything. The downside to this app is that you don't receive updates from the market if there are new versions. SORRY!
You can download all three together here or individually below
Android-Push just drag file onto app with phone connected to usb. must have adb installed.
Android-Sign drag .apk/.zip files to sign them. must have testsign.jar in ROOT Directory(Macintosh HD)
ADB-Install Drag folder of .apk files to install them. must have adb installed.

I don't know if this will work or not on power pcs. The programs only use terminal commands. you will still need to have the necessary files on your computer, like the testsign.jar and adb installed. try it out and let me know.

If you really want to change the icon of any apk and you're rooted... pull the file onto your computer. You can use Terminal to move it to your SD card first, then to your pc. Make a copy as a backup. Open the apk in 7zip. Find the correct drawable folder which holds the icon and drag/drop whatever icon you want into that folder. 7zip will automatically handle the rest. Just close 7zip, and move the file back over to the SD card, then use Terminal to copy it back to the phone.
Might need to reboot as well.

How could I pull all the apps ?
My only contribution to XDA. Hope it can help.
It was written for the G1, but I can only assume it will work for the N1, too.

If you have to ask, maybe you shouldn't be attempting this yet. If you're rooted, all you need to do is use Terminal Emulator or connect the phone to your phone if you have ADB setup, and copy the apk files whose icons you want to change to your computer.
Essentially, you're just copying them onto your computer, editing them, then overwriting the ones on your phone.
Are you sure, that it works with Apps from Market?
I think, there is a problem with signing after that procedure.

[Q] [App] Carbon Backup - Can't restore - Help Please

Hi I used carbon backup unrooted, and did a PC Download of all my app data for about 200 apps, so have a 2GB zip file.
I went on PC download again and tried to upload this to restore my device, but it never seems to upload, it just hangs there.
Is there anyway to convert this file so that I can put it on the device and restore from USB storage?
Thanks!
the uploading stays there for me so i am also interested in this

I have found that if you transfer the files to your PC you should find that each app has a .ab file. You then download android developer tools to your machine and restore each file individually using such a command as:-
adb restore file.ab
When it asks for the password on the phone just hit accept. If you backed up the apk originally it should install it and restore the data, if not download the app from the play store, don't open it and do the adb restore to just do your data.
This worked for me on a couple of Apps.
Obviously you need to enable usb debugging etc.

Carbon uses the native backup option included in the 4.0+ sdk so you simply use ADB to restore these files.
I am a mac / linux person so if you are using windows it might vary a small amount.
Get the Zip file created by carbon and unzip it somewhere e.g. your desktop
Download the developer tools from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html and extract the files somewhere e.g Desktop
Enable USB debugging on the phone + install drivers for your phone if using windows + connect phone to computer via USB.
Open up command prompt / terminal and navigate to the folder containing the ADB app on a mac it's in platform-tools.
Find the app from within folder containing the extracted carbon backups and find the app you want to restore. The file should end in a .ab file extension. Look at the file size. If it's quite big compared to the app size listed within the play store and when you created the carbon backup you told it to include the apk's there is a good chance the app is included. If it is too small they install the app from the play store but don't open it.
Then run something like the following in the command prompt:-
adb restore path/to/the/file.ab
A screen should pop up on your phone asking you to enter a password to restore the file. You don't need to enter one. Just click what ever the positive button is to continue. It should restore successfully. If so, open the app and your settings should be there.
Let me know if you need anymore help

Blackberry home

This is NOT my work I'm only posting a link to the original thread. Fully working! The keyboard is weird but kind of cool.
How I installed. I downloaded every file, I wanted to try it all. then extracted them all to the same folder. Then I copied the priv-app folder into System root/system using FX Explorer (you need root) any root Explorer will do the trick. After that just reboot. With the launcher you can use icon packs as well!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3244542
Don't forget to thank @entrysky for all his hard work.
Mentions that CWM or TWRP Recoveries are needed?
I just extracted the zips then copied the priv-app into System using a root explorer and rebooted. Worked for me, I'm guessing flashfire might work but could take longer to do.
Hope this helps.

Still not quite sure exactly what you are doing here. Each Zip has it's own priv-app folder. What exactly are you combining before putting it into the system folder?
FYI: Flashing zips in order with Flashfire didn't work.
I extracted each one into the same folder, so all the apps ended up in the same priv-app folder as seen in this pic. Then I copied the priv-app folder.
Here is a step by step guide with pictures.
1) download the files.
2) get RAR from Google play. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rarlab.rar
3) open RAR and go to where you download the files, select all the files you want (see first PIC)
4) click the extract button and tick overwrite without prompt. (See PIC 2) then click OK.
5) using a root explorer open the files you just extracted i use FX
6) open the system folder (see PIC 3)
7) copy priv-app (see PIC 4+5)
8) go to your system(ROOT) (see PIC 6)
9) scroll down to the system folder then open it (see PIC 7)
10) in FX there is a padlock at the top to allow read/write click this (see PIC 8, 9 and 10)
11) Go to clipboard then paste select merge/overwrite (see PIC 11 and 12)
12) Long press the middle button on the back of your phone in the middle of volume up/down and select reboot.
13) click thanks

Very much appreciate the effort! Unfortunately, even though I followed your directions perfectly, I still don't have any of the apps. I'm not sure if using flashfire to flash the files previously screwed something up.
That's strange? Did you download 1-4 as these are the main files you need. As you can see its worked for me. Have you tried to fix permissions?
Thank you for sharing. BTW, have you tried BB HUB? also, what about permissions? Maybe I missed but you didnt mentioned anything about it.
I've used the hub its quite handy having all your notifications in one place, also the password keeper is very handy for storing and generating passwords.
Permissions need to be 644 there are apps which will fix it all automatically for you or you can do it manual set to read/write then read and read. See PIC
I have copied resources, productivity edge, services, launcher and hub, but nothing works. Changed permissions for folders and files.. I took only priv folders from zips and coppied to system..
That's strange, i can't be the only one it works for? Did you download the BlackBerry exchange services fixed?

priv folder in fixed zip is empty, no apk inside... btw I extradited it on PC, then transferred to sd.
Strange? I've zipped what I used and uploaded it to my Google drive there is also 2 apps in the app folder I didn't bother with these t.b.h. I've only just noticed them lol. Try extracting the zip the copy app and pri-app into your root system folder let me know if it works? You might have a corrupt download or 2.

Hyperkin Smartboy ROM copying

First off, I am new to the forum, so if I'm breaking the rules (which I have read, and believe I am following correctly) or if this post would fit better in a different section, please let me know!
So I have the Hyperkin Smartboy USB-C version, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to download ROMs off of it? I have a few GB/GBC games that I would like to be able to play in times where I don't have the Smartboy and cartridge with me (NOT in order to file share, in fact I want to do this to avoid downloading the ROMs online). For those who don't know, it will temporarily place the ROM on your device and allow you to open it in an emulator. I attempted to load the ROM, open a file explorer, and copy the ROM from there, but the file wasn't there. My guess is that the Smartboy simply removes the ROM from the device unless either the Smartboy app or the emulator app is running.
Again, if this post is against the rules (as it could be considered pirating) please let me know and I will remove it. Thanks in advance for any info!
I figured it out!
Immediate after posting I messed around with it for about half an hour and figured it out, so here's how I did it if anyone is interested:
TOOLS/SOFTWARE NEEDED:
Hyperkin Smartboy
A file explorer app with the "archive" option located on the top half of the screen (I used File Explorer Root Browser by JRummy Apps)
The GB/GBC cartridge you would like to copy to your device
HOW TO:
Place the file explorer app at the top of your homescreen for easy access. Open the app and navigate to /storage/emulated/0
Plug your phone into the Smartboy and load the cartridge data
Hit "Run Launch Software". This will open the emulator
Go back to the homescreen and open the file explorer
Open the HyperkinSmartboySerial folder and archive smartboy.gb (place it in a ZIP folder)
Move the folder to your desired location and unzip it
And that's it! I hope this thread helps anyone who's been wondering how/struggling to do this. Enjoy
Disclaimer: Pirating is bad, mkay. Please don't download/share ROMs that you do not personally own a copy of.
Thanks for the info im going to try it.
