So I SBF'd my DX to 2.3.340 successfully with RSD Lite... but it keeps coming up with 4G after the SBF. Since I have 3G, I cannot use internet or connect to Google or anything! How can I SBF to 2.3.340 with 3G? Or is there an easy fix I'm not aware of?
Umm...what? What do you mean it's coming up with 3G? Did you use the correct SBF file?
Forum mod, please move this to the appropriate Droid X forum also, probably...
It doesnt come up as 3G (which I need) It is an SBF for 2.3.340 4G. I have downloaded about 10-15 different SBF files and all are 4G. Do you know of another one for 3G? Because I have looked for about 5 months now.
curious
That doesn't seem right considering the only "4G" motorola devices are with sprint and not verizon do a bit more research it shouldn't be too hard to find.

I've been really having a hard time following the DX and D2 differences in this forum. It seems as though the DX and D2 are able to use each other's SBF. I wanted to confirm if I flash 2.3.320/2.3.340 to my D2 in addition, will it allow me to install the latest ROMS?
Thanks.
Neither one is for the D2, you want 2.3.20...
Do you have a D2G? You posted this question in the D2G section. The D2 has two different SBF's the old 2.2.0 and the newest 2.3.2.0
If you have the Update from verizon (2.3.2.0) then you shouldn't need to flash anything to install the roms and even if you didn't have the update the ROM would update your phone and you should be fine. The only thing you shouldn't flash are old roms from when we had the old Verizon base 2.2.0 because those will mess up your phone if you have the update because the update changed the kernel and some other stuff which won't allow the old one to be flashed.
But if you have a D2G, the D2G doesn't have an SBF out yet so D2G's have to be careful.

Holy crap! I didn't realize I posted in the D2G section. I have a D2, NOT the D2G. The D2G needs it's own area, not the D2 area. They are "different," so shouldn't they be separated?
Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna flash some ROMs tonight. I miss this stuff since my poor Eris took a crap.

The Milestone X and the Milestone are not the same device. The Milestone X is a Droid X released this year but for smaller companies such as Alltel and here,in Puerto Rico, Open Mobile.
The problem we Milestone X'ers face is that we have to risk accidentally making them Verizon Droid X's, in other words making them useless on our carriers since the only ROM's available are designed for the Verizon Droid X.
I've made this mistake I can't get to activate my phone with Open Mobile Puerto Rico. Let me know if you find anything that covers Open Mobile PR carrier.
A curious thing happened by the way. When I installed the stock update rom 2.3.340 for Verizon the first time and I tried to activate if was of course for Verizon Wireless, so I did reinstall and tweaked a bit, but after a while I started getting activation for Claro PR.
I have no clue what changed but just a thought for brainstorming.
Try The Droid X Roms, Its A Possibility That They Work. --> Droid X <-- . But Make Sure You Nandroid First
OK, I have looked on the internet and have not found a clear answer. Is it safe, or even possible to sbf to stock froyo from the official ota android 2.3.3 gingerbread build for the Droid X
This thread has been up for a while, and I guess I might as well answer my own problem.maby my question will help others.Yes, you certainly can sbf flash from the gingerbread over the air build on the droid x and numerous other phones to froyo. Another phone is the droid 2 global. You can go from build 4.5.607 gingerbread to 2.4.29 froyo.
sbf stands for super base 95 file I believe
What exactly does sbf stand for?
Hey everyone,
I seem to have bricked my phone while downgrading to 2.4.29 sbf so I can unlock the gsm bands.
I have read a lot about unbricking, but they all suggest to upgrade to the latest version, which the gsm bands wouldn't be available on and upgrading wouldn't be much help because I flashed it just to get tmobile on it.
Any suggestions??
Thanks a lot in advanced.

Thanks, in the middle of trying now and the links are dead, but I found several copies of the ota 629 update(from step 7) with different file sizes and I'm not sure which one to use.
I found this one
http://www.mediafire.com/?591t5kzfmgcm4d5
which is 19.47mb
And I found this one
http://www.4shared.com/zip/XxIxb1Jd/blur_version45608a956verizonen.html
Which is 14.37mb
Which one is the right one??
Use this instead.

Never mind.
Everything is working perfect after I followed that first thread.
Thank you all.
Alright, so I have a Verizon Droid 2, flashed over to Cricket. What I want to know is if I try to flash a ROM to my phone (like Steel Droid or CM) would it affect my cell phone service or anything? Also, are there any working root techniques for the Droid 2 anymore? If it helps, I'm running 2.3.4 and I can't find one anywhere.
