List of rooted ROMS? - T-Mobile LG G2x

Is there a list of rooted ROMs anywhere now that we can't root via superoneclick?

Check the development section.

Just NVFlash CWM and either flash a ROM or copy a Nandroid backup to your SD card to restore from. Pretty sure they're all rooted.

[Q] Creating a backup before rooting

Can you create a nandroid type backup before rooting a xoom in case something goes wrong? Is it possible to boot into recovery? I know you can root and install clockworkmod...which is what I intend to do. But I would like to know if it is possible to backup the xoom before attempting to root.
You can do a nandroid backup from CWM. But file size is limited to 4gig. So if you have a lot of apps, games, or data it's a no go.
You can boot into recovery with the 3g verson, but not the wifi only.

So that is after you root and install CWM, right? Is there a way to do a backup prior to rooting?
You can only make a nandroid backup after installation of CWM. And you have to be rooted to have access to your SD card. CWM will store the backup on your SD card.

Rom manager backup question

For some reason rom manager will only back up if I unmount my ext sd card. Otherwise it just boots into recovery. I can't seem to find any settings to change it.

Please excuse me. But do you mean nandroid backup? If so backup from within clockworkmod.

I used to just tap backup current rom in rom manager, make a name for it and it did its thing. Now I have to unmount the sd card first, then do the backup.

4EXT - Deleting android backups

How do you delete nandroid backups you no longer want?
Thanks
Its saved onto the sd card. Find the folder of the backup and delete it.

Thanks.... Even though I currently run 4Ext I previously had Clockworks Mod, and found the nandroid backups there.
There's really no other place for a file that large to be, unless you're using a SGS2 with an internal SD card. But its got to be some file, hunt around and I'm sure you'll find it

[Q] How do you make a nandroid backup?

I recently flashed Proton's ICS kernel because I wanted to watch videos, and it came with TWRP instead of CWM. How do I make a nandroid backup with TWRP?
And is there anyway I can switch to CWM from TWRP?
And another question, How do I view the system files?
Just go to backup on the main screen but that TWRP backup only really works if you are using TWRP to restore that backup. If you want CWM thrn easiest way is to vhnge the kernel to something else

What do I check though? There are six options.
System
Data
Boot
Recovery
Cache
.android_secure
I checked everything especially system and data...doesnt really hurt anything it just makes the backup a larger file since more data is being backedup

it depends...
when you do a backup in recovery mode....
"sometimes" it means that you are not sure about you are flashing right now...
so when you do a restore.... it will back to ur "previews rom" and apps etc...
BUT! BUT! when you are sure to ur chosen rom..
Do a titanium backup... before flashing you ROMS.
this backup can restore your apps ( just install the apps and restore )
like action games.. your save gameplays your high scores etc...
Suggest that you do it BOTH.

Help restoring backup! Clockworkmod and recovery

Hello! I need help!
I flashed a rom yesterday and I backed up my rom before flashing. Today I was trying to restore my backup and the system did not find it. I can see it using Astro file manager under clockworkmod and backups. But on recovery it won't show. And the recovery shows three backups that I don't remember doing but two out of the three are not accesible. Please, if you can tell me how to make clockworkmod see my backup. I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
Did you backup to the internal drive or external sd card. Try going to your backup and restore then click the restore from external sd card to see if it is possibly there.

I don't have an SD card. It was saved on my internal drive. I tried to but it says I can't because there is no Sd card.
Did you format your internal drive before you tried restoring the backup. Usually my cwm just populates the ones I have done or if I want to pull one of the ones on my sd card I can. I will try moving my backup and see if I can replicate the problem.

no I didn't I'll try to move it to an sd card and see what happens
I moved my backup to another folder and cwm did not find it. I'm not sure if you possibly moved it from the clockwork folder or not. I hope you figure it out.

If you are still having problems try going into rom manager app. Should have a manage and restore option. From there it should have a list of your backups and will let you restore from one of those.

Another thing to try is to make sure your recovery is current and up to date. That same thing happened to me (with TWRP) and it turned out it was due to me flashing a 4.2 rom (which changes the file structure of your sd) and having an older recovery that didn't support it.
