I wanted to know if anybody would be interested in trading with me a T-mobile Sensation for a Optimus 3D... its sim unlocked, no problems , in perfect condition... I don't want the sensation, because it can't be rooted

Lucky guy. Also happy to see T-Mobile actively supports the development community which leads me to believe that they won't block the S-OFF roll out from HTC.

Dunno. Coming from my n1 running cm7 I don't miss it. Apps like feedr go poof, weak camera, poor corporate network support. All things that just work on the sensation stock rom. With the exception of nandroid there's not
A thing I need root for. On the n1 I needed it to work around all the limitations of the various roms out there, not the case with the sensation.

I'm going to claim the insurance on my tmo g2 (cracked screen ._.), and I was wondering if there was any possible way to root the mt4gs? Is it not possible to downgrade and root at this time?
afaik no root for latest ota
if your MT4GS comes with the latest update and S-ON, then you will not be able to root or downgrade at this time. any other situation, like S-OFF or pre-OTA, and you will have options

i have a sensation and mt4gs, they are basically the same phone. but the mt4gs blows the sensation away on data speed in my findings, although sensation has a bigger screen the camera does not compare.mt4gs has less bloat. just seems to run faster.

Seriously? Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Haha the biggest attraction for the sensation for me is the bigger screen. Are both phones rooted btw? I can definately remove alot of bloat and perhaps play around with radios to help data speed. The camera is the biggest +1 for the mt4gs, but the weight and width difference is kind of a turnoff if they're basically the same phone.
Ahh nevermind. I've read a few times already that the new ota is unlockable. I'm definately going for the sensation now. Thanks for the help though

I was thinking about that, but I was just looking for a straight up trade. I'm already paying the insurance deductible, I don't want to spend any more money on a phone xD

It would be nice to be able to use the new radio with a custom ROM. The MT4GS is a damn good phone. My reception sux, but I am in Afghanistan as well. When I get back to the states, I expect to be cruising along like normal.

I'm assuming you mean the captivate? I would pick the sensation hands down compared to the captivate...more pixels, 8MP camera compared to 5MP and its dual core...

I think the sensation already has ICS ROMS available, not sure about the official upgrade.

My coworker just got a phone that looks like an Iphone 4s but its an android.
When I looked at the back of the phone it has "PG58130" for the P/N... when I google it, it comes up as the HTC Sensation and brings me here..
Even the phone is stamped on the inside battery slot with "HTC Sensation".
is this where I go for modifications for it?

People, it's not a Sensation, and there's no way in hell it has a Sensation's insides. Odds are, it's got limited ram and a 600ish Mhz processor - likely older, weaker, than today's standards. It's just a cheap KIRF.
