will i still recieve the ota updates even though i am rooted and running miui rom and netarchy kernel? cause i heard an update is fixing to roll out for the ns4g (radios).
no. all custom roms / kernels will be removed from ota
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15988370#post15988370 flash that if you want the OTA.
forgive me for being a newb... but isnt that link to a custom rom made by acs?
not really sure i understand with the deodexed and odexed stuff their talking about in that link.
i did a backup in cwm before i put miui rom and the new kernel, if i restore back to stock w/ root will it remove the kernel i flashed as well? and will the stock rom w/ root enable me to get the new ota? or do i need to reflash the stock kernel as well?
thank you for your patience.
what is the difference between deodexed and odexed?

I was running stock rooted ROM on my HTC Desire a while back, then I first flashed Oxygen 2.0.1, but I found bugs in it, so then I flashed Cyanogen, there's no marketplace in there, and now I'm utterly bugged with the bugs of these custom ROMs. I really need to get back to stock rooted ROM
Any genuine stock ROMs which I can flash? Also, if I need a different radio, then I need a link to download that radio and the procedure to flash the radio.
Current radio - 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
hello everybody , before i proceed to root my phone ,
can i update my phone through OTA once i rooted , but locked back the bootloader?
You can as long as you didn't remove any stock apps. The better idea would be to grab a pre-rooted stock ROM (or any other for that matter) from the dev section...

Here is the announcement and link I wont be downloading however but I cant wait for a cooked version of this. I LOVE my cooked stock rom

so if you are running pure stock this update will load gingerbread over the stock froyo ?
Yes...if you are running pure stock (not rooted stock but straight up untouched) then yes, it will install GB over Froyo. If you're rooted it will still do the same thing except kill your root access also.
We dont need more then one thread about this.

So I'm Rooted with the custom ROM Android Revolution HD, when ICS is release i realize that i won't be receiving the OTA update for ICS, so is my best option for updating flashing a custom ICS ROM?

The HTC Message can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/notes/htc/a...pgrades-to-ice-cream-sandwi/10150518462703084
So I guess you can wait for an RUU that either supports ICS or can be OTA'd to ICS. OR, install an ICS compliant custom ROM which IMHO will be available prior to that. I guess it depends on source code availability though.

Hi,
ICS is not available yet.
When it does become available for the Sensation, the devs will make a ROM which you can flash on your s-off phone.
People are working on a port,as we speak.
You can follow their progress HERE.
MIUI China is working on it too I think they are going to try to have it done by Christmas. CM squad will be working on it too.
