I really do like the way sense looks now. The only thing I despise is the pull down bar. Is there anyway to replace the recent apps with power widget? Like in decks and cm7. I think this could be very popular since most people would rather keep the hold down home
Deck's + SZ + SuperCharger script + ViperMod script.
Couldnt agree more. As far as I've read, no ones been able to acheive this yet. I Dont get the people that love the recent apps there. Makes me wonder if they know about longoress home.

i thought i read somewhere that Chismurf was going to do it for new OTA but that was it. i could be wrong on this so dont quote me.
There was a write up in the desire hd forum a while back that told how to mod the systemui.apk to remove the recent apps crap. Never got brave enough to try it, will see if I can find the thread again.

I might try this

Androidsupra, thanks for the jumpoff point. Curious though, on sense 3.0, isn't everything done with m10 and snaking, where with sense 1.0 (and 2.1?) It was simpler?
Either way, hope a dev FAR more knowledgeable than i will take a look. I Dont care for the redundancy of HTCs ridiculous feature

I agree. I can't stand the recent application section. My friend had a Rom running Sense 3.0 on his Thunderbolt that has the recent apps taken away. Looks fantastic.

From what I know, the m10 files are simply for the sizing of the items in the Rom to make them work on our device because of the resolution of the qhd phones 3.0 came on.

Actually, i thought m10 was a format/filetype HTC used in sense 3.0. It's just that the m10s have to be resized to make the newer roms fit our display. Not that m10 is a porting mechanism to make the resizing work.
Obviously, anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

CM6 already has Landscape homescreen... Just gotta make sure the fancy widget changes to whats above.
If you use launcher pro, the launcher icons rotate too.
CM 6 (stock vanilla froyo) does this. and its better than sence.
Example... The fancy widget needs a better landscape mode

+1...I prefer vanilla in a lot of areas compared to sense, but I always find myself going back to sense. LauncherPro is getting better though.
Works fine with LauncherPro as well. I have 4G and all that good stuff on a fast, stable ROM. I have not found any Sense widget that doesn't have an equal or superior replacement anyway. They're OK but not very customizable and kinda gaudy/glossy.

Thanks a ton for this effect! I love this feature but I'm having the same issues I had with this that I had with another rom. Everything was running very smooth on my widgets but after adding the carousel, my facebook, people, mail and message widgets all are very laggy. I don't know what it is about this feature that does that but I'm not sure it's a good tradeoff for the performance I was having. Someone will probably figure it out in good time though. Very nice to have this option though. Thanks given!
p.s. It did take away right button rosie setting feature. Back to personalization.

Yes, of course it will run on Cyanogen Rom. There is, of course, no reason to use this when there is a working, fully-optimized, ROOTED Evo 3d Port exclusive to Cyanogenmod users that you can download right here..

Hey fdb8231, thanks a lot for this and your efforts to get our carousels spinning! Lol, I do have one question though. What's the difference between the rosie3 that came in the synergy nightly 0.18 zip (with all 3d widgets included) and this one, because it seems like that one was sized for our screens a little better. the issue I had with that one was it threw all htc widgets out of wack and caused FCs (probably from flashing a nightly on RC1, but a lot of people said it worked flawlessly). Where did this rosie.apk come from?

and along the same token, your lack of concern for preserving the awesomeness of the camera is your opinion and, I imagine, not one that is held widely by the MT4GS userbase.
one of the selling points of this phone is the camera... and that goes out the window with the AOSP camera app. before this phone, I wouldn't have cared either, but since it has such a capable setup out of the box for being a point and shoot replacement, it seems like a waste to toss that just to get an AOSP rom.
Before jumping to conclusions about the built in Camera software versus the third party camera apps available on the market, we should test them out first.
I'm absolutely certain that there will be apps out there in the future that will be able to control the entire camera in this phone. The only question is when. That being said I only care in so far as being able to turn the flash on and off. I'm usually taking pictures in default settings though I might turn the flash off.
The Sense 3.0 camera app is the same as the one we have on the MT4GS, and as long as we run a version of Sense 3.0 we shouldn't have any problems. AOSP would be nice, but I'd like to have the nice camera functionality, and honestly I loved Virtuous Fusion ROM running Sense 3.0, I can't imagine how fast it would be on this device!
Yeah, the camera is something that I really want working on a custom rom. coming from the cliq though, everything seems fast stock on this phone.
I can't wait for Cyanogenmod on this phone. It really opened up my 3G slide with all kinds of cool stuff. When 3G slides were bearly getting official 2.2 Froyo from HTC, I had gingerbread for a while. I can imagine this bad boy running 3.1 or even the 4.0 that's supposed to be out soon!
Loved CM on my 3G slide, but I *personally* would not want to part with the functionality of the camera. Now if workarounds are discovered than that is a different story.
This phone is so much better out of the box than the 3G slide was though.

Just because something isn't CM7 doesn't mean it isn't a good ROM. People need to pay respect to those developing ROMs other than CM7 and MIUI as well, if it weren't for them we would still be on the stock rom with S-ON. Give this ROM a shot, I've been running it for a while and it is much better than the shipped rom and has full camera functionality.
The reason we don't have cm7 support is because there is no source code yet. You stuck with sense until then. Complain to HTC not within xda.

I would like to know if anyone knows of a way to do this true TW4 standalone from the ROM, or is the only way to use this ROM?
If it is anything like TW4.5, you have to turn on landscape mode followed by a reboot. It only has to be done once but once you do you get landscape.

Just manually add the apps you want on the dock.
(App Drawer > Menu > View Type > Customizable Grid > Menu > Edit > *Make Changes* > Menu > Save > Menu > View Type > Go back to what you like.)
It's a lot more annoying than other launchers on the market, but you can still do it. TW4 seems to have a maximum of three apps, plus the app drawer. On the custom TW4.5, it allows for more, but the app drawer still will always be the right-most icon. Those two things are all I would as for Samsung.. well maybe an auto-hide home screen number too. Minor annoyances but a silky smooth launcher.
Also, thanks for the reply xboxfanj, about trying to add this without needing to flash the whole ROM.
Thanks.

If I can find the time, I might try learning how to do that, because I'm having a bit too much trouble combining my mods. I might tinker with it, along side working on getting ACS ICS where I want it on my phone. In the meantime, I've been using QQLauncher. It's nicer looking, and more of what I want, since it readily works with ACS ICS, but TW4 seemed to be a bit smoother for me. Now that the Galaxy Nexus has been announced, I might also be a little more patient as things develop. Not to mention, Cyanogen is getting pretty polished. Decisions, decisions.. I'll be glad when I'm finally settled on something. Until then, hopefully I can learn enough to help put some of these solid mods together.
