I just read a post on Engadget that said all 2011 Android phones on AT&T will be getting official GB ports in the next several weeks. I know it really doesn't mean much since we'll have the Rogers GB version soon but at least AT&T is standing by its phones and providing official updates...
Good news is, when we flash to stock for whatever reasons, it won't be a gingerbread-froyo-gingerbread transition.

not for a while, untill google release the source code there will be no roms at all. At best guess maybe when they release ice cream sandwich they might release the code.

gotcha..cuz on my phone im running cm7.0.3.1 and i see in the CM settings theres an option for tablet tweak..curious what that was for seeng as it was built for the htc evo..lol (scratching my head)
There are tablets that run gingerbread roms. Probably meant for those. You can change the lcd density and get the aosp gingerbread launcher if you prefer.

Can't wait till the Roms start getting cooked from this
5 more days to release , quite excited to look into its features
I've been doing a little bit of reading any we probably won't see any ICS based ROMs until the Nexus Prime formally releases along with the release of the source code ... Which could be anytime between December and January.
Love it, android is now more and more briliant

Dammit, you might be right, we'll need to wait 2-3 months.
Or, maybe a ROM will leak before launch, maybe they even release the Nexus Prime by OCTOBER End (to counter iPhone 4S) Or better, google may be kind enough to release the source code before Nexus Prime (Eric said ICS was due october/november)
Considering that the OEM's & Google have agreed for a 18 month time line in providing updates to their devices.... the Desire S eventually will get the official ICS - OTA. . . .although we'll already have Custom ROM's from our dev's (proxuser , lowveld , mdeejay, etc ...) with ICS b4 that
3 days to launch...
Oh nice! Hopefully HTC will be fast to release an official update
Well, as soon as the source code is available (wether it is via cyanogen or google) ill do my best to build it from source
tomorrow will be a superb day, can't wait...........yaaaaaaaaaaaa
Ice cream sandwich out today. Waiting for a full lowdown on specs...

@kylon, the new OS has just been revealed today. So i doubt you are going to get a ROM with ICS already!!
But now that the SDK is available, things will be set in motion and soon we'll see the nexus prime ROM port or ROMs with ICS cooked from scratch, depending on how dev friendly the new OS is and what kind of API changes Google has implemented...
As far as Sense ROMs on ICS are concerned, we're a long way from getting there yet till HTC launch a new ICS device. I may be wrong but this is the current picture regarding ICS availability AFAIK...
Ah i thouth it was already relased
So...i ll wait htc

looking at the diff there isn't a whole lot of changes. It shouldn't take long for an aosp rom to be ready, and sense will be ready as soon as either they release a ICS phone or they update opensense.
Um i hope next android will be more powerful
I saw runny rom, there are new useful things, like finally a better browser
Add home screen on sense it s a little stupid, the screens will be 6 anyway.

Personally, I wish Google would stop announcing new versions of Android before more devices are updated to the current version. I've been watching the cycle since I started on Android 1.5.
Sent from the Evil Empire
there is no info about it yet, way too early in the game
I wouldn't think of Jelly Bean as something that will be hugely groundbreaking. It will probably be an incremental type of update, like Gingerbread was for Froyo.

Actually Froyo (2.2) and Gingerbread (2.3) were incremental updates to Eclair (2.0, 2.1) and I agree Jelly Bean will most likely be a incremental update.

Froyo was not an incremental upgrade to eclair. Froyo brought us flash. Only androids that had anything flash before that was HTC with their own flash light which could do some light flash items. But adobe's flash was introduced with froyo and was a real game changer.
There was also chrome to phone that was introduced with froyo and I believe Google goggles also.
I've been with android for quite a while and haven't looked forward to any upgrade as much as I did froyo.

I'm pretty new to LG G2x, and just wondering if it's even possible to have a ROM based on Android 3 or even 4?
Android 3.0 is only for tablets. So in other words, no. However, several 4.0 ROMs are in the G2x development section such as AOKP and Hellfire Sandwich. Just warning you that they're not as stable as 2.3 ROMs (at least for now.)

Nope.
Jelly bean will be what ics was supposed to do, which was to defragment the os which we know as android and let two become 1. Meaning tablet and smartphone integration, ive read on google that jellybean will support both platforms.

Well, I have a G2X with ICS, and an ASUS Transformer running ICS as well, so the "integration" you speak of is happening now. I'm sure there can be refinements, but the OS version is the same; this isn't a feature waiting for the next version, unless I'm just missing what you're trying to say.

I feel like it'll be more like a Froyo -> Gingerbread type change in the looks department.
Rather than a Gingerbread -> Honeycomb type deal.
