Led indicator - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

I've installed light flow from the market but with no joy yet... Meanwhile the flashing green indicator seems to start for no reason (or the smallest reason like skype not connecting). Any ideas how to give lightflow complete control and make it work?

It will probably require a custom kernel, if you're in the same boat as most of us that will require you to have an S-OFF device, which will mean you'll have to wait a while until we can root our phones.

[LED] CM6 Led Settings Enabled CMParts.apk

http://android.erley.org/CMParts.apk
I've recompiled CMParts from git to enable support for changing the LED Notifications. Just download and install.
Before people go complaining, yes 90% of the settings don't work, and will never work on our phones. That's due to hardware limitations, not software issues. This is here for those that missed that working 10%. Will update with each new CM6 release, as long as I have a hero (being divested to AT&T).

Supposedly? Maybe? It's uninstallable so it wouldn't hurt to try and report back. I built it trying to solve a different issue, that it didn't solve. I figured it might be useful to others (especially those that used this in the nightlies when it was enabled).
okay so maybe i am having a brain fart but how in the hell do you install this i tried doing it from recovery but that didnt work so did i miss something i cant do it from in the phone as well ????

Just install using Astro
I don't think the trackball notifications will work with this, those are still locked. But this will let you change the LED notification settings (color, etc.)
Maybe in the OP we should put a list of working colors, although as far as I know it's just green and orange.

Yes, those are the only two that work on the Hero.

So would that .apk work with CM 6.1? I am still getting a solid color when my notification lights go off, even when I pick the blink frequency within handscent.
Thanks in advance for any help!

LED Notifications (G2X App)

I was using this app for my G2X and thought it might be nice if the developer could make it work for the Sensation, since the notification light is so small. I emailed him to see if it was possible. Any interest in this let the developer know.
It's pretty cool, it lights up the bottom four keys and pulses them when you get a message, so when your screen is off you see the white lights blinking. You can set the times and if you want it to fade in and out.

cool app, i used it on my g2x also... think he can make our notification light blink in different colors? probably only green/red/orange... about to try an app I used on my mt4g to see if it works
I am using Gmail Notifier that I loved on my n1. Unfortunately, you can't select colors of the led (even limited choice that we see on the sensation).
I used the other one on my g2x as well but what I really want is to be able to tell which gmail account an email came from by led notification. Fingers crossed for someone to create something like this.

Will give bln a try once we have root and a kernel that supports it. Looks pretty cool.
Is this still possible now that we have temp root? I would really like this app to work on my sensation.

Found the App for this, it's called Led Me Know. Works perfectly for the led notifications. You have to enable keyboard light up and compatability mode.

What's keyboard light up and what does it do? I have it working on my Sensation, but it's pretty much like the stock notifications, nothing too different other than the frequency.

Do you mean the captive buttons? It doesn't work with compatibility checked. Only thing it does is flash the small led on top.
EDIT: Captive buttons do not light in my case. Do I need to check the box labeled screen on as well?
Ok I forgot to mention you have to have temp root and another app to make this work. Its called Light Flow and the way I made it work was having the paid app. I opened up Light Flow, it asked me for root access, I accepted it, then it asked me to turn on Accessibility. So i did and checked Light Flow. Once I did all that, I went back into the app and went to General Settings, clicked direct mode. Once I did that I scrolled a little further down to "Button back light control" and clicked the option "Control-when the screen is off". After that I went into "Notification" clicked "SMS" and scrolled down to "Button backlight LED" and chose "Solid". Now this is where LED me know comes into play.
I opened LED me know and I made sure "Compatability" was checked. I clicked all the services I want like SMS, Missed Calls, and Gmail. Now I clicked the "Notifications" tab and clicked SMS, I chose LED color to whatever I liked (Green) then chose the LED Frequency to Normal, but you can change that. After all that, checked Keyboard and Keyboard blink. Test it and see if it works.
Wow, I just tried the pre-release of LED me know, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13929058&postcount=495 and it asked for root permission. Ever since that, its been working great without having to do all these steps I posted. Can anyone try this method?

There is an app in the Market called LG 2X/Black/3D Notifications that works with the G2X. It worked without root with 2.2 but apparently it requires root with 2.3.3 due to some changes LG made to the phone.
Yup I use the one phburks suggested works very nice, the developers of the app fixed the root issue with 2.3.3, works flawless
thx

I wouldn't call it fixing the root issue. I just downloaded and installed the app and it required root permission to make the file writable and has to do so at every boot. So if you are not rooted it will not work on 2.3.3 on our device.

No it is not possible. LG changed the permissions on the file that controls the soft key lights in Gingerbread. It is now a read only file. In order to write to it and turn on the lights you must be rooted so the app can change the permissions.

I think this one sucks compared to the CM7 one. CM7 one has slightly better options and less annoying. That is, unless someone can tell me how to not get this one to "pulse" the lights and give the option to cler with touch of home key.

No. it basically turns your screen on when you get a notification and shows icons depending on what you have...mail..txt..etc. It keeps the screen on until you check it (i think you can set it on a timer tho). But yeah..its a battery drain.

Was your phone around any type of moisture? Or did it get wet somehow? I've read in some of the water damage threads that some people experience the red flashing notification light after it's been damaged from water.

Some apps use a red notification LED by default. I know my fiancee uses the SportsCenter app and it pulses the LED red when there's a notification.
i see the same happen on my G2, usually when i pull into my driveway and i connect to my wifi
I'm a relatively new nexus 5 user and am sometimes confused by what the color leds correspond to. Is there a tool that will indicate which app sends which color led signal?

I am rooted but using stock rom.
Various apps utilize led notifications but it is hard after a while to remember which color corresponds to which app. I thought there might be a tool, not to modify them but just to list which app sends which color. But I guess not.
Thanks.

If I remember correctly, the LED light does flash red when the phone is charging, I myself downloaded Light Flow, which allows you to manage all aspects of the LED light, I like it much better than not having control over it . But like you said you did nothing, so must be just an app you have.
I wonder if an app that monitored the logcat could deduce who the heck triggered the light so you could at least find out what app was responsible?

Hidden LED

So, just like all the previous Moto phones, this one has a hidden LED too!
Using root and any kernel tweaker with an option to adjust leds, you can switch it on. It seems to be only white as far as I could tell but it's there! (In the middle of the speaker grill on top)

How bright is the LED? It might not be useful because of the front flash unless it's a dim light. From the picture it seems bright though.
