Is this just flashed through CWM? Also, what is the benefits of switching to this modem? I'm really a noob at most things outside of roms and recoveries.

Different modems can give you better reception and DL speeds, but which modem would work better for you depends on your area. Its a trial and error thing.

What is not working.
First off:
You will need ClockworkMod 3.0 to flash this rom (uses ext4 partitioning) - You can find this in Rom Manager.
Now:
Download the latest from from Evervolv.com
Make sure to do a full wipe, even if you're coming from an older build, just to make sure. Also, flash Google Apps that are also on that download page.

Not as of now.
I would take some time to mention in the original post that clockwork mod 3.0 rids of the widely used update-script so only updater scripts can be used, maybe not to much of a diffrence but for flashing older mods your best bet is to stay on 2. Just a heads up.

Actually, the CWM 3.x.x.x should have it's own thread for folks to report bugs and get updated versions, etc.
Haven't cracked open the boot.img yet to take a look does the stock boot.img support ext4 or would you have to ruu to get back to the previous filesystem and rom?

I don't believe the md5 sum would be the same, but I'm probally wrong on that. As far as older roms go they don't mount any of the partitions as ext4 to get mounted by cwm3 which supports only ext4 fs in this case. Devs would have to add ext4 mounting to their scripts.

Here's a CWM flashable zip for Stock EL30, Pre-rooted & Deodexed. Thanks to k0nane for the stock kernel and system files. (My system dump might have worked, but I figured I'd redo it with his.) Devs: ROM away.
- Since this is completely stock, it's still BML/RFS.
- If you are on a Ext4 ROM, flash EXT42RFS.zip first.
- Do not flash if you are currently on an MTD ROM, you must ODIN back.
- Does not update the modem, you'll need to do that yourself.
- Standard flashing procedure: wipe cache/dalvik.
- It will not wipe data, so that's your call.

I've tried it and it does not work. Maybe a dev will update it for EL30 soon. But when I flash I just get stuck at Samsung boot screen. I've tried wiping dalvik and cache to no avail. I haven't tried deleting the original Sprint Hotspot with Root explorer and then rebooting and reflashing. I'll try that now and let you know what happens
This does NOT include the EL30 modem, is that correct? If one flashes this, over a stock but rooted (and lots of stuff hacked out) EI22, what's the procedure for getting the EL30 modem onto it?

I'm getting awful speeds with this; I'm in an LTE area and getting .5mb/s.
I flashed this radio with the latest CM9 nightly. Is there a chance I did something wrong?
Maybe APN settings I need to look at?
