[Q] SketchBook Pro? [solved]

It seems Autodesk finally released Sketchbook Pro for Android, yet when I view it in the Market it has been listed as incompatible with the Transformer. Is it still possible to download and install it anyway?
Edit: Updating to 3.2 seems to have fixed it. I'm not sure exactly what was causing it to appear to be incompatible in the first place.
This app helped me discover a fatal flaw in the Android Market refund process:
You cannot initiate a refund from the Market website. Here's how this was a problem. I saw Sketchbook Pro on an Android news site which linked to it's market page on the web. It said it was compatible with the Transformer so I purchased it. Turns out, Autodesk has the filters enabled so it will only be shown as compatible with Honeycomb 3.0, and it's filtered out of the market on HC 3.1 devices. Since I just got my TF that night, the market still thought I was running HC 3.0 and said compatible. I had literally JUST gone to Prime 1.5 (HC 3.1) about 30 minutes earlier. I went on the Transformer and the app was not in My Apps. I cleared Market data, same result. I searched for the app and could not find it. Had a friend check their HC 3.1 Xoom and they couldn't find it either. I came to the conclusion about the filters. I discovered all this well within the 15 minute refund window, but since I could not locate Sketchbook within the market app itself, I could not ask for a refund. I had to petition Autodesk for a manual refund.
Google needs to allow refund requests from the Market website!!
your case is really really unusual and involve custom rom flashing, it feel a bit wrong to complain. Then gain, why not ?
anyway sketchbook pro works perfectly fine for me on stock 3.1 and I downloaded it from the tablet market last saturday (the day it was first release) It s curious you cant see it from prime.
I'm running a custom ROM as well. It seems strange that of all the apps that require Android 3.0 and up, only SketchBook Pro throws a fit if you're found to be running a custom ROM. Perhaps they'll fix it soon.

[Q] Questions about rooting, should I?

Hi, if my typing is a little off i appologize, im on my tablet.
I have had two android phones, moto droid and moto droid 3. I justgot a eee pad and have never had a need to root my device. Now though, i want netflix on my tablet soim considering rooting. I am very tech savvy but i have some questions before i root. I love the stock ui, i dont want to change anything except to get netflix, whats the best rom for me, and what apps should i get for it? Or is there a non-root solution for netflix?
Thanks, sharf
Hi!
I have no idea about netflix, but you can root your TF and keep your stock ROM. It's not necessary to change the ROM if you want to root your TF and you are happy with the stock ROM.
Regards.
If you are happy not being able to get OTA official updates from ASUS anymore, and think rooting the tablet purely for 1 app is worth it, go ahead.
Me, I like OTA updates - and dont want to be forced to install custom roms for the rest of its life if unrooting doesnt work like it doesnt for certain peoples tablets.

I just called netflix, and the guy said the xoom and transformer are on the list for the next update coming out in "the next month or so" since i dont have netflix yet anyway, i think i'll stick to stock and wait for netflix to update.
Thanks guys, sharf
For netflix to work, you need to be rooted. The fix to get it working makes some modifications to files in a area that is protected. When you root it, it gets unprotected(giving read/write access).

[Q] Update Question

I know this is a pretty lame question but give me a break I have been unable to use the internet for about 2 1/2 months. I have a tf with the last update occuring in may. Again I have been away from the net for a while and I have no way of updating OTA. My question is with all the updates that have occurred since I last updated if I am able to get the latest update mailed to me via flash drive will I still get the improvements from previous updates? Also do I need to update my 3.1 to the newest 3.1 update before improving to 3.2 or can I go straight from old 3.1 to 3.2? Sorry for asking a lame question but I don't know who else to ask. Thanks
Well I was able to get my hands on a sat phone over here in Afghan and gave Asus a call. They were able to answer my question so thanks anyway. I knew it wasn't the best question but I had limited resources to get the answer.

[Q] Is Netflix avaliable in android market for EEE?

I thought the Netflix app became available for the EEE a month or so ago, but when I check the market it isn't showing up on my tablet. I know a while back when Netflix first came out on Android I had tried to sideload a APK but had since removed it since it did not work. Did I miss a memo somewhere about this? Anything I can do, or do I need to sideload it again?
Non rooted transformer
I think you have to side load it or something, search the forums for the netflix apk..
I just pulled the apk off my phone and pushed it onto the TF and rebooted.
Works for me.
Ah, no problem then, I just figured with all the talk of Netflix being able to run on the transformer that i thought it would show in the market. will just sideload it then
I've tried installing netflix a few times. I cant get it wotking on mine. I have a eee pad with B80 build so im not rooted. I also live in Canada so not sure if thats screwing me up. No problem on my ipad2 though.
Ps, cant post in the proper forum but thanks rayman84,for all the hard work at getting us rooted. Its appreciated.

From everything I've read, you have to make it think you are in the US using a US IP address when you log in the first time. Most people use VPNs to accomplish this.
As long as you have the allow non-market apps checked it should install.

Q: TF-101 vs TF300 rooting / netflix, etc..

I had a TF-101 rooted with 3.1 with recommendations from this forum. I could still run Netflix on it and watch my interlaced avi movies with moboplayer without problems.
Then i thought to upgrade to TF300 and pass on the old transformer to a family member. Then i learned with the TF300 running ice cream sandwich that i could not root and still watch netflix, and all media players like moboplayer/mx player crash periodically or do not do deinterlacing (bs player). So i thought o pass on the TF300 and keep the more useful TF-101. And then the TF-101 was lost on a flight (stolen from baggage).
So now i wonder what to do:
Is there any workaround for netflix on rooted TF300 ?
If i am going to buy another TF-101, i fear that it will come with 4.0, Back in 2010, when i rooted it, it was said that you could not root a TF101 from 4.0. So, what do i need to watch out for if i am going to buy another TF-101 that i want to get rooted ?
Thanks!
Sounds like you've been away for a while. You need to read up a little.
You can root the TF101 up to the latest firmware.
Thanks
Yes, have been away quite a whilte. Once i had the 101 rooted and set up with everything i was happy. And the TF300 is fairly recent. It also seems as if it possible to root a TF300 without unlocking, which hopefully should allow to keep Netflix running, or at least i can try and if it doesn't work, return it.
What i am mostly puzzled about though is why all these video player apps (moboplayer,...) do seem to crash/stop on my files whereas this never happened with TF101. I guess i have to investigate more forums for that problem *sigh*. One would have hoped that things got better with TF101->TF300 and 3.1 -> 4.0, but unfortunately, not so much *sigh*.
