Ok, so I just wanted to know why some people want to go back to NoDo. I understand Mango 7661 is still in 2nd beta but I don't see any problems on my phone. Therefore in my case I'll restore back to NoDo and upgrade to retail mango as soon as it releases, but for the meantime mango beta will be my primary os.
So, does your primary phone have: Mango 7661, NoDo 7392, Mango 7661 > NoDo?

Had mango, returned to nodo for the unlock and my side loaded apps. If I gather the courage and time, I might go back up to the mango beta and try the GPRS unlock on my focus.

You are currently out of luck. There aren't any ROMs available, yet, for the DVP.
The only options for restoring back to nodo are:
1. using your own backup files (each phones backup is locked to only that phone and it's encrypted, another phones backup files will not work)
2. Flashing a ROM. ROMs for your device and instructions for flashing said ROMs can be found in the device specific forum here on XDA.
So, if you didn't save your own backup files, and your phone doesn't have ROMs available for flashing, there is currently no way to restore your phone to nodo and supposedly when MANGO is officially released, you will not be able to update. You are stuck in mango beta forever... or until a ROM for your device surfaces (this is likely to eventually happen) or a fix is created (don't hold your breath)

Just quick question because You have 7661... does the username with spaces in it works on 7661?

I have been trying to get this phone unlocked but not having much luck at all.
I keep getting the Uh oh message.
I have updated the phone to the latest version 7392, I downgraded and tried unlocking too but didnt work either.
Now im beginning to think that jailbreaking works for only 7004 versions. Am I correct?
I have followed instructions, turning off firewall, airplane mode, screen lock off, resetting phone before trying again, making sure your not guest when syncing via zune, editing the host file.
Im on vista btw should I try on windows 7?
you install chevron certs to phone?

hi all, i would be interested too on a update on the latest happenings with WP7 (completley lost touch with the scene). From my understanding, if you have the copy and paste function on your phone, your phone has an update which does not allow jailbreaking, correct?
also - to jailbreak - does that mean you can download apps from marketplace for free?
thanks - jason

NO!!! with unlock (jailbreak) you can load (deploy) applications to device from computer... many programmers can make applications without to pay and send this applications to Microsoft but without unlock you cant deploy this applications to device
How am I able to downgrade my software ? I have 7.0.7392.... on a htc 7 pro
i managed what you want... i had a standard 7392 stock HTC from O2 germany. i flashed a ROM signed from ansar the one that is going on this phone and then followed the instructions of this forum here and get in the end a dev. unlocked htc 7 pro with 7.10.7720.68 OS version. it took me about 3-4 h to manage this from 7004 build to 7720... but it goes. i can deploy xap files. only one thing is, i can open the touchexplorer but not the advanced config any more i think it has something with mango to do... i hope there will be an update of this app for mango...
I want to receive mango through Zune when my carrier releases it but I am on 7712 with no back up. What can I do? I would like to be unlocked as well.
Well, your phone is currently running the BETA version of Mango. Microsoft said that there will be no option to update to the official version of Mango if you're using the BETA.
The only option for you is to flash an older ROM to your phone so that you're back to 7004 (or 7008). Then you have to unlock; prevent your phone from relocking and update to NoDo. Then you just have to wait until the final version is released.
There are tutorials here on xda-developers on how to keep the unlock while updating to a higher version.
experience7
Flash your HTC HD7 with 7392 ROM. You'll then be on the official update route.
If you want it unlocked, you'll have to flash all the way back to either 7004 or 7008.
Since I lost my backup and have to flash to a rom from this site, will Zune recognize it as "official"? And send me updates?

You will get updated when they release by the carrier/oem (I believe or maybe it's based on SIM, but believe it depends more on Branding) of the ROM. So if it's a T-Mobile USA ROM, you'll get the updates as TMOUSA releases them. People do this all the time on device that come with Mango already on them. They Flash a 7004/7008 ROM so they can Chevron Unlock & than just upgrade back to NoDo.
hey guys i have been trying 6 hours today get my phone unlocked so i can get game using tom xap installer will i tried a lot of things like changing date and put airplane mode on. None of them are working though all i keep getting is sorry i'm having trouble communicating with your phone. please make sure it connected with a usb cable... and so on. I install the cert on my phone through the email to but still gave me the same reply. please help i am new and not sure how to do this :\
what software version is on ur phone must be pre nodo for chevron to work
Yah make sure you have a 7004/7008 pre-nodo rom and make an exception in your firewall for chevron. The second one hung me up for a while. I have eset and had to add a rule to allow connection after that worked perfect. Chevron wont work at all on 7392(nodo) roms or higher. Microsoft fixed the hole chevron used in nodo.

[DFT Freedom ROM] Mango 7713 SCHUBERT Custom ROM
Sorry,for my bad english.
I installed the Mango 8107 update on my Samsung Focus S phone, using Heathcliff74's CAB's method, but I forgot to back-up my phone first. Now, I'm trying to install some themes that voluptuary posted, but they won't install unless I'm on 7740 or lower, and my only restore point/back-up is from today, with 8107 ALREADY installed!
Is there any way for me to revert my AT&T Focus S back to 7740 or 7720 WITHOUT having my back-up?!!
Thanks,
Dennis
I had the same issue a couple days back. I had 8107 and wanted 7720 to interop unlock it. Problem was I had no backup what so ever.
So what I did is I went to the phone specific forums and looked around for a Custom ROM (in my case) but originally I wanted to put a shipped 7720 ROM on there to interop unlock and update though Zune. Also looked for a tutorial on there.
In your case it should be in "Samsung Focus (S)" --> "Focus Windows Phone 7 Development".
As people in my question (nearly entirely the same as yours) answered it is only possible to revert back to an older version (if you dont have a backup) if you flash a shipped 7720 ROM.
(people in the phone specific forum will help you further im sure!)
Good luck
Yea, with out a custom rom, OEM rom or a backup your SOL. Sad to say...

For your (@ OP) case I would just recomment a shipped ROM (7740 or 7720) as this requires you to downgrade your bootloader just once.
If you want a custom ROM you need to perform a lot more actions (aka downgrading the bootloader way further) before you can install that, takes more time and is more risky (not saying "a lot" more but speaks for itself)
I have HTC HD7 that already been updated to Mango.
Is there any way to unlock it, and not going back to NoDo?
Thanx!

If you have one a second update for your mango than there's no way to unlock (for now) if you're still on the 1st update then you can use heathcliff or ansar's U2M at Hacking thread.
i'm on the 1st update.
can you please post a link for the instructions?
try there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196183 but will work only if your rom is european...
If not...is there any restore point you could go back to? (try an update with zune, it will tell you)...
btw, the best way to downgrade bootloader is goldcard process (see "goldcard by viperblk")
I already got back to NoDo with unlock.
well I don't know anything about Rom's and flashing. I don't realy have an idea what you talking about.
Is there any detailed guide out there.
step by step, coz i'm lost on it...
There's a thread in Q&A wp7 development wrote by sh4d0w86, you'll find all you need in, try "xspl" term in research window.
